Story
Who's that girl? It's Stiletto! Stiletto is estimated to be about 1.5 years old and is little miss personality. She has legs for days and is a goofy girl who always finds a way to make you smile. She is the perfect mix of playful and sweet and can't wait to find her fur-ever family. Stiletto weighs about 8lbs, but is a little underweight and needs to gain more weight. Stiletto came to us from a local shelter after she was found wandering the streets as a stray. She was never claimed by an owner and was very stressed at the shelter with all the chaos. She has been thriving in foster care and has shown she is a mellow gal once away from the craziness. Stiletto is a true lovebug who loves cuddles and being with her people. She will never turn down an opportunity to snuggle up with her foster parents. She enjoys her daily walks and has just enough energy to encourage you to get out and about every day. She is very food-motivated and needs a family committed to continuing her training. She is a well-mannered girl but doesn't seem to have been taught basic commands yet. Stiletto loves other small dogs and became instant BFFs with her foster brother. She can sometimes get intimidated by large dogs but could do well with a slow introduction. We haven't seen Stiletto around cats, but she could do well with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Stiletto could do well with a family with kids 10 years and older. Stiletto has been doing very well with her housetraining, but her new family should be patient with her while she is adjusting to a new routine and environment and expect a few accidents at first. She has been doing well being crated and does well in her crate when home alone and overnight. Stiletto has mild luxating patellas in both knees. She hasn't shown to be in any pain and doesn't require any treatment at this time. She may need joint support as she ages but is a happy and healthy girl now. Stiletto is such a happy and loving girl and she deserves a family just as great as her. Story
Gentle, loyal, and oh-so sweet, Simba is the boy for you! Simba is about 4 years old and is a loving boy who can't wait to meet his fur-ever family. He can be a little anxious when meeting new people and going to new places, but once he feels safe, he never wants to leave your side. He is an affectionate boy who would thrive with a family who can help him gain confidence and shower him with love. He has an adorable little bobtail and weighs about 16lbs. Simba was surrendered to use with two other dogs after his family was no longer able to care for the dogs. He had been with the family since he was a puppy, so he understandably has been confused and anxious. As we have gotten to know him better, he has been showing us how great of a companion he is and how much of a good boy he is. The other two dogs from his home have been adopted, so now it's his turn! Simba is a stoic guy who is past the puppy crazy phase and is happy to spend his days lounging around the house or going on relaxing walks around the neighborhood. Now and then, he will want to play with a toy, but he is way more content to cuddle on the couch with his foster parents. Simba hasn't had any formal training but is food-motivated and willing to learn.  Simba seems like he would do best with a family who wouldn't have to leave him alone for long periods or often. He could make a wonderful companion for an older person or couple wanting a mellow walking buddy. Simba has done well living with both large and small dogs and seems pretty indifferent to other dogs. He would be more than happy to be the only dog so he could get all the attention to himself. He has done well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Simba previously lived with kids and could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Simba is still working on his housetraining and currently wears belly bands to avoid accidents. Once it has been longer since he was neutered, he should be better about going outside. He will need a family who can be patient with him and take him outside often. Simba has done well being crated when alone and overnight. He also would love to sleep in bed with you if you'd let him.  Simba is such a darling boy and deserves a fresh start with a family just as great as him. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Simba's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application.
