Natasha`s got the cutest smile - plus she`s always so excited to get out and play with her humans! Stuffed toys are her favorite. She seeks affection from people but may prefer slow introductions to other dogs. @vcanimalservices You may recognize Natasha from previous posts. Sadly, this one is a plea for help. ?? Natasha is the sweetest little soul who loves curling up in a ball and playing with stuffies. She’s been in and out of our care for several years with recurring skin cancer. She recently underwent a second surgery to remove some masses on her belly, which may return. Ongoing treatment is not feasible in shelter and frankly - isn’t a good life for this girl. What Natasha really needs is a loving home with someone who will manage her sun exposure and monitor her skin closely. She has done well with dogs of a similar size, but needs a home with no small animals. We are hoping someone with a heart for pitties is willing to take on Natasha. Please come meet this little sweetie and give her a chance. ?? open to an adopter or rescue. Located in Camarillo, CA. ? not a lot, just forever - Adrianne Lenker

Spots is fast learner who already knows place, sit, and touch! He`s smart and silly and will do just about anything for a treat. @vcanimalservices Meet 4y/o Spots! Spots is intelligent and goofy. He knows lots of basic commands and with his love for treats, the possibilities for learning are endless! He loves to flop over on to the ground (see end of video) ?? His volunteer friends like Masha love taking him to the park, where he walks well on leash. He’d likely prefer a life as the only pup, but may be open to slow intros with the right dog. To adopt Spots, come visit him from 1-6PM Tues-Sun. He is currently at our Camarillo shelter, but check our website for more up to date info. He is posted to vcas.us/dogs ? Story
Meet Finn: The Resilient, Goofy, and Loving Boy Looking for His Forever Family Finn’s journey to this point has been one of survival, resilience, and, most of all, a deep desire for love. When he was just a puppy, he was found as a stray, weak from malnourishment and needing immediate care. Sadly, the shelter quickly realized that they couldn't give him the help he needed, and he was placed on the dreaded list. Fortunately, a rescue group stepped in, but Finn’s journey didn’t get any easier. He was shuffled from boarding facility to boarding facility, and when the rescue group shut down, Finn was abandoned along with many other dogs. We may never know the full extent of what Finn experienced in those early years, but one thing is crystal clear: he is a survivor. His past, though filled with hardship and uncertainty, has not broken his spirit. He’s become the dog he was always meant to be—joyful, playful, and endlessly loving. Today, Finn is a goofy, silly, and full-of-life three-year-old who’s finally getting to be the puppy he was always meant to be. He is absolutely amazed by the simple joys of life—like discovering the world outside! He has a boundless energy that will have him sprinting from one end of the yard to the other, leaping, jumping, and frolicking as if every day is his first day to play. Water? Splashing around is his favorite hobby, and if you take him for a walk, he’ll zoom around like he’s just been given a new lease on life. Training has brought out the best in him, and Finn is eager to please. He knows all the basic commands and does them with such enthusiasm that you can’t help but smile. He’s been through a lot, but his love for people is unwavering. Finn has been waiting for a family of his own for so long, and he shows it every time someone comes to visit. He’ll greet you with such excitement, you might get knocked over by his signature body slam! Finn loves to cuddle on the couch, curl up by your side, and soak up all the love he’s been missing. His favorite moments are when someone gently rubs his belly, or when he can just be near the people he’s come to trust. His heart is big, and he has so much love to give. He’s ready to share it with a family who will give him the safety, joy, and forever home he truly deserves. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and be your loving companion through thick and thin, Finn might be the one for you. He’s not just a survivor—he’s a dog who’s finally ready to live his best life. Would you be the one to show him that love, joy, and stability are here to stay? Finn is waiting to find his place in your heart and home.

Story
There’s something magical about Rascal. Maybe it’s the way he runs full speed across the yard, ears flopping, as if he’s chasing the wind itself. Or maybe it’s how he’ll find the perfect sunny spot, stretch out, and bask in the warmth like there’s not a care in the world. Life has not always been kind to Rascal but there’s a sweetness in him that never dimmed. He’s not the type to give up on love, even if it takes him a little time to let you in. Once he does, though, you’ll see the silly, goofy side of Rascal that sure to keep smiling from ear to ear. The playful side, full of energy and excitement for life. He’ll race through the yard, eager to explore, and come sprinting back to you with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes that say, “Got another treat for me?” Rascal loves treats. If you want to win his heart, that's your ticket. He’ll sit, stay, and even learn new tricks just to get one. And when he’s done playing and learning, Rascal will settle into one of his favorite places - the nearest sunbeam. Watching him snooze peacefully in the sunlight, you’d never guess he had a rough start in life. Rascal is a sweet little snuggle bug with a deep affection for anything soft! If it’s fluffy, cozy, or cushy, Rascal is all in. He’ll happily curl up on the softest blanket or pillow he can find, making sure to get as comfy as possible before settling in for some quality cuddle time curled up next to you on the couch, nuzzling into your lap and soaking up all the affection he can get. Rascal’s journey hasn’t always been easy, but he’s ready for his next chapter. Could you be the one to show him what love and security feel like? Come meet Rascal, and you’ll see—there’s a bright light behind those soulful eyes, just waiting for the right person to bring it out. Reach out to us today to find out more about Rascal or to schedule a meet a greet. Please be sure to include a phone a number you can be reached at.

