Story
Grady is a 3-year-old, 48 lb Pitbull Terrier Mix Sweet Grady had a very sad start to life. He was rescued from an abuse/neglect situation with other dogs who hav all since found their forever homes. He can't wait for his happily ever after and has been thriving in his foster home. Grady asks for very little. He is just thrilled to be fed regularly and have a safe place (his crate) to rest. He has the sweetest soul, and he is one of the most beautiful pups. Grady is quiet and eager to please. He is completely house and potty-trained and crate-trained. He loves to go on walks and get treats! He meets new people easily and is gentle with everyone. Grady is comfortable around other dogs but because he may view them as rivals for resources, he would be happier if he were the only pet in the house. Grady is the perfect blend of "hey let's go for a walk" and "hey let's snuggle on the couch." If you're looking for the ultimate best friend, look no further than Grady! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. Story
Goji didn’t have the easiest start in life—he came to us with demodex mange, but after lots of care (and plenty of love), he’s now happy, healthy, and ready for his forever home! This adorable, loving boy has been at the shelter for a while, and the big world can still feel a little scary to him—hardwood floors and ceiling fans? Yikes! He can be a little slow to trust, especially with men, but once he knows you’re a friend, he’ll be snuggling up in no time. Goji is smart, eager to please, and always up for fun. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a well-matched canine companion. Toys? Yes, please! He enjoys romping around and having a blast with his favorite playthings. Goji is ready to find a family who will help him continue to build confidence and show him how wonderful the world can be. Could that be you? * Goji is in a foster home, so if you are interested in meeting him or have any questions, please reach to us!

What You’ll Love About Lydia: Enthusiastic Social Butterfly: Lydia loves meeting new people and dogs, even if she’s a little “pushy” (hey, she’s still learning her doggy manners!). Think of her as the playground bully who just wants to play but doesn’t quite know the rules yet. Cuddle Monster: Despite her big energy, Lydia has a sweet side. After a day of “toddler-ing,” she’ll be the first to curl up for a nap by your side. Eager to Learn: She’s quick-witted and ready to soak up training like a sponge—she just needs a structured environment to thrive. What She Needs: Patience & Consistency: Like any toddler, Lydia does best with a routine and structure. Active Lifestyle: She’ll be your partner-in-crime for hikes, fetch marathons, and all things fun! Lots of Love: Lydia has been at the shelter entirely too long, and she’s so ready to settle into her forever home.

Story
Meet Mae. This beautiful girl was left at the shelter by her previous owner and is still learning to trust the world again. She can be a bit insecure in new situations and with new people, but her love for those she trusts shines through. Mae is eager to please and just needs a patient, understanding family to help her feel safe. She’ll thrive in a quiet home without young children, where she can build confidence and discover how wonderful life can be. If you're ready to give Mae the love and guidance she deserves, she’ll return it tenfold.

Once she’s had her fun, Rooney is more than happy to settle in for some snuggles and quiet time with her people. We don’t know much about Rooney’s past, but it’s clear she’s known the comfort of a home before. She walks through the world with a sense of familiarity and hope, like she’s just waiting for someone to see the best in her and welcome her home for good. If you're searching for a fun-loving, affectionate companion who’s ready to make memories by your side, Rooney's a bright light who's ready for her next chapter.

Story
Meet Miracle (Mira for short), a true survivor with a heart full of love. Mira has overcome a heartbreaking past—she arrived at animal control with a chain deeply embedded in her neck, but thanks to dedicated care and time in a loving foster home, she has made a full recovery. She’s learning what it means to be a cherished pet, but nothing can replace the socialization she missed as a young dog. Mira is incredibly treat-motivated, which has helped her training progress, but she will need a patient, dog-savvy adopter that understands her quirks and loves her all the more for them. With the right adopter, Mira will continue to blossom into the happy, confident dog she was always meant to be.

Story
Bandit is a special soul with so much love to give. This handsome, shy boy is deaf and looking for a patient, understanding home where he can truly thrive. Bandit was sadly returned after a few years because the other dog in the home didn’t understand his special needs, leading to conflict. He does great with other dogs—but needs a tolerant, respectful canine friend. He knows some sign language and just needs someone willing to “speak his language” and show him that he’s safe and loved. Bandit may need a little time to open up, but once he does, he’ll be your most loyal and loving companion.

Story
Millie was found as a stray running on the side of the road. We picked her up and went to check to see if she is microchipped, got in contact with the owners and the dumped her and did not want her back. She is a relaxed girl who likes to sit on the couch and sleep all day and occasionally gets the zoomies. She does not chew up or tear up anything. She is 2-3 years old, potty trained, UTD on shots, negative for heart worms, and weights about 50 pounds. She gets along with all dogs, high or low energy. Her elbow was previously injured and the injury healed incorrectly. The vet said she is fine for now as it is not causing her pain but if it begins to cause her pain she will need medical attention which can be costly which is why we need an experienced adopter who will be able to care for her and whatever medical attention she needs. She is the most docile, quiet, and gentle girl who loves to sunbathe. She will do best in a home with a yard and one or two other doggie friends.

Story
Griffin is a 3-month-old, 16lb black and white Boxer mix. Griffin is the perfect combination of calm and puppy energy! He is currently learning how to be a dog and is having a great time figuring out what he loves to do. Griffin is learning how to walk on a leash and is doing so well learning tricks like "sit" and "paw." Since he is still learning how to walk on a leash, he will need a fenced in yard so that he can romp around safely to his puppies' hearts content. Since Griffin is still a puppy, he's working on his house manners and can be a little mouthy still but given how quickly he's learning his commands we've no doubt he'll learn his manners really soon! If you think Griffin could be the laid back pup that you've been looking for all your life, apply today!
