Story
We adopted Belle at the end of 2019 as a lost dog in the Boston area. She was found malnourished, with gum disease and severe matting. As a result, most of her teeth were surgically removed and she was shaved. However, she is highly food motivated and quickly returned to a healthy weight and has regrown her majestic coat. With her regal bearing and adorable trot, Belle is a truly lovely lady. She does not get along with most other dogs, especially if they are overly playful, but she has mellowed out over the years and barks at strangers less. At the time of adoption, she was estimated to be 6 years old, making her 10 now. Some senior dog issues have arisen as she is having more accidents in the home, is less energetic than she once was, and is showing signs of joint issues. We believe that the right home could help her problems but, with our new daughter only a few months old, we don't have enough time and energy to give her all of the love and attention she needs and deserves.

Story
Meet Gretel, a 2- to 3- year old spayed and healthy Eskimo mix (DNA results are available). She is 26 pounds (a smaller dog), is microchipped plus up-to-date on all shots. Gretel was a stray who showed up at my cousin's house in SC and we drove down to fetch her. She is super smart, sweet and loving, and highly trainable. Unfortunately, she is not happy being in a home with other dogs and has some trouble showing restraint with cats. She is fine when meeting a dog on the street but just doesn't want to share her human with one. These conditions aside, she will make an excellent companion for someone who wants an only-dog. Her loyalty, loving nature, and eagerness to please will take the relationship far. I am very upset to rehome Gretel but have come to accept she is not happy in our home as it is set up. Bottom line is what is best for Gretel.
