Story
Sir Bentley Fitzsimmons a/k/a Bentley is and adorable, sweet and fun loving 8 yr old 7 lbs Yorkie rescued from a local shelter. Bentley LOVES to play fetch more than anything, he also likes tug of war an playing with other small dogs. He is close to housetrained but doesn't always get #2 right. He was given up due do to landlord issues and we suspect that is because he has a very large bark for such a very small dog! He is now heartworm tested negative, vaccinated, neutered, chipped and had a much needed dental and tooth extraction. He does not mind cats at all. Bentley seeks a local home with another small dog. Furniture privileges are full expected. Fenced yard is preferred but not required. Due to his size, no small kids please. Local Inquiries only! Must haves: -Must be willing to play fetch a lot, and I mean a lot! -Must be willing to buy lots of toys -Must have dog furniture stairs -Must have another small dog - 7-12 lbs -Must reside in Metro Atlanta Deal Breakers: -Apartments/Condos, anything that shares walls with the neighbor -Out of state or non metro Atlanta -Small kids -No similarly sized playful canine companion

Story
Meet Dolly, our 9-month-old, 8-pound, little Yorkie with a huge personality. Dolly is a happy girl that is always up for a game of chase or the zoomies. She can entertain herself if no one is around. She carries a favorite toy around the house and will toss it up in the air to play chase. Dolly takes a minute to warm up in new environments but is extremely submissive and friendly. She loves the companionship of other dogs and gets along with her foster siblings. She will do great with a smaller sized active and friendly companion dog. While playing outside, Dolly will catch leaves and bring them to her foster mom. At the end of the day, Dolly enjoys cuddling with her foster mom; she gets an A+ in evening snuggle time. She has beautiful eyes that melt your heart and definitely knows how to use them to get what she wants! Dolly is good with older children and will do best in a quieter home with a family that is home more than not. Dolly is doing well with house training with frequent opportunities to go outside during the day. Dolly is in a crate very little; she does well when left out to roam with her foster siblings. A privacy fenced yard is required for off leash playtime. Regular progressional groomings and a good brushing several times per week are necessary to keep Dolly's coat healthy and mat free. Dolly is ready to bring joy, love, and happiness to her perfect family! Adoption fee $600. Applications available at ruffredemption.org.  Visit ruffredemption.org to complete an application. All Ruff Redemption Dogs are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They also receive a minimum of two distemper/parvo vaccines, medication for the treatment and prevention of intestinal worms, and monthly heart worm/flea prevention while in our care. Rabies vaccines are given if the dog is 16 weeks of age or older.  March 17, 2025, 10:40 pm

