THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.   Please contact Iere jeffers-harris at i.jeffersharris@gmail.com (236 268 4658) for more information or to adopt. Hi everyone, I am the affectionate Asya and here's some information about me: Age: 3Breed: Bluenose StaffyWeight: 62 lbsHeight: 2 ft tallFemale (spayed) Blue-eyed and bobby-socked, I am a playful, affectionate and intelligent girl. I just love people, kids and other dogs. In typical staffy fashion, I like to meet and greet new friends by talking (barking). Not sure about cats though - I have only heard of them, but have yet to meet them. My best days are spent with some time outside or going to the park and just enjoying a laid-back life! People say that I am easy-going and quite independent when I am spending time on my own. I don't need to be crated. I am also fully house-trained. My favourite food is lamb kibble with an extra treat of white rice (which I get once a week). Due to some food sensitivities, limited ingredient kibble works best. Due to an unfortunate change in my owner's housing situation, we are looking for a new home for me.  A re-homing fee of $100 applies. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.   Please contact Iere jeffers-harris at i.jeffersharris@gmail.com (236 268 4658) for more information or to adopt. ##2058983##

Story
Hey there, I'm Tony. Life hasn't exactly been a walk in the park for me, but I'm hoping to find my slice of canine paradise. I'm a handsome guy, with a heart as big as New York City! I was once a lone ranger, navigating the bustling streets with nothing but my wits and instincts. Found as a stray, I've faced my fair share of challenges, but they've only made me stronger. I've had a bit of rough start to life, but I'm tough and my resilient spirit shines through every day. Yeah, I might get a bit nervous in new situations, but give me a little patience and a lotta love, and I'll warm up to ya quicker than you can say "fuggedaboutit."At around 4 years old, I'm the perfect mix of energetic and cuddly. I love playtime and I'm always up for an adventure, but I also cherish quiet moments and snuggles on the couch. I am a polite walker, and tend to stick to my guardians side. I thrive on companionship and will flourish in a calm, understanding home that can provide me with the stability I crave.Because of my past, I'm not quite sure how I am with other pets or kids, and staff think I would do best as the only dog in the home. I find men very intimidating, and may do best in a household with female guardians. Despite everything, my loyalty and affection know no bounds. I'm eager to find a forever home where I can feel safe, loved, and part of a family. If you've got a big heart and a little extra patience, come meet me and let my charming smile and gentle soul steal your heart. Whaddaya say? Give this guy a chance-you won't regret it! Story
Hellooooo out there!! My name is Gizmo and here's my deets: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire terrier/Lab mix (just a guess!) Age: 10.5 months approx. Gender: Male Weight: 36lbs (16 kg) Current Location: Baja Mexico RESCUE STORY - Like my super sweet sis, Gucci, I was found abandoned as a tiny pup with all my siblings! You can imagine that we were quite a sight for sore eyes at the time. Thankfully, some pretty nice hoomans took us in and cleaned us up and now I'm ready to find my furever home in the Pacific Northwest with you!! Whaddya say?! TEMPERAMENT - The kind hoomans at the shelter say that I am quite the 'mellow fellow', even as a puppy! What an awesome trait to have. I'm also a very good boy on a leash and I looooove affection and giving hoomans hugs and kisses (my ruff beginnings didn't break my soul one bit!!). I would make the ultimate cuddle bud and would do well in a family that enjoys taking me for a stroll and then snuggling up on the couch (so basically, almost anyone!).  ENERGY LEVEL - Low/Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs.  Cats – No thank you! PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – These are a work in progress but I'm doing pretty good! My adopter must be willing to provide me with some training and patience :)  House trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.  Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from the Baja are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2012080##

Story
Hello, my name is Capri (Sienna) and here is a little info about me:Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier/Chow Chow MixAge: 1 year oldGender: female, spayedWeight: 42 lbsHeight: 24 in Capri was rescued from a high kill shelter near LA. She was running out of time when she got rescued. Her foster mom in Califoria can't stop saying wonderful thing about her. If you are looking for a "good girl", Capri is the one for you! She is fully house trained but might need some help in a new home. She ijust turn one and will need some training in a new home. She has some puppy energy to burn, and she is pretty active. Capri is cute, charming and easy going. She gets along well with people, other dogs and cats. She enjoys going for walks or play with other dogs or her toys. Capri likes the company of other dogs so another dog in the home will be good but not necessary. She is equally happy as a solo dog. She is looking for her forever home and can travel to Vancouver very soon if she has an adopter. Please adopt her!  Energy Level: High I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: YesKids: Unknown Prey drive: unknown/not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: unknown/none observed. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. Story
Hey friends! My name is Rocco and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire Terrier mix Age: 4 years 6 months approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 44lbs (20 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - My name's Rocco and I'm a survivor! My first few years were marked by abandonment as I was left to fend for myself on the busy streets of Guadalajara, Mexico. I spent my days begging strangers for scaps and sipping from toilet bowls (an acquired taste). I was living a bustling gas station which was a rather dangerous environment for me to be in and I was found with several nasty lacerations on my body to prove it. When some kind souls finally rescued me from this perilous existence, my journey to healing began! Over the course of a year, my frail figure and broken soul slowly mended and I was able to pull off a great transformation - not just of the physical kind, but of my spirit as well! My exuberant and loving personality began to show and I started to reflect and return all the heartfelt affection of the people who gave me a second chance at life. My rescuers say my progress towards being the incredible pup I am today is testament to the healing power of love! TEMPERAMENT - I am verrrrry loving and deeply enjoy the company of humans. This also means I can be quite bouncy and energetic around people and I do well with boundaries to remind me that I can't give you hugs ALL the time (dang!). I play well with other dogs too although I can be reactive to some male dogs who try to dominate me and would do well with a family who is willing to work on this with me. Luckily for you, my foster family says I am very obedient, smart, and responsive to training...I've learned several commands in training school! I am also the perfect mix of energetic/playful while outside and calm while at home. If you choose to add me to your life I will repay you 1000x with all the kisses and love in the world! ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – I am friendly and sweet with older children but can be rambunctious so supervision and an assertion of boundaries is recommended - see here (this is because I don't know my own strength and can be bouncy - for this reason I wouldn't do well in a home with younger children).  Dogs – I do well with other non-dominant dogs (see here and here) but can play a littttle rough (that rambunctiousness again!). I can be reactive to dominant male dogs and would do well with an owner who is willing to work on this with me.  Cats – Unknown  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am great with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am doing very well with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says this is going well but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – I can get nervous in a car and may need some additional training to help me relax and enjoy this relatively new experience. I have been enrolled in training and I know some commands like 'sit', 'stay' and 'no'. I am a very smart boy if I say so myself! HEALTH NOTES: I have a few small scars on my body from some old wounds - one medium sized scar is on my leg.  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process.
