Story
Lloyd is an older gentleman seeking a retirement home who wants a well-mannered guy who is past the puppy stages. He is estimated to be about 8 years old. He is the typical pittie who loves all people and does the happiest backend booty dance for butt scratches. Lloyd loves to go on walks, play with his toys and be around his human. Age: 8 years Breed: Pitbull/mix  Weight: ~65lbs Kid-friendly: He's a big boy so we  recommend older kiddos! Dogs: Yes, likes to go off and do his own thing though, sniff trees and walk around. Cats: No, he does have prey drive. Crate trained: Yes!  Loves to sleep by his human family though. Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: He does require Thyroid medication daily. Current medications & estimated costs: ~$25 every 2 months Adoption fee: $275 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!   November 4, 2024, 7:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Halo, and I’m as sweet as they come! If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate pup who just needs a little extra patience, I might be the perfect match for you. My favorite things are cuddles, quiet walks with my dog friends, and tasty treats—I’m very food motivated! I get along great with other dogs and even the cat in my foster home. Having a confident dog sibling would really help me feel more secure as I continue to build my confidence. I can be shy and anxious, especially with new people and busy environments, so a calm predictable home would be best for me.  I’m nervous around new people, especially men, and so I need some time and patience to warm up. But, once I do, I love to give cuddles and lots of kisses! I also get nervous around visitors, so I’ll need a quiet space to retreat to when new people come over. I’m crate trained and I do like to chew, especially on cords and shoes, so I should be crated when left alone! I have a playful side, too! I get the zoomies sometimes and love a good romp with my dog friends. Playing and stimulation is really important for me- otherwise I get bored and eat my foster mom’s shoes! I am still a puppy after all. I enjoy daily walks with my dog friends, but a quiet walking area is best for me so I don’t get overwhelmed. With time, love, and stability, I promise to be the most loyal companion and give you lots of love and kisses in return! If you’re looking for a sensitive, loving pup who just needs a little extra care, I’d love to meet you! Halo is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tobias Turnpike (aka Toby Toebeans) is as sweet as he's beefy. He's the perfect mix of cuddly, playful, and social. We believe he would make an excellent addition to any home that doesn't have a cat (since he has an intense allergy to them). True to his gentle nature, Toby lays down to get his nails trimmed, tolerates baths as long as treats are involved, and keeps his cool at the vet, even when he's being poked. While he's not a barker, he's still a great communicator. He will let you know when he needs to go potty or when he's hungry. He will grumble or come over to you and put his big paws on your lap and stare at you. When he's relaxed and enjoying snuggles, he grins, and if he wants more pets, he taps you with his paw. If you sit with Toby, he will sit beside you, rest his head on your chest, and snooze. Once he gets relaxed, he melts down to a puddle next to you. Tobias is a total cuddle bug. His favorite pastime is snuggling with his humans. We rate his cuddles A+!!  Check out this  video  of Tobias walking nicely on leash.     Tobias Turnpike is from a local shelter. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Diem—a playful, happy-go-lucky puppy with a zest for life that’s as big as my heart. I may have wobbly back legs, but don’t let that fool you! My unique walk doesn’t slow me down one bit. I’m always on the move, living life with energy and joy. Toys are my absolute favorite—whether it’s squeaky ones, chew toys, or something to chase, I’m all in. And when playtime is over, you’ll find me snuggled up for a cozy nap. I’m a pro at bedtime, settling down quietly in my kennel so you can get a good night’s sleep. I’m also working on potty training and learning to pace myself at mealtime (I get so excited about food!). Diem’s journey is a little different from other pups. She was born with a congenital spinal deformity that makes her movements unique. While her back legs sometimes have a mind of their own, she’s a determined little explorer who gets around just fine. She will benefit from continued rehabilitation to build strength and mobility, and she’s already making great progress with weekly physical therapy, which will need to be continued after adoption to support her long-term health and mobility. Diem does have urinary and fecal incontinence, which might require lifelong diaper use. Despite this, she’s an incredibly loving companion who doesn’t let her condition hold her back. If you’re looking for a special pup with a huge personality, Diem could be the perfect match. She’ll fill your days with laughter, cuddles, and so much love. Are you ready to continue Diem’s journey and give her the care and love she deserves? Diem was a stray. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Ollie! Ollie is a charming 3-year-old Pocket Pitty/Chocolate Lab mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Ollie adores attention—he loves being petted, kissed, and snuggled, and he’ll happily soak up all the affection you have to offer. Playful with both people and dogs, Ollie is easygoing and tolerant, even when it comes to having his feet handled. He has no resource guarding issues and enjoys treats, toys, and rawhides. His absolute favorite? Squeaky toys! Ollie never tires of creating his own squeaky symphony and takes great joy in tearing them apart—so supervised play is a must.  Here’s a video of Ollie playing and another video of Ollie playing.   Ollie is almost fully potty trained and will softly whine or bark to let you know when he needs to go outside. He sleeps quietly in his kennel at night but appreciates an early morning potty break. Smart and eager to learn, Ollie knows his name, responds to "kennel" and "sit," and is excited to pick up new tricks and commands. An active, adventurous boy, Ollie thrives in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can play and explore. He loves the outdoors, especially in the snow—tunneling through piles, bouncing around in pure joy, and digging for hidden treasures like sticks and balls. He plays well on his own or with his people but can be a bit rough with dogs who aren’t used to his enthusiastic style.  Because of his enthusiasm, he would do best without young kids or elderly adults. Ollie would do well as an only dog but would truly thrive with a canine buddy who matches his playful energy. He loves to climb into your lap despite his size, always eager to be as close as possible. While his excitement and strength can be a lot for older dogs or small pets, Ollie has a sweet, submissive side, especially when he doesn’t feel like going into his kennel. With his affectionate, loving nature and boundless happiness, Ollie is ready to find his forever family—one that will cherish his joyful spirit and give him all the love he deserves. Ollie is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
