Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Brief description: Elliot is a sweet little low-rider fellow who wants to be by your side at all times. Weighing in at about 40 lbs, he is a perfect lap dog. He’s your ride or die, always willing to do whatever you’re in the mood for, whether its having a lazy on the couch or taking a hike in the woods. He enjoys being around people and just wants to be the center of attention. He’s house and crate trained and responds well to commands. He is quite the quirky character and will make you laugh with the way he hops around when he’s happy or lays with his legs straight up in the air when he’s sleeping. Likes: Loves attention from his humans. He likes to sit by your feet all day, whether you’re working at your desk or watching TV, he’ll be right there with you. Did you say ‘get the ball?’ Elliot’s favorite game is playing fetch. This makes him very happy, and you can tell because he starts hopping like a bunny when he’s playing fetch to show his enthusiasm. He’s very food motivated and will do anything you ask him when a treat is involved. Dislikes: The only thing that seems to annoy him is when his foster brother tries to hump him, but to be expected, lol! Personality: Elliot is very cuddly and touchy and wants to be involved in everything you do. He doesn’t know the concept of personal space. He listens well and is down for anything; he can be spunky or chill and will adapt to your mood. He has a very happy-go-lucky attitude and just wants to please you. If you’re looking for a snuggle companion, he’s your guy. Temperament: Very friendly to everyone he meets and can be quite the little ham. When he wants attention, he’ll jump right into your lap and stare up at you until you pet his head. He is always good for a laugh with his quirky little ways. If traveling is your thing, he’s good in the car, enjoys taking walks, and adapts well to new environments. But what he enjoys most is being a lap dog. Energy level: Spurts of energy when he wants you to play, then other times he is very chill and lazy. Favorite activities: Playing fetch with the ball, walks, car rides, playing with toys, and chilling on the sofa. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Elliot would probably be best as an only dog or in a home that has a calm or older female dog. He has been around other male dogs but takes a while to warm up to them. He has a few scars around his face, so he may have been attacked by other dogs who weren’t so nice to him in his past life. He seems to get along better with calmer dogs who aren’t intrusive of his personal space. He’s good with people in general; men, women, & children. Kids under 10 are probably not good idea only because he can get wound up and hyper-focused on his toys, especially when playing with his ball. Not good with: He’s never been around cats so not sure. Housetrained: YES, Elliot is fully house trained. As soon as you let him outside, he’ll pee and poop right away, he doesn’t waste any time doing his business so he can get right back to you. Crate trained: Yes. If you say “crate” he’ll walk right in and waits for his treats. Other times, he goes in by himself just to chill. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)?: Elliot would do fine either with or without a fenced yard. He has a good recall, but still needs to be leashed for safety.   Walks well on a leash?: Does well on a leash and enjoys taking walks. Doesn’t pull and listens well. Challenges: He’s very easy going and adapts quickly to his environment. However, he has a tendency to be very invasive of your space and will try to get in your lap at all costs, whether it means stepping on your laptop or knocking your drink out of your hand. But that’s being pretty nit picky, as he’s a pretty darn near perfect. Any Medical issues?: No What would be the best kind of home?: Elliot would do well in a home that gives him plenty of lap-time, snuggles, and attention. He would do well as an only dog or in a home that has a calmer, more chill dog. If you work outside of the home, that’s no problem. He’s house-trained and well-behaved; he doesn’t chew or get into things he not supposed to. He’d probably do best with kids over 10 only because he can be intense when he plays and gets hyper-focused on his toys. Story
Meet the charming Remy, believed to be around 7 years old and discovered as a stray. This 57-pound brindle bulldog is an absolute sweetheart with a gentle and quiet demeanor. Remy is fully vetted, microchipped, and ready to embark on a new chapter in a loving fur-ever home. All he desires for Christmas and the New Year is a caring family to call his own. Dog-friendly and people-friendly, Remy yearns for someone to love him and provide the stability he deserves. Despite having once belonged to someone, he found himself alone and unwanted, perilously close to being euthanized when our rescue intervened. Now, the focus is on finding Remy the perfect forever-loving home where he can thrive. If Remy has captured your heart and you are interested in offering him a home, please visit our website: https://Serendipityanimalrescue.org for more information, application, or to make an inquiry.

