My wife recently passed, and Bentley was her dog. I am moving in with my daughter and need to find a new home for him. He is a typical terrier and would do best in a house with no other dogs or children.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Maxwell: Proof That Big Hearts Come in Small Packages This little senior silver Yorkie may look cute (and he is), but don’t be fooled—Maxwell is so much more than meets the eye. He’s living proof that you can’t judge a book by its cover! We posted a sneak preview of this wicked cutie when we picked him up to bring him into Rescue. Little did we know that he was going to be more special than we thought. Maxwell has special needs—he’s blind, hard of hearing, and learning to navigate the world in his own unique way. But don’t let that fool you; Maxwell is full of determination and charm: &#226&#156&#168 Achievements unlocked: Maxwell has figured out how to climb stairs and even come back down (with a little help from his humans). Friendship goals: He wags his tail and wants to be friends with everyone (even if he needs a little time to build trust). House manners: Potty trained, crate trained (loves a cozy carrier), and barks when he needs something—he’s got communication down! Cuddle potential: Maxwell loves couch snuggles once he feels safe. Maxwell is looking for a special home with someone who understands his needs and is ready to love him just the way he is. He’s made amazing progress but needs a patient, gentle hand to help him fully thrive. We have HUGE thanks to our friend Julie and her husband for agreeing to take on Maxwell as we learned about his needs.    Maxwell was found as a stray in a hospital parking lot. Thanks to a good Samaritan he was picked up and brought to safety. He was wearing a rabies tag which led us to his owner who was a 90 year-old woman who had recently suffered a stroke. She could no longer care for him and knew that he was able to escape her yard so she asked that we find him a safe and happy home. we brought him up-to-date on his vaccines. He has been neutered and his micro chipped. He had a benign tumor on his butt, which is why it took us a little while to post him as we wanted to get a clean bill of health first. Got a heart big enough for this tiny warrior? Let’s help Max find the understanding home he deserves, apply at 4luckydogs.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 13, 2025, 11:59 am

Story
Hi, I’m Hamlet . . . I’m a 3-year-old Yorkshire Terrier blend who weighs 17 lbs. I’m an affectionate boy looking for my “FUR”ever home.  Not to toot my own horn, but I’m looking pretty dapper after my fresh groom. I will need a special person who can accept me just the way I am. General Behavior: Hamlet is a curious, clever, and playful young boy. He’s got tons of charm and makes sure to show it! Likes & Dislikes: Hamlet would rate snuggling high on his list of favorite things. In fact, this lovebug wants to snuggle as much as possible and give lots of kisses. Although he is quite playful, he doesn’t seem to have much interest in toys. He can be anxious during nighttime walks or when noises startle him, but we are hopeful this will improve with time (and knowing that he is safe with his new human). Training: Hamlet has done fabulously with house training and will need to continue being let out on a frequent and consistent schedule. He walks well on a leash and loves car rides. He still needs to work on his basic manners, but he’s a smart boy and food-motivated, which will be helpful for additional training. Medical: Hamlet will only require his monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention, just like any other dog. Other Animals: Having spent time on the streets, Hamlet is unsure about other animals. For that reason, Hamlet will need to be the only dog in the home. A home without cats will also be required. Children: Hamlet has no experience with children. Due to his inexperience, small size, and anxiousness, a home without children is necessary. This requirement is essential to set Hamlet up for success. Home: Happy Hamlet will need to live in a single-family home. He tends to bark when left alone, so homes with shared walls would not be suitable. A new human willing to work with him on his anxiety will be needed. At night, Hamlet is happy to sleep in the "big person" bed and, guess what? SNUGGLE! Grooming: Hamlet will need regular brushing, nail trims, and professional grooming. The cost of grooming should be something a potential adopter considers. Overall: With positive training and reinforcement, along with a patient and committed human, the sky's the limit for Hamlet. He would make the perfect snuggle buddy and has lots of love to offer. Could you be the one for Hamlet?  Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. Hamlet is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, neutered and just had a dental.  His adoption donation is $450. ##2280503##
