Story
Hey there, animal lovers! Meet Loki, the most charming 3-year-old American Shorthair (b. 2021)!  He is looking for a loving forever home filled with cuddles and playtime. This handsome guy is a bit shy at first, but once you earn his trust, get ready for a whole lot of purrs and affection. He's great with kids of all ages and is totally cool with other cats - in fact, he might just love having a kitty buddy to chase after and snuggle with. Imagine coming home to Loki's soft meows and those big, curious eyes that just want to explore and be loved. Whether he's lounging in sunny spots or chasing after feather toys, Loki brings endless joy and warmth to any home lucky enough to have him. Could Loki be the purrfect match for your family? If you're ready to welcome this sweet boy into your heart, reach out and let's make it happen! The suggested adoption donation for Loki is $65. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
I got Luna from someone 10 years ago who had rescued her and her siblings from a drain in Virginia. She has been my rock through many years and it truly breaks my heart to rehome her. She’s been with me through so much and is such a sweetheart that just wants love and snuggles. We’ve moved from VA to OR to IA together. We did get a second cat in Oregon and they are best friends, so she may warm up to another cat but it may take time. She does not do well with dogs, which is the reason we are rehoming her. We’ve tried for 3 years now to have them get along but Luna is clearly unhappy and has been acting out. As long as you give her the love and attention she deserves she will be a great companion. She doesn’t bite or hiss or scratch (she did growl at the dog, but not humans) and has been good with out 4 month old baby. We just want her to go to a good, loving home.

Story
Hello, I'm CJ, a charming tabby with a heart full of playfulness and affection. I'm on a quest to find a loving home where I can share my energetic spirit and warm snuggles. I'm a friendly and active cat who loves to engage in playtime, whether it's chasing after toys or exploring new spaces. Despite my initial shyness, I quickly warm up to kind-hearted souls and enjoy their company. You'll often find me curled up on your bed or perched on a scratching post, always ready for an adventure or a cuddle session. I'm quite the social butterfly and don't mind the hustle and bustle of visitors. I thrive in environments where I can interact with children, as I find their energy contagious and love playing with them. I also adore being held and cuddled, soaking up all the affection I can get. My adoption fee is only $50! This fee covers all of my vaccinations, microchip, FELV/FIV test, and my spay/neuter! Think I might be the purrfect fit? Apply online at https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person once you have met me! Even take me home that same day once approved! Come in any day during open-business hours!!

Story
Lenny is shy and sweet. He's never shown aggression towards humans, he does run away from my 1 year old son. He lives with his mother and brother, and fights with his brother on sight. I've tried over the past 4 years to improve their relationship to no avail. Lenny is so sweet with me and his mom, I think he'd do great with a female cat or in a single cat household. I'm sure someone with more time and experience could figure out his territorial behavior but with a baby and two other cats I just don't have the energy to keep going. He is litter trained and only goes outside the litter box when it hasn't been cleaned. He likes to climb, and he loves soft beds.
