Story
Are you the person we (and Maisy) are looking for? Maisy is a character for sure, so read on! Maisy came to us when she was dropped off due to her family not being able to take care of her. Maisy was so terrified that it took us several days to convince her she was safe, and she didn't have to be so defensive. When you first meet Maisy, you realize that she epitomizes the "Crabby Abby" stereotype - if you aren't patient and cat savvy, this girl will detect it in a heartbeat and treat you accordingly. When Maisy came, she was accepting and liked the other cats, but they started to be mean to her and bully her, so it made it hard for her to relax. Things are going better for her now, but Maisy needs her own person and home! And that person is going to have to be willing to give her time AND to accept that Maisy is a diva, a princess, and a charming and very funny lady with some possible "mean girl" tendencies. She has become an absolute favorite with all of us because we see through the exterior to the scared, hopeful, and loving kitty within. If you are an Abyssinian fan, and understand the breed, then you know her. She will be your company and want to be with you - she likes to supervise. She may not sit on your lap, but she makes her presence known. She is front declawed, so her occasional swat is harmless. Her grumbling is pretty comical. She would be fine with a gentle cat that doesn't bully her. Since Maisy is special, we are looking for a special adopter who understands cats and is willing to give her time to settle in. When she's comfortable, then she's awesome: comical, demanding, affectionate, silly, and never a problem. A quieter adult home is what she needs and where she would thrive. (And yes, she's a bit of a chunky princess!)For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/

Story
Moose is a gorgeous boy… And if you ask him, he will tell you just that. He came from a home, where he was very much loved, but he wanted to be alpha and dominant over the resident cats. The other cats in the home were seniors or special-needs, and it just did not mesh well with what he needs. His family has been simply amazing. They have tried every thing known to man to try to keep him comfortable by himself but soon realize that he needs to be in a home where he is either the only cat or can be with another cat that he can be the alpha male, he has been around children as young as nine years old and has done amazingly well. Moose is a Bengal/Aby mix, per the previous vet. he has so many characteristics of both breeds. He is very loving and loyal. He loves adventure. He loves to play nonstop, and his best form of entertainment are the cat puzzles. He is on natural balance, limited ingredient duck food, and will need to continue on this particular food. Moose 15 months old. He is up-to-date on all vaccines, combo negative and neutered. He is litter box trained. If interested in moose, please go to our website and complete an application https://acfrescue.weebly.com/forms.html Moose’s adoption fee is WAIVED!

Story
PLEASE NOTE: Marshmallow and Waffle are a bonded pair and MUST be adopted together! Marshmallow is a stunning cat with incredibly unique characteristics. As a kitten, she presented as a grey DMH with a tiny patch of white upon her chest. As she has grown older, her coloring has changed and she now appears to be a grey DSH from the torso up while her bottom half is now dilute calico! Marsh was rescued out of a condemned property along with her brother, Waffle, and their mom, Ice Cream. She is a timid girl who will need a quiet environment to get comfortable in although she does gain more and more confidence, every day. She adores her brother and absolutely loves to tussle with him around the house. She is a bit more confident than he is at the moment and he looks to her for guidance around new people. Tube treats and wand toys are the way into their hearts! Marshmallow is looking for the right forever family who will be willing to be patient with her and Waffle and give them the time to acclimate and become the lap cats they'd love to be!
