Story
Meet Morgan! She is a 2 year old Bully breed mix. She is an INCREDIBLY fun-loving pup. She absolutely LOVES to learn and will make a perfect adventure pal. She especially gets along best with male dogs. We sent her to CRT K9 to undergo training and she is ready for adoption! They've tested her for search/rescue work, as well as climbing work, jump work, and running. She passes every qualification test with flying colors! She thrives in everything. We've never seen a pup so capable of so much. She'll do best in a home without small animals (she has prey drive ), or other female dogs.November 21, 2024, 12:16 am

Story
DOB: August 2015Weight: 80lbsTemperament: Easy-going, Happy, FriendlyFrom: Handsome Oslo came to us from a shelter in Moreno Valley, CA. He had many ticks and fly strike when found, and had probably been an outdoor dog. Oslo has captured the hearts of volunteers with his sweet temperament. He gets along well with other medium-large dogs in his play group. If adopted into a home with another dog, he needs leadership and guidance to be the best version of himself. Oslo is housebroken and is great with people!Best Attribute: He's the chillest boy this side of the Mississippi.Area of opportunity: He can be protective of his home if he believes it to be his responsibility and thus needs a solid leader to set the boundaries. If you're a sucker for a dog with a big head and equally big heart, apply to meet him today at www.thebarkinglot.net/adopt!To initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below. Story
After picking Harvey (Colin) up from the Moreno Valley Shelter, he has proven to have some of the best qualities of a true American Bulldog. He is people friendly, confident but not dominant (as long as you let him know you’re the boss), strong, energetic, ready to please, and he loves car rides. He has been neutered and is up to date on vaccines. He is crate trained. Now that he has a routine here at the rescue, he gladly walks in his crate when he knows it’s time to settle down for a while! He is house broken and does his business outside every time. Just make sure he has his place to go outside at home and that he goes out at regular intervals. He will do his business on walks too. He loves to go on walks or have plenty of fenced yard to play. He is already a great leash walker! American Bulldogs dogs are known to get into mischief in the house without exercise. When he’s ready to relax, he will sit right next to you and enjoy being close to his human. He responds well to “sit,” “come,” and “give paw.” Harvey would probably be best with an active person or family or a family with older children (12 or older) due to his size. He needs to be the only pet in the house. Harvey suffered significant left-side facial trauma due to dog bites before we rescued him but the shelter vets did a great job repairing the damage, His hair is growing back well and the vet said there is no other damage other than to his skin. He certainly has a unique look though! Many people stop us on walks and are struck by his good but slightly unusual looks. “Handsome boy!”, “Cool dog!” are a few comments we receive while on walks with him. There are some manners that need to continue to be worked on but we both have commented that Harvey might be the most well behaved bulldog we have rescued. This is our first American Bulldog at the rescue and from our research on the breed, he has most of the best attributes of the breed! (https://www.dailypaws.com/dogs-puppies/dog-breeds/american-bulldog) If you’re looking for a new companion, consider Harvey!

Story
Luna is a friendly, people-loving bulldog mix who’s looking for her forever home. At approximately 3 years old and 53lbs, she’s the perfect size for cuddling, and she has a calm, gentle temperament with only the occasional bark. Luna is housebroken, knows basic commands like “sit” and “shake” (paw), and enjoys her daily walks, sunbathing sessions, and chewing on her favorite toys. While she’s a loving companion, Luna does need to be the only pet in the household and would thrive in a home with no children under 12. She’s up to date on all her vaccinations and in excellent health. Luna is ready to bring joy to a person or family who wants to give this sweet, deserving girl a second chance at the loving home she deserves.

Story
Attention Active Dog Lovers, Boxer and Ridgeback Enthusiasts! Meet Groot! Current Location: Rockdale, TX Hey there! I’m Groot, a 3-year-old Boxer/Ridgeback blend with a heart of gold and a comedic personality. From California to Texas, my journey has brought me to a sunny sanctuary in Texas where I've been living my best life, running free and making friends. But now, I’m on the lookout for a forever home. Although I'm currently in Texas, I'm ready to take my comedy on the road for the right family! What Makes Me Special I’m Affectionate: my cuddles are the cure for any bad day. I’m Adventurous: Whether it’s a game of fetch or a jog in the park, I’m always ready to move! I’m Friendly: Other dogs? Bring them on! My heart's big enough for everyone. I’m Funny: Need a laugh? My playful nature and silly antics will keep you entertained. I’m Smart: I’m house-trained and eager to learn—I’ve got the brains and the brawn. I’m Curious: The world is my playground, and I’m excited to explore it with you. Check out my Bucket List Hiking: I've heard about these amazing trails, and I can't wait to explore them! Beach Day: Splashing in the water and playing fetch on the sandy shores sounds like a blast. Dog Parks: I've heard dog parks are the best places to make new friends and show off my playful side. Jogging: Count me in—I'm ready to let my athleticism shine. Camping: I can't wait to go camping and explore the great outdoors. My curiosity and love for adventure make me the perfect camping buddy. Furever Home: Last but not least… I’m ready for a family with kids over 14, as my energy might be too much for the little ones. Adopt me and I’ll fill your home with laughter, love, and a whole lot of tail wags. Story
Ivy is a Courtesy Post Only and is not a Second Chance Dog Rescue dog. SCDR is not responsible for any ownership, behavior, health, and representations made by the owner with respect to this dog. You must contact her adoption coordinator Ana at Ana@thriveanimalrescue.com for further information.  Ivy is a sweet, silly, cuddly, and affectionate girl - as of September 2024, she has been with us waiting for her forever family for over 456 days which is mind-blowing to staff at Thrive because of how great of a dog she is. Let's prioritize giving this lovebug a much deserved home for her to call her own!! Personality : She is a medium to high energy dog who loves to play - she enjoys mental and physical stimulation such as going for hikes or long walks/runs. She loves playing with other dogs and her people friends, but then she’s happy to relax and sunbathe in the yard after to decompress. Her favorite move is to flop on her back and show you her belly to ask for rubs :) Her Boxer zoomies will make you laugh! Training : Ivy has been going to doggie day care multiple times per week to hang out with all of her dog friends and has been doing great!! Despite her roughhousing playstyle with other large dogs, she is extremely gentle with puppies. She walks nicely on a leash and knows basic commands.  Ivy is on a special low-fat diet and we recommend that adopters keep her on this upon adoption to ensure she’s in tip-top health. The perfect forever family : She would do great in an active household with a young couple who loves to hike or go on adventures, and is good with kids 13+. She would likely love another active doggie friend. Ivy is available for a long-term committed foster or forever family. For further information or to meet Ivy, please contact Ana, Adoption Coordinator at Ana@thriveanimalrescue.com.  December 10, 2024, 4:48 pm
