Story
Hi there, I'm Max. My age has given me wisdom and a love for the simple things in life. I'm a sweet, friendly soul, always curious about the world around me. I can be a bit goofy at times, but that's part of my charm. I'm smart too, always eager to learn new things. Cuddles? Oh, I'm a big fan! I'm just a sweet and happy medium energy guy!I've never met a cat before, so the people here aren't sure how I would do with them, and I prefer to be the only dog in the house. I've never been around kids either, but I'm such a friendly guy, so I would probably be ok with dog savvy children. Walking me might be a workout, I do love to pull on the leash. Apartments aren't really my style, I could run into another dog in those narrow hallways and I'd really rather not do that. I need space to roam and sniff. I am a Special Paws pet in the Signature Pets Program because I have allergies that will likely require some extra care to keep under control and managed. Since I am a Special Paws pet, my adoption fee is up to you!Adopt me, and I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and endless curiosity.

COMING SOON- NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION (NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT UNTIL FULL BIO IS POSTED) Welcome Ginny who they called a shorty at the shelter she came from.Ginny is a gentle soul that is recovering from her spay and dental, she will be available for adoption in a few weeks.Hi 🐾 my name is Ginny … my foster mom also calls me love-bug and lovie. I don’t know why??…as soon as I see humans I get so excited, I want to jump on their laps and lick their faces because I love them soooo much! I don’t mind my foster dog and cat sisters but I want more human laps to snuggle 🥰 on. As much as I’d probably like a little human , I might knock them over … I don’t mean to but I am so happy to see them as well. Can I sit on your lap as well? Please!!!!

Story
Hi there! My name is Walter. I am a senior-ish boy – estimated around 8ish and I am mostly blind (but don’t let that stop you). I was left tied up outside the shelter – talk about being scared! When I first came to my foster home, I was feeling upset in my tummy for several days, but once we got that cleared up (likely stress from being left behind and being in a shelter environment) I settled right down, started to relax and promise to give you all the love you need. Foster mom says I crave LOVE – when I lay my head in her lap and she gives me soft strokes on my face, I close my eyes and melt – I move in close and just want to touch. I like all the people who have visited and even like the little person who come in like a tornado. I am living in my foster home right now with 3 other dogs. I’m very submissive and will just roll over and show my belly – no confrontation here! I don’t really engage with the other dogs; in fact, I go out of my way to keep a bit of distance. But if they come close to my chew toys – I do let out a good growl – that’s what I’m supposed to do, right?Although I am mostly blind (I can see shadows) I get around great! My nose is simply fabulous…. I’m a mixed breed, part American Bulldog and part Vizsla - so I excel at sniffing! I learn very quickly – for example, after only a few days, I know exactly where to go for dinner time. I’m not very big, only 55lbs (foster mom calls that small compared to 110lbs Lucy!)I am mostly quiet in the house, unless Lucy starts to bark – then I join in - not always sure why though! When I am outside, I like to lay in the sun – I can hear stuff, new things will get me barking – but once I get used to it, it doesn’t set me off (ie. neighbors using clothesline) BUT I can hear those pesky squirrels in the trees – I bark to warn mom they are getting close – she laughs because I am usually looking up at the sky when I bark! She is working on “quiet” as my word when I start barking, but the most effective is we do a nose bump on her open hand…. I settle right away.I go on walks with the other dogs and enjoy stretching my legs. I’m in really good shape, but my skin is still improving. I am taking an allergy pill every day (Apoquel). I’m much better but we still aren’t exactly sure what the allergies are (My allergy test is getting processed but still waiting for results). Foster mom gives me a bath every couple weeks and I’m good for it when she puts the peanut butter on the lick mat (sure hope I’m not allergic to THAT!) I would prefer to live in a house, maybe in the country? If you think we may be a good fit I can’t wait to meet you – I need my own person / family. Located in Belleville

Story
Hi. I'm Ricky and I'm totally adorable. My foster family says I'm a bit of a gremlin boy but it's because I'm a baby and full of curious and rambunctious energy.I'm highly food motivated and will do anything for a yummy treat.I have a canine foster sister who is teaching me how to dog.I am very dog social with respectful dogs that understand I'm just a little guy and would be totally okay with a canine sibling or as the only dog in the house. My foster family has a senior cat that tolerates me so I think I would be okay with dog savvy kitties as well, just be sure to keep their food away from me because it smells yummy and I would do anything to get at it.I absolutely love babies and small children. So much so that I got over my trepidation over strollers and wagons just to make some small human friends.Speaking of tiny humans, I am a baby myself and don't realize I'm going to be a big boy, so I would definitely benefit from having a family with large breed experience who will follow up on training me not to jump up on people so I don't inadvertently hurt them or knock them over.I do fantastic in my crate at bedtime and am able to sleep through the night without an accident. My house training is a work in progress but I'm getting better every day.I would benefit from basic obedience classes to help me socialize and to give me something to focus my energy on. I'm really smart which leads me to mischief when I get bored.I like going on trail walks with my foster family and following my foster fur sister into the water when FD takes her in.If you want a snuggly, fun-loving boy who will do anything for a treat, I'm your guy!Located in WaubausheneThe following vetting has been completed - de wormed- neutered- 1st and 2nd vaccines ( owner will be responsible for final booster/rabies) - micro chipped
