Everest is a perfect example of how we need to give time to our rescues to adjust and acclimate to new environments. He is gaining weight and has been neutered and up to date with his vaccines. She is an energetic silly girl who loves to play ball. She loves her toys and chew bones like most good puppies, Peach is kennel trained, potty trained, definitely loves car rides with her people. She is a curious puppy who likes to explore her outside world listening for crickets and bugs, so sometimes she needs a reminder to make her business outside. But if you know us, he'll be back in shape in no time and living up to hi name! I know we're a Pyr rescue, but I can never say no to a big, long-legged, awkward, goofball of an Akbash. The big galoot!

Casper was found on the side of the road and taken home by a kind finder who cared for him, neutered and vaccinated and got him on heart worm prevention. He's likely mixed with Akbash another wonderful livestock guardian breeds. He's been cared for but still needs house manners and leash training but will go to his crate on demand and comes when called for. He's wonderful with kids of all ages and other dogs, not yet tested with cats. With some structure, this dog could be your bestest boy with all the great characteristics of the breed, calm, friendly, watchful, loyal, well balanced. If you're looking for a sweet, mature 3 year old, he can be your guy! More photos coming soon!

Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, and may do well with a larger female dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tyana is one of several dogs who were found on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We can only speculate, but we believe that the property owners moved away and left the dogs to fend for themselves.  Tyana's mom Lydia is VERY friendly, but her pups (two generations) are completely unsocialized, so we're guessing they may have been born after the people moved. It's quite possible that the Animal Control Officers who hauled away Tyana and her family were the first humans that she ever had any close contact with. At Windsong Ranch, Tyana is very slowly learning to trust me, but she is still extremely skittish of people in general. Getting her to walk on a leash in order to go to the vet's office is a real challenge, but we've managed it, and once at the vet's office, Tyana has remained calm and quiet. She seems content to stay inside the house, but seems happier and less anxious when she is outside. Tyana gets along well with other dogs and is very playful with them. We believe she would do best in a home with a confident male dog, who can help her see that humans are trustworthy. Due to her skittish nature, she MUST go to a home with secure (visible) fencing. If you are ready to make the commitment to devote yourself to earning Tyana's trust, please complete the application on our website. NOTE: I really struggle to get decent photos of Tyana -- she almost always looks very anxious, even when she's happy -- it's like she's in witness protection and thinks that having her photo taken puts her life at risk. In some of these photos, she is hanging out with other unsocialized or feral dogs, and moments before I pulled out my phone, they were usually happy and smiling, but as soon as I point the camera at them, most of them look like I might be about to kill them. Silly dogs. Also, in some photos, she has what looks like an injury diagonal across her face. Nope, that's just a berry stain. Tyana likes to dig, and it shows in some of these photos. She would do great paired with another medium to large sized male dog who is close to her age and loves to play. She would be okay as an only dog with an active owner/family. Cookie is very friendly and outgoing. She is still young and very puppy-like but responds well to training and direction.
