You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Albi is a wonderful, independent boy currently in foster care in Pray, MT, where he has been for the past several months. He’s smart, thoughtful, and a happy companion who loves lounging on the couch or going for walks. While he’s happy to walk on a leash, he does have a strong instinct to chase cars—something his foster is working on with him. He can be a bit of a puller when he picks up interesting scents off the path, but with firm verbal correction and leash guidance, he quickly gets back on track. Albi does get carsick and isn’t fond of car rides. At home, Albi prefers to stay and guard his space. He does show food resource guarding behavior, but his foster is working on this by feeding him separately and having him wait patiently before eating. Albi is sensitive and eager to please, making him responsive to training. He is good with some cats, but introductions should be slow and careful, especially with cats who are "runners." Albi is generally good on walks and enjoys slow, careful meet-and-greets with new people. He is protective of his yard and the door to the house, so he would do best in a home without young children, or with older teens who can respect his space. He needs experienced dog owners who understand the breed and can provide clear direction and structure. Albi knows basic commands such as Sit, Stay, Down, Shake, and Come, and he truly listens when given respect and guidance. He’s a good boy, but food aggression and counter surfing are areas that need attention. Albi enjoys companionship and seeks humans who can provide him with the direction he craves. He would thrive in a home with adults who have experience with his breed.
