There are no meet and greets. The transporter only goes to the East Coast. We mainly serve the NJ, NY, PA, CT area. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sport is a handsome fellow who is looking for a new home. He looks a lot like a Yorkie mix, possibly with Maltese, given where he came from. He had to be shaved down due to having lots of matted hair, but it's growing back! He came from Louisiana and is now in a NJ foster home. Sport and several other Yorkies, Malteses, and mixes were dumped at a shelter when their breeder shut down. Our partner rescue in Louisiana stepped in to help save these pups! They are all a bit shy but they are learning how to live in foster homes. Sport is a great boy who is more outgoing than some of the others, but he still can be timid at times. He is good with the other dogs in his foster home, and tends to follow their lead in terms of going outside and back in, etc. Sport would do best in a home with other dogs that can show him how to be a "real" dog. Sport has vacationed with cats and is very comfortable with them. Sport has met children in his foster home, and he is starting to seek out pets from the kids. He does like to snuggle and to be held. He is especially cuddly in bed! Sport has started greeting visitors and even the mailman - he's been gaining confidence. Sport doing very well with his housetraining skills. He needs a home where people are around during the day who can watch him and keep him on a good schedule. He is very unhappy in a pen or crate so we're keeping him leashed so we can keep an eye on him and get him completely housetrained. He is getting much better about pottying when brought outside (but he does like you to stay out there with him!) Sport is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and has tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Ginger Grace is such a sweet heart, an application solute delight to be around. She's about 6 pounds and she'll be 10 years old in May, 2025. Ginger Grace loves everyone she meets. She's been with other dogs since coming into rescue and did well with everyone. She came from a quiet home so we would like to place her in surroundings that will be comfortable for her. While we feel she would do fine with another small dog, we will not place her in a home with large dogs or other dogs that overwhelming her. She does well with children however toddlers would not be a good fit due to her size. Ginger is spayed and up tondate on core vaccines and is microchipped. Interested in adopting me? This little lovebug came into our rescue with Gizmo and Bandit after their owner passed away. Sassy is a very sweet, loving girl, just 10 pounds, she is spry and energetic with no medical issues. Sassy loves people and is very affectionate with them. She bonds with her "person" quickly. She gets along with other dogs and has no aggression issues. She has not been exposed to children but older respectful teens will work for her. Sassy is housetrained (we're working on crate training), up to date with vaccinations, neutered and microchipped and she's a recent dental cleaning to show off her lovely teeth. Sassy's ideal home is one with another small friendly dog for company. A fenced yard is a must for her since she loves exploring her new surroundings. She spent much of her time outdoors and we want to keep her safe. Sassy is being fostered in Bayville, NJ. Open your heart to an older dog. Despite this he is a happy guy, gets along with the other littles at the shelter and flops to his back for belly rubs instantly! Hoping there is a special rescue or adopter for this vey special pooch! All Perth Amboy Animal Shelter residents will be fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. You must be 23 or older to adopt from the shelter, complete an Adoption Application and pay the associated adoption fee.
