This guy is the definition of don't judge a book by its cover. T-rex had a rough time before coming to us and just needs the right person to see his gentle heart! Although he may act like a fool in his kennel, once he has his person he can trust there's nothing keeping him apart from you. T-rex is a lover and wants nothing more than a nice warm bed, plenty of yard space to let him roam, and a person who loves him just as much as he will love them. He would benefit from some manners and understanding the world outside, so socializing and getting him out and about will get him his adventuring fix. Don’t get me started on his love for food, and don't be surprised if he loves food more than you! Who could blame him? Are you in need of a Superhero? Possible someone with the power of love? Well look no further than this guy! Mr. Stark is named after the infamous Tony Stark. Although he doesn't have a cool metal suit to help fight the bad guys, this guy gets around just easy with the love he holds. Stark is more or less an energetic guy, looking for a space to zoom around. He could benefit from some behavioral training as he can be somewhat of a spaz. So lots of running around and moving and grooving for this guy! However he does enjoy his cuddle time, he's more of a go, go, go type of guy. Keeping him active and giving his mind something to focus on will help this guy take his energy down a notch. So if you’re looking for someone to swoop you up, come meet Stark today!

Story
Rewinding to about a year ago in February, Merle had made an appearance with his brother, Melvin. When we were introduced to the two brothers, they both were very reserved and unsure about what was going on in the world around them. Because of this we thought it’d be best to keep them together as their anxieties seemed to disappear when the other was near. Since then we have found they both are actually perfect on their own and have flourished into better versions of themselves, especially from how they were when they arrived. Now with Melvin, he can be a bit more outgoing and seeming ready to take on the world. However he does still have some reserves himself, trusting people is his biggest anxiety. Although he has never shown aggression, Melvin does what we call “shut down”, meaning when a situation arises where he feels too anxious, he shuts down and doesn’t move until he feels safe. He will need help learning that new people are not so bad, even though his trust has to be earned before he can be taken home. We do require multiple meet and greet because of this so he can feel as safe as possible with his new potential owner. Other than that, we are still actively working on teaching him how to be a dog with leash training. He will still need help with basic obedience and navigating a household so patience and tender love are the ways to go with this guy. Now Merle still has his reserves about things. He is not as outgoing as his brother, but likes to try and seem bigger and more dominant. He is honestly a big baby, but because of this it does take time to earn his trust. We do require multiple meet and greets in order to help his anxieties and bond with whomever he will be spending the rest of his days with. The only other thing about this guy is he is still learning how to be a dog. We have been actively training with the leash and have made significant improvements but will still need help navigating his way through a household. This guy just needs a loving and patient owner. Someone willing enough to put in the time and effort it will take to show all that this guy deserves. So if you got some extra time, and are looking for a dog to grow with, come meet Merle today!

Oh that cute seal looking face, just look at those big eyeballs! This polka dotted gal is ready and looking for her place to call her own. She’s cute, she's spunky, and she LOVES toys. Just goes wild whenever she’s something you can throw, or she can chew, or to play tug-o-war! Her favorite thing to do is have what call “Mini-Zoomies”. She scoots her back legs and runs around in the tiniest of areas! It’s super cute to see her get going, almost like a race car trying to take off, except it just starts spinning in place! The only quirk we have noticed is she can be a bit picky when meeting new people. She really enjoys being with her person who she trusts, and is weary of newer people coming up to her quickly. She will require a patient handler who will listen to her needs and understand she takes a little bit to warm up to others. Meet Ruger! This handsome boy may be big, but so is his heart! He would do great with an active household with lots of time to run around and play. Ruger is a special boy with a really loving personality, because of this we have found it best for him to have one person he can rely on. He is wonderful with people, but is very anxious if his person is not near him, so consistency and routines will benefit him immensely! He will also benefit best if he is the only “child” in the household as he can get mean with other animals. Ruger recently graduated from our Better Canine training program but will need consistency with his continued training so he can be the best doggie he can be.
