Ollie is the epitome of “main-character energy!” If you have any experience with the American bully breed, this personality description isn’t surprising. Confident, social, eager, energetic, playful and fun-loving are just a few things anyone who has met Ollie would say to describe him. Ollie is full of that classic bulldog goofiness that those familiar with the breed will appreciate. If you have fallen for that face of his and considering adopting him but do not have experience with the breed, we recommend doing some research to ensure his personality and quirks fit your life and family. Ollie is estimated to be between 9-10 months old (as of Aug. 2024) and weighs 66 lbs. He is still growing both physically and mentally and is at a perfect age for training and learning all about being the best boy. Ollie’s playfulness looks great on him most all of the time, except for on leash. He is working on leash training along with gentle-leader training. He is a big boy with so much enthusiasm for life that continued leash-training and becoming familiar with the gentle leader will be an important part of Ollie’s training. He is a beef-cake with aspirations for lap-dog life. With seeming no concept of his size when it comes time to snuggle, Ollie needs someone with enough physical presence to hold their own as he tries to get you to play or when he is coming in for snuggles. His size and friendly nature makes kids giggle but Ollie isn’t quiet polished enough to live with littles. When he gets the zoomies he is bound to knock down anyone with less than steady legs and even though he means no harm he needs to get through his crazy-teens before being a father. An ideal home for Ollie would be a house or a condo with no downstairs neighbors. That sounds silly but imagine being the downstairs neighbor when the zoomies come over Ollie! A herd of hippos is what I imagine it might sounds like and we don’t want you to suffer any complaints for having such a happy dog. If you have a dog who’s play-style could be described as rough and rowdy, Ollie would love to be their new bestie. He is good with other dogs but his play style isn’t for the dainty, an energetic and physical match would be ideal. And don’t worry, when it comes time for adventures or errands, if you open the car door, Ollie can take it from there, hopping right in to secure his seat.
