Story
Buddy is currently in Sweetwater, TN but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee! We use Rescue Riders Transport (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road! Buddy was discovered covered in ticks (14 to be exact), emaciated, and matted by a Good Samaritan who searched for his owners to no avail. They got in contact with us and we made room for this special guy at our rescue! Buddy is DEAF but he doesn’t let that stop him!! He loves to use his nose to explore the world around him and still loves to talk to you like your typical husky/malamute mix. 🥰 He can also feel vibrations and this can be a good way to get his attention. Buddy currently lives in a dog run with a doggie door and access to a potty room. Buddy has done well with the 3 year old human on the property and every dog he’s met! He does like to use his nose and paws to greet and communicate with new dogs and humans, so if your dog doesn’t like other dogs in their space, Buddy may not be a good fit for your home. He takes correction from other dogs VERY well and he is all around a goofy, even tempered guy! One of our wonderful volunteers has been working with Buddy on learning hand signals and he is very smart! He knows ‘sit, come here’ and is learning other commands as well. He was cat tested and did great! Please contact us if you would like videos of this interaction! He weighs approximately 69 lbs but is a big boy and is expected to be around 90-100 at his ideal weight! The vet believes he is around 2-3 years old.

Story
Hi. My name is Nyla! I am 4 years old. My birthday is November 4th 2019. My whole life I have lived in the same home with my family. I have experience with two young babies. Although I can be very energetic, I do love a good belly rub. Some tricks I learned at home were play dead, sit, stand, speak, roll over, lay, shake, and even what’s up! I am a happy and very playful dog. I love going on walks, but going to the dog park is my fav!! I get along with big and small dogs. My favorite snack is definitely apples and peanut butter. I am super food motivated. I hope to find a new home with a loving energetic family just like me!

Story
Meet Rocky! Rocky came to us in 2023 as part of a humane case. Rocky is now ready to have a fresh start! Rocky is a big guy with an even bigger personality. This playful fluffball loves nothing more than running around and playing with toys! He loves to chase after stuffies and carry them around. Once he is comfortable with you, Rocky is a ball of love. He loves to roll around and get belly rubs and will bring his toys over to play! Rocky has done well with grooming when done in little bits at a time. He enjoys being outside and has a blast simply sniffing out new smells. Rocky will need to learn some basic commands, and some leash training as he can pull a little. Rocky has lived with other dogs and does well with them. While at the shelter Rocky has done well with cats but does not do well in a home environment with them. At this time we are recommending he be in a cat-free forever home. We would recommend a home with older children because Rocky spooks easily. Rocky can be a bit cautious of seeing new people, especially men, so he will need a patient home where he can build his confidence when meeting new people! If Rocky sounds like the perfect dog for you, please fill out an application for him today! Rocky is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped

Story
Sandy is a very cuddly, loving malamute male who loves people but not other dogs. He came from a tough background, fighting with male dogs, and being crated most of his life. Given this, he can be jumpy and leash reactive toward other animals. We've had him professionally trained by multiple trainers, and he's learned to successfully walk on a leash, he doesn't resource guard with food or toys. He'd be best suited for a space where he's not walking around other dogs constantly - a quiet neighborhood or big yard/farm. We've seen him with kids on a few occasions and he appears to behave well. Most of all, he craves affection and wants to be hugged/cuddled at every opportunity. He doesn't love car rides, but he'd make a great house companion, and really has a heart of gold despite being reactive toward other dogs.
