Story
Meet Shorty! A loving eleven-and-a-half-year-old American Bobtail from Oklahoma City, OK, whose affectionate nature is as heartwarming as her unique little gallop of excitement. With her striking brown tabby coat accented by soft touches of white, she’s a picture of charm and elegance—wrapped up in a perfectly petite, 8-pound frame! Shorty is a cat who truly adores people. Whether it’s curling up in a warm lap, soaking in all the attention she can get, or being picked up for a snuggle, she thrives on human connection. She’s the kind of feline who will greet you at the door like an old friend and settle in beside you for a cozy nap. But don’t be fooled by her senior status—she still has a playful spark! She’ll break into spontaneous zoomies, galloping across the room like a tiny, four-legged racehorse, just to keep things interesting. And if she spots a bird outside? Expect some delightful chattering as she shares her commentary on the neighborhood wildlife. Shorty is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations, making her ready to step seamlessly into a new, loving home. She has a gentle, friendly nature and is great with young children and even dogs, but when it comes to other cats, she prefers to keep her space. Ideally, she’s looking for a quiet home where she can be the star of the show—somewhere she can soak up attention, explore her surroundings at a leisurely pace, and claim the coziest sleeping spots as her own. One of her little quirks? She has a fascination with plastic bottle caps. Forget fancy toys—give her a cap, and she’ll be entertained for hours! Supervised backyard adventures are another favorite pastime, where she can bask in the sun and take in the sights and sounds of nature. Are you ready to welcome this affectionate, people-loving, bottle-cap-chasing sweetheart into your home? Shorty is eager to find a cozy spot in your heart. Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet her today!

Story
Hello there, I'm Maxie! I'm a sweet, and gentle soul. My family left me to be put to sleep but the vet just couldn’t do that. The vet reached out to Texas CARES to help me. I'm FIV positive, but that doesn't change who I am. It doesn't make me any less loving or playful. I still purr when you pet me, and I still curl up in your lap when you're reading a book. I'm just like any other cat. So, why should you adopt me? I'm a friend, a companion, a listener. I'm the quiet comfort on a tough day and the gentle purr that lulls you to sleep. I'm just a cat who wants a loving home. NOTE: Maxie has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).   Many FIV+ cats can live long, healthy and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all, especially when raised exclusively indoors. However, FIV can weaken a cat’s immune system over a period of years so proactive vet care is crucial. FIV is not communicable to people or other pets such as dogs, rabbits, etc. The virus is not spread among cats through casual contact such as shared food/water/litter, mutual grooming, or playing. It is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds inflicted as part of serious aggression among cats.  March 9, 2025, 10:39 pm

Story
Meet Stevie! Stevie is a cute American Bobtail mix born late May 2024. Stevie was found in a carrier with her mom and bobtail siblings, abandoned under a shade tree in the front yard of strangers. Luckily for this adorable family, they were quickly discovered before the heat of the day, brought to the vet for care, and all display excellent heath. Stevie is the boss of the family—she chooses her food bowl first and discourages her siblings (and mama!) from trying to share with her. She’s also the brave explorer of new rooms and the quickest to check out new people or pets. If there’s a door, she wants to know who and what is behind it. Stevie is full of curiosity and courage, and she LOVES to talk about her experiences with her foster family. Stevie has a lot to say about everything and is enjoyably conversational, full of expression and waggling her little tail nubbin adorably. If you’re looking for a confident, lively companion to add to your young family, Stevie Girl is the kitten for you.  Stevie should not have trouble getting use to other pets in the home if introduced slowly and properly. She is vetted and has excellent litter manners. You must submit an application to be considered for adoption. We cannot reply to all inquiries, but respond to all no obligation applications. Fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/cat-adoption-application It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. Fee is $250 which includes first years vaccinations, combo testing, spay and microchip.

Story
Meet Alexis! Alexis is an American Bobtail mix born in late May 2024. Alexis was found in a carrier with her mom and bobtail siblings, abandoned under a shade tree in the front yard of strangers. Luckily for this adorable family, they were quickly discovered before the heat of the day, brought to the vet for care, and all display excellent heath. Alexis is the smallest sister and defers to her more bossy siblings around food and when checking out a new environment. But once a space is deemed safe, Alexis goes all-in for some fearless, top speed playtime. Her coloring, tail-less booty and the way she moves makes her look like a baby bunny zooming around the room. Her hops and jumps while running are delightful. And when she’s burned off her energy, she loves to curl up on the closest soft location for a long, proper nap. Alexis should not have trouble getting use to other pets in the home if introduced slowly and properly. She has excellent litter manners and is vetted. Her antics will bring smiles and laughter to her fur-ever family, while her sweet deference will allow for lasting companionship. Could this little bunny kitten be the girl you’ve been looking for? Story
Krey along with 6 other siblings were left at my door in a gift bag in July 2024. At that time they looked to be about 3 weeks old at the most. I took them in of course. Krey has now been with me since that day. And, what a gift he is. Don't let the pics fool you he's going to be a big boy. But, he’s extremely gentle. He’s never scratched me. He's so loving. He loves to play with his baby sister. He loves to play with my puppy. I don't have children so I'm not sure how he would do but I bet he would be fine. He loves his treats. He has the sweetest personality. Krey will be neutered on 4/4. And will receive his rabies shot then. I want to make sure he goes to a very good home where he will be loved and well taken care of. If you're interested in meeting Krey please let me know. Thank you! Stacy