Story
LOOKING FOR MY PERSON:  Approx. 14 years old / Approx. 14 lbs.  Hi, my name is Bessie!  I lived with my family my entire life, but their living situation changed, and they are relocating to a home where pets are not allowed.  That makes me sad, but I am so grateful that Mostly Mutts will work to help me find a new home.  I am in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I did not like the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts, so no dogs please. I tolerated a dog in one temp. foster home, but another temp. foster said I barked at dogs that entered the same room as me as well as those I passed on my walks, so I do not want to live with them. / My former family reported that I did not like cats and Mostly Mutts agrees. / I excitedly went after ankles of kids I met in a foster home and since I have bitten, best no kids.     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a playful girl who likes toys and sometimes acts younger than my age.  I’m called a spry girl and had a blast playing with the volunteer photographer!  I’m a sweet girl who accepts affection most of the time, though I have guarding behaviors when it comes to things like my bed, treats and people.  Once I find my person, I don’t really want to share them too much. This can be a trainable situation and my trainer will be happy to talk to you.  I can be a bit temperamental and once bit my former foster mom, though I did have a urinary tract infection, so that may have had a bit to do with it. My former owner did not report any bites.  My foster said I like new people to go slow as I get to know them so, please be patient with me as I adjust to my new home and any new people I meet.  It just took a few days for me to feel comfortable with a temp. foster when my regular foster was away.  She even called me a ‘real love bug.’  I think I would do best in a home with a small circle of regular people and not too many people coming and going.  Once I am settled, I am sure to show you how sweet I can be!  / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have already learned the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also walk well on a leash.  My trainer at the shelter is great with the little dogs with big personalities, so ask to talk to her when setting up a meeting with me.  My former family reported that I also knew the word ‘no’ and ‘good job’ for praising me. In my former foster home, I knew the words ‘outside’ for going out, and ‘up’, for going up stairs and that I could ‘sit’ when I choose to – lol. / My crate manners were good at Mostly Mutts.  My foster says I go in and out of my open crate to rest or clean myself, but get a bit stressed if I have to be crated during the day.  Usually I am allowed to have free reign of my foster home when she goes to work and I do great with that.  I sleep in bed with my foster and really like that.  There was one report of biting a former foster while asleep / just waking up, just so you know.  I can sleep in my crate if that is better for you.  / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, and in my foster home.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love going for walks and playing fetch.  It was fun playing in the fall leaves too. I enjoy having my cheeks and the top of my head rubbed as well as cuddles and scratches on my back.  Playing with toys is also fun and I enjoy hanging out with my person.  I love treats just as much as toys and playtime.  I do seem to prefer women to men. / I don’t like to be picked up, so let me come to you, please.  I’m also not a fan of having my paws, tummy or rear end rubbed.  I don’t care for some men or people going too fast as I get to know them.  I don’t like dogs coming too close and alert bark at animals I see outside.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, training, and attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have a congenital dropped carpus on both front legs and luxating patella on the left, but my foster didn’t even notice as I can jump and don’t have pain.  I am taking a fish oil supplement and Benadryl daily to help alleviate some bouts with dry, itchy skin.  I also have a mild heart murmur that does not require any treatment currently. I’m on an inexpensive over-the-counter joint supplement which is good for all older dogs.   I am looking for a loving home for life with a dog experienced person! My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  March 15, 2025, 7:38 am

Story
A SWEET FELLOW:  Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 14 lbs.  Hi, my name is Pauley!  I somehow ended up at animal control, and I am so glad that Mostly Mutts came for me.  I’m now on a journey to find a new home and family to love, and I couldn’t be more grateful.  I look forward to meeting them soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me.     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Not your typical yorkie mix, I’m a calm-natured, gentle fellow.  I may take a minute to warm up, but once I do – I am your furry, affectionate friend.  A ‘people dog’, you are sure to love my sweet nature, as I am more of a lover than a player. / My energy level is 2-4. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  A fan of people, I always like to be nearby so I can soak up all the cuddles and petting that comes my way.  I’ve not shown much interest in toys just yet – perhaps because I am an older guy.  I am more about getting your love and attention, so save a spot near you for all the love we can share. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I needed a dental cleaning, and I’ve had that done now along with 9 teeth pulled, so my mouth is fresh again! I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  March 26, 2025, 10:07 am

Story
Meet Eleven “El”! I’m shocked at El’s transformation! I could have sworn she was a Silky Terrier mix. My groomer thinks she is a Yorkie/Jack Russell mix so that’s what I’m going to guess too. El was surrendered with her buddy, Maddie due to medical issues of the owner. She is spayed already too because we saw a spay tattoo after her clean up! She is around 4-5 years old and now that you can see her eyes better, you can tell she does have a premature cataract in her right eye. She loves EVERYONE and craves attention! El does need a dog friend in the home. She came to rescue with her friend, Maddie, (the German Shepherd) so we would love to see them stay together. Maddie only likes smaller dogs like El. Eleven is good in the house as long as she gets plenty of potty breaks. Always expect a few accidents though as she settles in. Friday (3-28) I’ll be getting her shots updated, heartworm test, and microchip. If she is heartworm negative, she will be available afterwards. Her adoption fee is $275 to an approved and loving home (as long as she is heartworm free). All vet records will be given to the adopter(s) at the time of adoption. If adopted with her German Shepherd friend Maddie, the adoption fee is $550. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. If they are still on the page, they are still more than likely still available. We do keep our website and Petfinder updated regularly. Once a pet is adopted from our rescue, they MUST be returned to us, if you cannot keep them. If you plan on not keeping them their whole lives, please do not apply. Thank you for looking at our rescues in need of amazing homes!