Story
Meet Ryder: A Gentle Soul Searching for His Forever Home Hi, I’m Ryder. I’m 2.5 years old, a mix of love and loyalty, and I’ve been waiting for someone to show me what it feels like to be truly safe. My journey so far hasn’t been easy—I spent a whole year in shelters and rescue situations, never really knowing where I belonged. It’s left me a little unsure, but I’m holding onto hope that my perfect person is out there. I’m a thoughtful, sensitive guy. When we first meet, I might hang back and observe, trying to figure out if everything is really okay. But give me some time, patience, and gentle encouragement, and I promise you’ll see my true self begin to shine. Once I trust you, I’ll show you just how big my heart is. I’ll lean in close, craving connection and soaking up the love I’ve been missing for so long. I’m curious about the world and have a playful spirit that’s just waiting to bloom in the right environment. I’m not the bold, outgoing type, but I don’t need to be. My quiet, soulful nature is my strength, and I’m looking for someone who will embrace me for who I am. I’ll give you my whole heart, and in return, I’ll ask for your understanding and love. If you’re the kind of person who sees the beauty in a gentle soul, who’s ready to be patient as I learn to trust, and who wants to build a bond that will last a lifetime, I’d love to meet you. I know that together, we can write the next, happiest chapter of my story.

***FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED - ALL EXPENSES PAID*** Mia is gentle. Loving. Perfect. She wants nothing more than to curl up beside someone, to rest her head in a lap, to know—just once—that she is safe. That she is home. For four long, soul crushing years, Mia knew nothing but waiting. 1,460 days - nearly half of her life - spent in a shelter or boarding facility. Watching others come and go. Watching life pass her by. Wondering why no one ever chose her. But Mia was born with all the wrong “labels.” She is a black dog. She is a pit bull. She is a senior. And because of that, no one even gives her a chance. She has watched younger dogs come and go, wagging their tails as they trot off to their forever homes. She has seen puppies melt hearts in an instant. She has felt time slip through her paws. But Mia remained. Overlooked. Ignored. Forgotten. Until finally, she got a second chance to feel love. A kind foster took her in and for the first time in years, she had a warm home. A soft bed. Gentle hands that pet her instead of the cold, unfeeling bars of a kennel. She started to believe she was finally safe. But it's temporary. Mia’s foster can only keep her until April. After that, she has nowhere to go. No other fosters have stepped forward. No adopters have come. And if no one does, she will go back boarding. Can you imagine the confusion? The heartbreak? The cries of other dogs, the clanging of gates and the cold floor under her paws again. How do you explain that it's not her fault? That she was good? That she deserved to stay? Mia will be devastated. She won’t understand why the warmth, the safety, the love—everything she dared to believe in—is gone. We are begging. Mia doesn’t ask for much—just love, a quiet place to lay her head, and a person to call her own. She doesn’t deserve to spend her last days wondering why she was never enough. We will cover all expenses—food, medical care, anything. Mia just needs someone to step forward before April comes and she loses everything. Please don't let her go back. Be her hero. Give her a home. Please email us at bravedogrescue2@yahoo.com.

Hello, I'm Buttercup, a young, sweet, and friendly Labrador Staffy girl. I'm as gentle as a spring breeze and as brave as I could be during my stay at the scary shelter. I'm smart too! I've figured out all the tricks the shelter staff taught me. Playful and energetic, I love a good game of fetch or tug-of-war and happy to meet the other dogs who were in here with me. I was so happy to play with them that I almost wagged my tail off !!! . But I'm not all about fun and games. I'm cuddly and love nothing more than snuggling up after a long day. I'm loyal to a fault and will always be by your side, through thick and thin. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love to your life. Please rescue me and let's embark on this beautiful journey of life together. I will love you forever and ever. PLEASE EMAIL ALPHADOGPETRESCUE@yahoo.com to request our application to meet and adopt. Story
We adopted Olive as a puppy two years ago from a local rescue. She is stubborn, loving, funny, and snuggly. When our adult children, their child, and their own 2 dogs were living with us last year, she showed some aggression toward our other dog. We separated the dogs and hired a trainer. My daughter-in-law was pregnant, and the trainer attributed the aggression to the progressing pregnancy. Once our children moved out, we slowly reintroduced our two dogs after having been separated for a couple of months. They then got along great for 8 months! However, due to unknown reasons, she attacked our other dog one morning. She is a great dog who needs to be in a dog-free and child-free home. For now, we are able to keep the two separated, but we are hoping to find someone who is looking for a potty and crate-trained sweetie pie who likes to take walks and sleep the day away.

These pups are in Camarillo, California too!

@vcanimalservices Cassadano, the boxer mix who LOVES other dogs ?? If you’ve got a rowdy dog at home who wants a playmate, Casso is a perfect candidate. If you are looking for a goober of a dog who will put a smile on your face every single day, Cassa D is the MAN. Cassadano has spent nearly a year in shelter. He can be wary of strangers, and is not the most cuddly dog out there, so is unfortunately passed over. ?? He appreciates meeting new humans slowly, but is well worth the time spent to become his friend. And if you’ve got treats… it may not take that much time at all! The best way to learn more about Cassadano is to come meet him at the shelter, but you can find him our website too at vcas.us/dogs. Currently located at 600 Aviation Drive, Camarillo CA.
