Please contact Darlene at 302-312-5129 (fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 January 5, 2025, 6:22 pm

Story
Chipotle was taken out for several Shelter Skip Days and most recently one extended into an overnight. Chipotle is a great dog, playful, sweet and affectionate and they greatly enjoyed each other`s company. Chipotle was very proud to show off his skill with basic commands, sit, down, stay, and leave it and he`s house trained. After his busy day, he fell asleep under the Christmas tree. At bedtime he enjoyed snuggling. Chipotle seems to do best in a calmer, quieter environment without too many distractions. If he sounds like your kind of dog, he comes highly recommended. We hope you will come and meet him soon.*Chipotle adoption fee is fully sponsored by one of his many admirer`s*

Story
This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
This friend has just arrived to us as a stray. When animals are found as strays, our staff will search for an owner. If no one comes to reclaim the pet, we will begin looking for a new home. Unfortunately, we rarely have a background on stray animals. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with other animals until ty have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. Story
Dog Name: Casir Breed: pit mix Sex: Male Age: 8 yrs Weight: 65 lbs Medical Needs: None Neutering is scheduled for Dec. 31st. Housebroken: Yes. May attempt to mark initially but he is housebroken Crate trained: Yes but he doesn't need it. He is a good boy Good in the car: Yes. Loves to go Good on a leash: pulls hard. A prong does help Energy level: Low. He can get excited and playful and get zoomies but that's if you get him excited. For the most part he is laid back napping the day away Need a fenced in yard: Yes Dog Friendly: Yes If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home? No. He would be totally content being the center of your world. He does play a little with his foster brother but at his age he is ready to lounge around. Cat Friendly? No Kid Friendly: Yes I would recommend older kids 10 and up. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 10 and up. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Casir is a great dog! Easy. As easy as they get. He would be a great first dog because all the work is done. He is housebroken, friendly, laid back, just an all around easy pup. He doesn't get into trouble he doesn't chew things up. He is a good boy! He does get a little excited about balls though. He loves them and may try to take them out of your hand before you realize what's even going on. Not in a mean way but in an I'm so excited to have the ball I can't help myself way and that is the reason I would recommend older kids. He also isn't gonna be much of a playmate for other dogs so young dogs probably wouldn't work as good as another older pup to lounge with. He does play but only in short increments and then it's nap time again. He loves toys! He knows sit and give paw and he knows the word ball for sure! Ask him where it's at and he will start frantically looking with excitement! Casir is definitely one of the good ones and has been a pleasure to foster. Fosters Location: New Castle, De Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application(if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your application ##2152738##
