Story
Sweet Finn is a gorgeous boy who came out of a hoarding situation! He attaches very quickly and has done just that to his foster mom! He loves other dogs, cats and even came from a home with goats! In one of these pictures, that is Finn with another dog from the same hoard. That is what being safe looks like to two dogs that came from hell! Finn is a 1 year old Yorkie/Chi mix of about 15#. He is the cutest boy and he just LOVES love... he cannot get enough! Finn is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention. He is on flea/tick prevention, as well. He will be neutered this week and chipped. His is working on housetraining. Finn would love a home with another dog to play but if he cannot get that, then he wishes for his new mom and/or dad to either work from home or be retired. Finn's adoption fee is $550. This covers all vaccines, vet exam, neuter and chip. Adoption application is below: https://acfrescue.weebly.com/adoption-foster-and-volunteer-applications.html

Story
Brownie8 (ish) years old12 poundsFostered in Fayetteville Short version: Sweet, playful, anxious, good with dogs, could be an only dog, no apartments/condos, no cats, housetrained on a good schedule, loves to go for walks, no kids under 10 This beautiful mix (maybe dachshund is in there, but no promises) loves to play chase with her humans. And she will likely beat you – this girl is fast. When you are all tired out (we promise you will likely quit before her) then she pulls out her favorite toys – she loves her green gator and her dinosaur. But it must be green – she ignored the pink one! She will happily play tug of war and fetch for as long as you will last. This gal has a very sweet disposition, but also has some anxiety so it takes her some time to warm up to new situations. Because of her anxiety, she needs a home without kids under 10. One of the best ways to help her calm down is walking – she loves to walk and it helps her anxiety. Brownie reminds us a bit of a cat. She wants to be near you and get affection, but on her terms. She’s usually in the same room as you, but not all up in your business and glued to your side like many of our fosters. Brownie gets along with other small dogs and would likley play with a little one. She's successfully living with a big dog, but isn't a huge fan of crazy energetic big dogs up in her face. She also needs a feline free home – she landed in our arms for attacking a cat. She is housetrained on a good schedule and will actually ask to go outside. However, her new family should expect accidents during the transition. Brownie is spayed, UTD on shots, HW negative, no known health issues, and had a dental. Her new family will need to drive to Fayetteville to adopt her – no transports. We adopt to NC, VA, SC, and DC area. To get the process started, fill out an application online at www.doxiebyproxy.org/application   This gal is eveyrthing you could want – sweet, playful and a security system all rolled up into 12 pounds. Check out a video of her in the comments! ##2119672##

Story
Cassidy is a sweet 7 yr old, 6 lb Yorkshire Terrier.  Cassidy was a shelter rescue, so we don’t know much about her background. She can be somewhat hesitant when meeting new people but warms up fairly quickly. Toys and a dog bed seem to be new for her, but she is loving and enjoys the attention of her foster family. Cassidy follows her foster mom everywhere and loves to be on the sofa beside her. She can be quick around doorways, so her new family needs to be vigilant. Cassidy is still working on housetraining, so she needs someone patient and willing to take her out regularly as she continues learning. She just started leash training. Cassidy could be an only dog or have another dog under 10 pounds in the home. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher with gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, attached to the home and accessible from a usable house door.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio, deck or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) they need to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500August 5, 2024, 4:49 am

Story
Olive is a tiny, sweet 2-year-old, 6-pound, female Yorkshire Terrier.  We have her mom, Tillie, in foster care as well, and know her dad was a Yorkie, but Olive's ears seem to point to another small breed in the mix; regardless she is 100% cute!  She is happy and bonded quickly with her foster parents.  Olive is all about her people. She will give a little bark if she can’t find you in the house.  She enjoys sitting with her foster mom while she is working. Olive is very quick around doorways, so her new family need to be vigilant to keep her from slipping out. Since Olive loves to be close to her human, she can get underfoot and could be a tripping hazard to those with balance issues.  Housetraining and leash training are new to her, so Olive will need someone with patience and willingness to take her out regularly for her to be successful.  Olive enjoys the other tiny dogs in her foster home. She could be an only dog or have another dog under 12 pounds in the home. We require an all-adult home with a small, securely fenced yard for Olive.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD FOR Olive’S ADOPTIVE HOME.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, which is attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions.  We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Story
Laila is a sweet 5-6-year-old, 6-pound, spayed female Yorkie or possibly Yorkie mix.  Our groomer guesses that Laila may be a Yorkie-Maltese mix (a Morkie) or Yorkie Poodle (a Yorkie-Poo).  No matter what breed or breed mix Laila is, she is adorable, even shaved down (done due to matting). Laila loves women and men equally and wants nothing more than to spend time with a person, on their lap and sleep in the big bed.  At this point, she seems quieter than most Yorkies.  She will continue to need teaching when it comes to pottying outside. We are just starting leash training. Laila could be an only dog or have another dog under 12 pounds in the home.   The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. Story
Tillie is an active and energetic 5-year-old, 5-pound, female Yorkshire Terrier.  She is loving and enjoys the attention she is getting from her foster family. Tillie follows her foster mom from room to room and loves to be on the couch beside her.  Tillie is VERY quick around doorways, so her new family needs to be vigilant to keep her from slipping out. Since Tillie loves to be close to her human, she can get underfoot and could be a tripping hazard to those with balance issues.  She will be your shadow everywhere you go in the house.  It is a challenge to keep her from following her foster parents when they leave the house.
