Story
Nala is a sweet dog that was rescued from an abusive homeless camp situation. She is approximately two years old spayed, female, up-to-date on shots, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Her past situation has given her some reactivity to other dogs so a solo dog home or very experienced handler is her ideal situation. She has been actively working with a trainer and is making tremendous progress. Her confidence is growing stronger and her reactivity is lessening. She loves all people and kids. She can play a little rough so younger kids would need to be cautious. She loves snuggles, boat rides, car rides, and generally being around her people. Please consider meeting Nala. Her adoption fee will be credited for a trainer to help transition into her new home. Fostered in Columbus, OH but will travel for the right placement.

Story
Remy, aka the House Hippo, is adoptable! She’s 5 yrs old, about 45 lbs and just the sweetest girl! Remy is spayed, up to date and no health issues. She wins everyone over in the first 5 seconds; even those that don’t appreciate the “pitbull” breeds love Remy. Remy is house trained, crate trained, and a stellar cuddler! She is off leash trained with great recall as well. She has been around horses and barn cats (she did chase so not sure how she will do with cats in the home). Remy absolutely loves car rides with you and is an exceptional traveler! Honestly if anyone knows a lonely trucker, that might be her jam! She’s been horse camping and boating on the lake; wherever you are, she wants to be! The only reason she is adoptable instead of a foster fail is because her foster mom boards dogs and Remy isn’t always happy sharing her space. She can be on leash around dogs and will not react but just doesn’t want to live with them. Remy does come with free dog boarding for her life at The Little Gnome Home located in Mansfield, OH so you never have to worry about finding a dogsitter! If interested in adopting Remy, please reach out to The Little Gnome Home at thelittlegnomehome@gmail.com or call/text 419-961-7411.

Story
What a face! Humphrey is a big doofus. When he arrived he weighed 14 lbs. He was living in a crate and being starved to death. But with the right vet care and foster he is now 40 lbs and loving life. He still wants to eat too fast so he uses a special bowl to slow him down. Humphrey is still learning he can go outside to potty and he doesn't have to do his business in his crate. At some point his ears were cut off, probably with scissors, but that doesn't seem to bother him. And it just gives him a special look, along with his squatty muscular body. He needs a strong person to help him keep learning life can be good. He can be reactive with some dogs. No idea about cats but probably should not live with them. He does think he should be a lap dog and loves belly rubs. I am in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.  February 11, 2025, 6:40 am

Story
Dear Future Dog Parent, I am looking for a loving, active home for my sweet pitbull, lilah. She is a beautiful lilac brown girl with a heart as big as her energy. She would thrive in a home with an outgoing family and a backyard where she can run and play. Lilah is incredibly affectionate and loves being around people. She is great with kids and does well with cats, as long as they get along. She is house-trained but may have occasional accidents if she doesn’t get outside in time. When I first got lilah, I wasn’t expecting to take in a dog, but she needed help. She was malnourished, dehydrated, and struggling with worms and fleas. I took care of her, and now she’s a happy, healthy, and stunning pup. However, between working full-time and attending college, I can’t give her the attention she deserves. She needs a home where she can get all the love, playtime, and care she craves.

Story
Tippy Trace is a 4.5 (almost 5) year old pit bull who was rescued from our organization over four years ago after an incident led her to lose her front left leg. Since then, she has been in a loving home with two children (ages 10 and 1.5) and another older female dog. She has had aggression issues towards the older female dog worsening over the last two years, leading to them needing to re-home her now. She does very well with children and is a lover of people. She loves to cuddle and play. She can run super fast and doesn’t even realize that she is a tripod! She loves to pop bubbles and play fetch! Tippy is in need of a dog-less home or possibly one with an older male dog. She would be a great companion for a single person or a family!

Story
Penny came to us from Franklin County rescue at 3 years of age. She’s an energetic and happy but also loves to relax when she’s at home and comfortable. She absolutely loves being outside and taking road trips. She does get agitated when meeting new dogs, especially those that are reactive but warms up relatively quickly. She lived with another dog for a year and they got along great. That said I would not recommend her for homes with cats or other small critters.
