Are you looking for a dog that will keep you motivated to stay out of that couch potato routine? Jolene is a beautiful 2 year old bully! (she is not an American Bulldog but we did not have the choice to pick a bully)She is very athletic and energetic so she could keep up easily with a hiking family or someone that like to go on runs! She is an athletic girl about 50 pounds. House and crate trained. Her previous family fell on hard times and was unable to care for her properly anymore so sought the help of rescue. She is a bit underweight as of now but we are working on boosting that! Jolene was HW positive on intake and she has been through the complete heartworm treatment, is now recovered and ready to live her life to the fullest!! Jolene is currently fostered in Tampa, Florida where she is available for adoption. She will arrive in Albion, NY in mid March if she is not adopted in Florida and we would love to have a family waiting for her! Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and transported to NY. Bubbles is a beautiful spayed female Boxer Mix She just graduated for our Path To Home Program which involves obedience training for 8 weeks. Bubbles is housebroken, crate trained and good with other dogs but no cats please. She LOVES to play ball and would probably do it all day if she could. Bubbles is a very affectionate dog with a sweet personality. She is currently at the Shelter. Volunteers For Animals and Orleans Correctional Facility have developed a Dog Training & Fostering Program within the prison that will provide socialization and basic obedience training for the dogs before being adopted. Volunteers For Animals will be pulling dogs from high kill shelters and locally who may be in need of behavioral support to become more adoptable. The dogs will then be transported to Orleans Correctional Facility where they will live with selected inmates who will care for them 24 hours per day for approximately 8 weeks. Each dog will have a crate, bedding, leash, collar, training treats, and food provided by Volunteers For Animals. A certified dog trainer will provide weekly training classes for the dogs and the inmates. The inmates will then work daily to reinforce the formal training with the dogs. Adoption Procedures The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the Path Home animals are $200 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. All of the dogs are current on vaccines, heart worm tested and spayed/neutered. If you would like to be considered for any of the Path to Home dogs, please email us. Please do not call the Shelter regarding Path Home animals - they do not have any information. Email us at info@vol4animals.org regarding this program. Here is the adoption process: To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.
