Story
Ella is an extra-special girl! She is spunky, goofy, determined, and very affectionate. She loves her toys, special treats, as well as playing in water! She even does a very cute happy dance around her favorite things! How cute is that? She has had some positive experiences with other dogs so she may do well with the right canine companion! Little Ella came to us as a young pup who had clearly already had a tough start to life. She had been surrendered to us because the family couldn't afford her vet bills after she suffered a prolapse. This young girl was pretty shut down when she first arrived but once she got comfortable and showed her silly, playful side we could see she was extra special! We don't quite know what the clinical diagnosis would be, but Miss Ella is definitely neuro-diverse. She doesn't have the same attention span as your typical dog and she tends to bounce around and move her head in figure 8's.  Ella has certain long-term fears and boundaries that would make her best suited to a family with people who will respect her and take their time with her. She is filled to the brim with love and joy for life, she just needs the right person to come along and take her to paradise! Are you looking for an extra-special dog to be your couch or walking partner? Then call the Ranch to meet Miss Ella today! You can read more about Ella here: https://rrdog.org/we-need-a-special-foster-home-for-this-unique-pit-bull-mix-could-it-be-yours/ Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing environment. Their routines include daily playgroups or partnering with dog buddies, quality time walking or being groomed, and two meals a day with dog biscuits for dessert. All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.  The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies )  APPLY NOW       January 1, 2025, 5:46 pm

Story
Meet Freya! This unique and adorable girl is longing for a home where she can give all the hugs and kisses her body can muster up. With her sweet and cuddly personality paired with her intelligence and eager to learn attitude, it's hard to believe she's been waiting so long for her person to come along and snatch her up! Could you be who she's waiting for? Freya has had positive experiences with other dogs here at the shelter and has come to prefer a more confident male companion who will still let her be in charge! She would love to go to a moderately active home where she can romp around and play fetch to keep her mind moving! She loves learning new things and already knows 'Sit', 'Down', 'Roll Over' and to take treats gently! She would likely learn much more in no time with more one on one training and become a master of obedience!  Call the Ranch to come meet Freya today! Story
Meet Henri! This big, beautiful boy loves people and playing with his doggy pals! Henri has lived at the shelter his entire life with little to no interest , and we aren't sure why! Luckily, this sweet boy got the opportunity to go into a foster home, and they sing his praises about how amazing he is!  Henri is mellow in the home and likes to be wherever his people are. He loves playing with toys or just romping around the house. He is potty trained, leash trained, knows how to 'Sit', and loves going to the dog park! With his dog-social nature, Henri may do well in a home with another dog or two but he will happily be your one and only canine friend in the home, though he would like some doggy playdates from time to time!  This outgoing young boy has been overlooked his whole life and it's time for him to find his forever home! Could you be the one he's been waiting for? Call the Ranch to meet happy Henri today! Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. Story
I am seeking a new home for a wonderful 2-year-old male dog, born on April 25th, 2022. He is a mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, German shepherd, and Labrador retriever. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is a friendly, loyal, and loving dog with a playful and energetic personality. Mac enjoys meeting new people and other dogs, has an excellent sense of smell and hearing, and is in great health. He currently lives with one dog, three cats, and has been well-socialized. Mac thrives in an active environment and requires a home with a larger property where he has plenty of space to run and play. He would do best with a family that can provide him with frequent outdoor time, walks, and engaging activities. If you are interested and believe you can provide him with the space and attention he needs, please reach out for more details. I will include a large dog kennel, a canopy seat cover for the back seat of a car, and a leash.

These pups are in Yreka, California too!

Story
Meet Samson!  This mellow older gentleman is hoping to be home for the holidays after spending over 2 years in the shelter environment! Can you believe this handsome fellow is so commonly overlooked? Samson enjoys meeting new people and just hanging out with his favorite toys and blanket. He often bunches up his special blanket and suckles on it for comfort when he is stressed here at the shelter.  Samson gets along well with other dogs and has been paired with both males and females. He even gets along well with the adolescent dogs who jump all around him and give him lots of kisses. He tends to just stand there in kind of an awkward manner until they stop so he can walk away and do his own thing.  Samson is not only friendly and easy-going, he is also very smart and eager to please. He already knows good leash manners, how to 'Sit', 'Wait', and how to 'Shake'. He will even on occasion sit on his back two legs with his front legs in the air showing off his impressive old man build! He just can't get any cuter!  Call the Ranch to learn more about this sweet older man today! Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. Story
Rescue Ranch puppies are raised through our puppy foster program. They will have met adults, children, often other dogs, maybe cats. 16-week or older puppies will have taken part in our "Reading to Rescue Pups" program and attended many events. When they are at least 8 weeks old, puppies are given a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian.  Before going home, all puppies will have been dewormed and received all age-appropriate vaccinations for parvo/distemper, and Bordetella. If they are 4 months or older they will also have their rabies vaccination. All p uppies are also microchipped and registered with  911PetChip . We require spay/neutering of puppies at 6-8 months old (or the appropriate age for giant breeds)  by our veterinarian. The procedure is covered by the adoption fee. Alternatively, adopters can choose to have the procedure done by their own vet (proof required),  and a portion of the cost will be refunded.    All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.  The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies )  APPLY NOW       February 28, 2025, 4:27 pm
