Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Middletown, DE for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Breanna! Breanna is a 12-year-old, 12 lb Yorkshire Terrier who was brought to a shelter. She was matted, missing an eye, and had masses on her tiny body. Breanna was brought into our rescue and quickly assessed. She had a mass removed from her hip as well as a mammary mass, and fortunately both were benign. Breanna received a dental where her last four teeth were removed. She may be a gummer, but it doesn’t slow her down at mealtimes! Breanna sees well out of her one eye and has good hearing. She is fully potty trained, crate trained, and can handle stairs with ease. Breanna walks well on a leash and gets along great with kids and other dogs. Breanna receives twice daily prescription eye drops which she will likely need for the rest of her life, these cost about $30 a month. Breanna loves everyone and everything. Every person she meets gets greeted by her rolling over and showing her belly. If you give her belly rubs, you will be her new best friend. Breanna loves being outside and sunbathing, playing with other dogs, and hanging with her people. She enjoys being held, cuddling, and snuggling up in someone’s bed at night. Breanna is happy and comfortable anywhere she goes. She is a dog that could immediately fit into your home and make it her own. Apply today!

Story
Lizzie was adopted from a hoarder situation. She is up to date with all shots and is now healthy. Unfortunately they had to pull all of her teeth. But that doesn’t stop her from eating. She eats everything. She loves pork chop bones. She is fine with other dogs and children as long as they don’t stay too long. She needs to be in a home where she is the only dog and no children so she can get 100% of the cuddles. If you are home most of the time would be even better. She is a sweet pup but she has issues being brought up in a home with 82 other dogs. She is house broken some but needs more training. She will go outside but you need to watch for the signals. She will use a pee pad most times. I hate having to give her up. I’ve had her for 9 months and she still hasn’t accepted my other pup. Lizzie is 8 years old and runs around the back yard like she is 1. She loves riding in a car. She loves sleeping next to you. She needs to be loved.
