NAME: Duggy 🩵 AGE: 5-6 years 💙 WEIGHT: 9-10 lbs 🩵LIKES:  Attention, getting petted, Napping and going outside. Shopping! Car rides ⚠️DISLIKES:  nervous being picked up (but is getting so much better), he will jump up when he wants up. Not necessarily a snuggler, but will lay beside you when we wants. He is a lap dog, will jump up. 🐾PERSONALITY:  Quiet, very loving will alert to outside noises. Loves people, Very social. 🐕ENERGY LEVEL:  medium, more active outside ❤️FAVORITE ACTIVITIES:  getting attention, doesn't play with toys. Lap dog. Loves to go on outings, especially to the pet store! 😍 TREAT:  only prescription treats 🐾EATING SCHEDULE:  9 am and 5 pm 🎯GOOD WITH CATS, DOGS, KIDS OVER 6?  yes to cats and dogs, good around the kids he's been exposed to, however a loud chaotic home isn't his ideal environment. No medium/large dogs- he's 9 lbs. 📌HOUSE TRAINED:  Yes, he currently goes out about every 4 hours, except at night. ✔️SIGNALS TO GO OUT:  scratches at door, runs around to get your attention ❎️CRATE TRAINED:  Yes, he is good in crate, but doesn't need to be. He does like his crate to relax in. 🔵CHALLENGES:  Not in love with grooming, but learning. Guessing his previous owner didn't have him groomed often. He's doing better each trip he goes to be groomed. ✅️MEDICAL ISSUES: had Pancreatitis, will now need prescription food, which he does like. 🩵THE BEST HOME:  Not left alone for long periods of time. Someone that will respect him and love him. He is the sweetest little guy, and we promise to find him a forever family who will love him. 💙 NAME: Duggy 🩵 AGE: 4-5 years 💙 WEIGHT: 9-10 lbs 🩵LIKES:  Attention, getting petted, Napping and going outside. Someone that will respect him and love him. He is the sweetest little guy, and we promise to find him a forever family who will love him. Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1 1/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue. Story
Meet Bella she’s a 5/6 year old Yorkie, that was surrendered to rescue when her owner realized she couldn’t give her the kind of care she deserved. Bella loves to be with her person, following them like a shadow, and sitting on their lap. She does well with other animals, and will co live with them but isn’t much of a player when it comes to them, and will keep to herself. She loves to be warm, so a nice blanket, bed or lap is where she likes to spend her time. She would to best with a home with kids over the age of 7 years old atleast, she prefers a calmer home. She is working on her house training and will use a pad 95% of the time, she will go potty outside if you take her though. She does well in a crate if needed. Loves car rides, and travels well on a plane too. Bella just wants all the love and to be babied by her person.  Bella does have a grade 3-4 heart murmur and a heart valve leak.  We did have her seen by a Cardiologist and she had an echo done on her heart. They said this is common in small dogs and it is very mild and not effecting her life.  She does not need meds at this time and her activity level is not restricted.  They did suggest an adopter bring her back in 6-9 months just to follow up and maybe do another echo. cost is approx $600-$800.   She was just spayed and got a dental as well.   This animal is current on all age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed/neutered or will go home with an already scheduled appointment. They have also been given flea prevention. Adoption fee is $350.00. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an application. http://www.ajssearchandrescue.org/adoption-applicationFebruary 24, 2025, 9:53 am
