If you are interested in OLIVIA or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. This adorable girl is OLIVIA! She is a sweet, sweet girl who can be a little shy when you first meet her. However watching her personality bloom as she becomes comfortable with her new surroundings is incredibly rewarding. OLIVIA is perfectly content to spend a lazy day on her dog bed watching a movie with her person, or, if you’re in the mood for some exercise, OLIVIA is there and ready. She absolutely loves going for walks and is learning how to walk well on a leash. OLIVIA is absolutely fabulous with other dogs. She is exponentially happier and more confident with canine companionship, so she is only available to forever families who have at least one other resident dog. She will fill your heart with joy and your life with happy memories for many years to come. Her $540 adoption fee covers her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area. For an adoption application on OLIVIA click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Hi!! My name is Kaela and I live in Mays Landing. Unfortunately I am here because we are not able to keep Blue Haze, our Pittbull puppy, due to new apartment management and rules. And with the new rules we figured it be best if she went to another loving family but maybe with a bigger place for her to be the wild silly girl we know she is. We first got blue from a shelter and my sister instantly fell in love with her. She has an underbite and my sister thought it was so cute we knew we had to rescue her. We also noticed what looked like a giant stye on Blues eye, which we were recommended to remove with the possibility it may come back. She has had the surgery and it did come back but she is happier than ever and it does not bother her at all. Blue is energetic, and very loving. She loves kisses and tummy rubs and any food she can get her mouth on! She just needs lots of love and kisses.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Thelma! A kind, gentle soul who found herself at the shelter after being bred her entire life and then discarded of when she was too old to produce any more babies for the profits of her owners. Her body tells a story of extreme overbreeding, including a growth on one of her mammary glands that our vet deemed benign and diagnosed as hyperplasia, an excess of tissue due to repeated breeding cycles. This lump is a result of her cruel past, and we know that her furever family will look beyond this cosmetic defect and see her for the beautiful soul she truly is. Thelma is extraordinarily kind, patient, loving and an overall joy to be around. She has been quiet as a mouse and the best house guest her foster Mom could ask for. Thelma integrated into her foster home wonderfully with both male and female pitties. She wags her tail at her foster siblings, sniffs, and then keeps to herself. She is crate trained, up to date on shots, spayed and will be microchipped upon adoption. Thelma would be a perfect dog for a beginner or a family with little to no dog experience. She is easy peasy and has so much love to give. Adopt Thelma!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 6, 2025, 6:36 pm
