Story
Rocco is the jolliest little guy in the world. As to his size, don't let his photo fool you. He is just 50 pounds, he is not very big. We were able to experience him while spending time at the recent Chatham Park Friend's Paws A Palooza event and he brought joy to all. He loves humans and dogs alike. This boy just wants to play. He really wants canine siblings or friends who will play. Now, he is a bully, so he needs friends who have a little chunk to them. As an addition to your family, this would be one fun, loving, ball of positive energy and affection. He is about a year and a half. Rocco came to Illinois Humane in November of 2023 at the age of 6-7 months when he had a very unfortunate meeting with a school bus. He suffered a closed compound fracture of the tibia and fibula midshaft of the right hind leg, and, the same leg, the coxofemoral head fractured completely along the growth plate separating it from the greater trochanter of femur. Surgery to repair the leg was successful. He has been fostered by a retired orthopedic nurse! In early August, foster Mom noticed that the injured leg was now rotating outward a bit and Rocco was not always putting weight on it. The doctors said this was not uncommon in a dog still growing. There was an area of the leg where the hardware was touching the bone, and the muscle mass had not returned. Corrective surgery was undertaken. Rocco has fully recovered. That right hind leg will never be absolutely 100 percent. But for all lifestyle purposes, it is sound. It does not slow him down!

This is Bailey. She was my brother's dog. He passed away in July of 2023 and my mother has been taking care of her ever since, but due to health reasons, can no longer keep her. She has been through the obedience training at Unleashed. She's very friendly, has a lot of energy and just needs a place to run.

Story
Carry Ann is an energetic and fun loving young pit bull. She is loving and loyal and has fun playing fetch, playing with her other large-breed house mate, or just cuddling up together for a night watching movies in bed. She is a bit anxious at times, but loves to meet new people and dogs. She is great with older children (I haven't had her around younger kids to know how she would act.) Carry is fully house and crate trained and I will provide her food bowls and crate to her new owners. She is completely healthy and up to date on all of her vaccinations including rabies. My present circumstances prevent me from giving her all the love and attention she needs and deserves. Please consider opening your heart to this amazing and lovable dog.
