Story
Meet darlin! We are sad to consider rehoming our sweet girl. Darlin is a playful loving dog who will take over your couch or bed, loves to play & run, I would prefer her go to a home with a big yard and fenced in if possible. She loves children. Has never shown any aggression towards anyone. She gets along well with other dogs, just NO cats. One of our main reasons of rehoming her is due to our senior blue heeler dog, she is just not a fan, as darlin is 3 and still has some play in her- our blue heeler is just not interested in her & snips & growls at her, darlin does not act on her behavior. Although she is not an aggressive dog I’m afraid our senior dog will upset her & it might turn into a fight causing her to be hurt. I listed her as house broken but she does have accidents, we are gone through the day& she needs someone who will have more time to work with her to finish the process. We adopted her as well not knowing if she was house trained. pls Reach out for more questions!

Story
Ollie was a stray that we took in to our home. He was under a year old and was starving and had some wounds that needed to be taken care of. We got him to a vet and made sure he was neutered and up-to-date on all of his shots. We sheltered and cared for him, but we cannot keep him full-time. My husband and I travel a lot and are not able to give him the attention that he needs. He is very loving and sweet, he loves to cuddle and sleep in the bed, and he is high energy. He loves to play with his toys. He deserves a loving home after all he’s been through.

Story
Please contact Adoptions (adoptions@thalppc.com) for more information about this pet.  Godwin is a 3.5 year Pit Bull mix boy that weighs 69 pounds. He recently came to us from McKamey Animal Center after they reached out to the community for help due to having too many animals in their care. Here is what our awesome dog walking volunteer had to say about him, 'Godwin is a wiggly sweetheart with the ones he knows……he’s a great hiking partner, an excellent car rider and because he’s not going to be seeking attention form strangers, he will form an incredible bond with the lucky one who adopts him. He also super enjoyed his romp in the river.'Hi friends, I'm a lucky enough to be at this shelter and the name's Godwin......I like the way it's said with intention..... not your typical pup name, and I'm not your typical pup. Godwin means 'good friend' and reflects a sense of reliability and loyalty.....and that most certainly describes me. I'm not going to be your bff right off.....that's for the Max's, the Buddy's and the Daisy's of the doggy world.....first off, I'm going to quietly lose my mind because you've gotten me out of the shelter and I wanna see/smell/experience it ALL!! Omigosh, was that a squirrel??! After I get some energy out and remember how I got here, I'm gonna study you and the admiration will begin, but you may not realize that right away.Maybe I'm a bit demure, maybe a bit mindful, perhaps a bit aloof....truth be told......you know our types end up connecting the strongest with the one who chooses us over the other more outgoing pups. I'm a perfect gentledog in your car. You can bribe me quite easily with a treat but know that I'm letting you.....I'm actually a smart whip. I don't necessarily need to meet all your friends.....only your closest ones, and other dogs?? I've met a few, I like a few, I don't like a few. I do prefer the girly dogs.....and I can hang around with a gentle pup.....but I don't necessarily need a pup friend on the daily. I really wanna focus on you!!! Do you want to be my adventure pal, sidekick, road tripper (even if it's to the store)? Are you a bit of introvert with a big heart for black shelter dogs? We should meet.  The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, test for heartworms & heartworm preventative medication, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter. We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but doing adoptions and meet & greets by appointment only.  If you are seriously interested in adopting please fill our our online application here: https://bit.ly/3HN4Tqq Check out our website at https://www.petplacementcenter.com/    February 10, 2025, 9:38 am

Story
Meet Diesel! Diesel is an amazing boy who is good with kids, other dogs, and can be cat tested! He is around 3.5 years old and weighs around ~60 lbs. He has always lived outside but we believe he could be trained to live indoors with some patience and a routine. Two of our fellow non-profit contacts found him hobbling along without any use of his back legs while they were out driving in Sweetwater, TN. They pulled over and upon speaking with his owners, found out that he was hit by a car over 2 weeks prior. Unfortunately, his family could not afford to take him to the vet to examine his injuries or figure out how to best support his mobility needs and they agreed to surrender him to our rescue! He saw the vet on May 14th and we learned that his back was broken in two places. We were originally told that he was likely paralyzed and will likely not re-gain function of his two back legs. The vet also discovered that Diesel was Heartworm positive. Since then, he underwent the fast-kill method to kill the Heartworms and has completed his treatment after 30 days of rest! He also went to see a specialist at UT who donated a special harness to Diesel’s foster family. After some at home therapy using this harness, Diesels is able to stand and even walk short distances unassisted! One of our amazing followers also donated the funds to get Diesel a custom wheelchair! This wheelchair will follow him to his forever home! Diesel is nothing short of a miracle and we are so excited to finally find a loving home for him.