Story
Meet Couch Potato! Wait, that’s not right….. Meet Polly! Polly is a 2 1/2 yr old 45 lbs purebred American Bully. We need to measure her but we think she meets the “Pocket” size variety. She was found on the streets in Louisiana and we don’t know where she came from or how she ended up there. She has been in several foster homes in Louisiana and is now in Warrenton, Virginia and hoping to find her furver. She has lived with various dogs, one house had cats and she wasn’t impressed with live chickens. She said that looks like to much work and just take her to Chick-Fil-A please. She showed no interest in bothering horses or cattle either so should do fine in a home with a variety of animals. She is housebroken and good in a crate and walks politely on a leash. She is a very low energy girl and while she enjoys checking out the neighborhood she definitely isn’t looking for much hiking or running in her future. Due to her breed we need to limit her adoptions to homes that are not rentals and any children need to be over 13 yrs old. Most of her foster homes were single adult and fairly quiet homes so she is still adjusting to a busier household with her VA fosters. She is very smart and listens well and should settle into a permanent home quickly. If you are interested in Polly please submit an application. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: yes for both! KNOWN LIKES: kisses, people, dogs KNOWN DISLIKES: None currently known. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Cocoa, a resilient and sweet 4-year-old pup with a heart full of love to give. Cocoa's journey hasn't been an easy one, she faced the threat of euthanasia at a high-kill shelter after testing positive for heartworms. But thanks to a compassionate volunteer who stepped in, she found a temporary foster home where she received the life-saving treatment she needed. Now heartworm negative, Cocoa is healthy, happy, and ready for a fresh start. She is housetrained, crate trained, and an all-around easy companion. Cocoa loves to give kisses and thrives on affection, making her a perfect addition to any loving home. Cocoa has been a wonderful addition since her arrival. She has not had any accidents indoors and adapts well to her crate. Although she may whine initially when placed inside, she typically calms down quickly. She sleeps soundly through the night in her crate but also appreciates resting at the foot of the bed. Her interactions with her foster’s children have been exceptional; she delights in running around with them and showering them with affection. Additionally, she enjoys playing in the yard with the resident dog, engaging in games of tug-of-war. When excited during playtime, she eagerly anticipates interaction with the other dogs. When the foster hosted other dogs for pet-sitting, Cocoa has been introduced to them successfully and has played amicably with several dogs simultaneously. However, she is not submissive; if another dog attempts to nip at her or behaves too roughly, she will assert herself. She responds well to corrections when I notice any rising tension between her and another dog. Cocoa is very gentle when accepting treats from her foster or the children. While she excels at the "sit" command, the foster is also focusing on teaching her other basic commands. She appears eager to learn, especially when treats are involved. Cocoa is an affectionate and cuddly dog who enjoys giving kisses. If you are searching for a loyal and affectionate companion with an inspiring story, Cocoa is ready to meet you and fill your life with unconditional love. Story
Attention all Bulldog lovers! This adorable Bulldog named Sweet Tart is in search of her forever home. She may be a bit bossy, but she's also housebroken and crate trained (although she's not a fan of the crate), she is also great for baths and getting her nails trimmed. One thing is she absolutely adores is food - she can't get enough of it! However, she would do best in a home without small children, and if there are other furry friends, she'll need to be fed separately. While she may not fully grasp the concept of playing with other dogs, she loves to snuggle up to them. Sweet Tart is known around the house for her slobbery kisses and will gladly climb onto your lap with her bulky body. With her stubborn and delightfully demanding bulldog personality, she's not afraid to bark and demand her meals when she thinks they're overdue. Her tongue is always hanging out, adding to her irresistibly cute appearance, especially when combined with her adorable underbite. And if that's not enough, she also comes with the bonus of mystery allergies-thanks to some Benadryl it is easily controlled. This sweet old gal has come a long way, and we're thrilled to see her find the loving home she deserves after all this time. If you are interested in adopting Sweet Tart, please fill out an application today!December 2, 2024, 4:26 pm
