Story
Meet Scarlett- the Queen of Cuddles! This 3 year old pitty-hippo has one mission in life: to be your ultimate snuggle buddy! Whether it's on the couch, in bed, or on the floor, Scarlett's favorite place is right next to you, soaking up all the love and giving plenty in return. her big soulful eyes and gentle nature will melt your heart in seconds! Scarlett loves her daily walks and would make an excellent partner for strolls around the neighborhood or easy going hikes. She's curious about the world but really just wants to work for her people's approval! This little lady was kept only has an outdoor dog in her previous home and that is so not her vibe. She is learning all about how to live indoors and loves her soft snuggly fleece blankets. She is very good at doing her potty business outside and loves to keep her kennel space neat and tidy. Scarlett ideal home would have a nice doggy sofa with a cozy blankie that is all her own. Scarlett would love to have someone to snuggle up to and watch TV and of course someone to share the popcorn with!Scarlett has been noted in her previous home as "not cat friendly" and would do best in a home without other small creatures just because they make her too excited at this time. If you're looking for a low-key, affectionate companion who's all about warm blankets and belly rubs, Scarlett is your girl. She's ready to give you endless love, loyalty, and lots of lazy Sunday mornings. Come meet Scarlett and let her show you just how cozy life can be! Scarlett is looking for a local home as she is still awaiting her spay surgery

Story
Hellooooo out there!! My name is Gizmo and here's my deets: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire terrier/Lab mix (just a guess!) Age: 1 year 5 months approx. Gender: Male Weight: 53lbs (24 kg) Current Location: Baja Mexico RESCUE STORY - Like my super sweet sis, Gucci, I was found abandoned as a tiny pup with all my siblings! You can imagine that we were quite a sight for sore eyes at the time. Thankfully, some pretty nice hoomans took us in and cleaned us up and now I'm ready to find my furever home in the Pacific Northwest with you!! Whaddya say?! TEMPERAMENT - The kind hoomans at the shelter say that I am quite the 'mellow fellow', even as a puppy! What an awesome trait to have. I'm also a very good boy on a leash and I looooove affection and giving hoomans hugs and kisses (my ruff beginnings didn't break my soul one bit!!). I would make the ultimate cuddle bud and would do well in a family that enjoys taking me for a stroll and then snuggling up on the couch (so basically, almost anyone!).  ENERGY LEVEL - Low/Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs.  Cats – No thank you! PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – These are a work in progress but I'm doing pretty good as you can see here! My adopter must be willing to provide me with some training and patience :)  House trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.  Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from the Baja are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. Story
Hey friends! My name is Rocco and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire Terrier mix Age: 5 years 1 month approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 44lbs (20 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - My name's Rocco and I'm a survivor! My first few years were marked by abandonment as I was left to fend for myself on the busy streets of Guadalajara, Mexico. I spent my days begging strangers for scaps and sipping from toilet bowls (an acquired taste). I was living a bustling gas station which was a rather dangerous environment for me to be in and I was found with several nasty lacerations on my body to prove it. When some kind souls finally rescued me from this perilous existence, my journey to healing began! Over the course of a year, my frail figure and broken soul slowly mended and I was able to pull off a great transformation - not just of the physical kind, but of my spirit as well! My exuberant and loving personality began to show and I started to reflect and return all the heartfelt affection of the people who gave me a second chance at life. My rescuers say my progress towards being the incredible pup I am today is testament to the healing power of love! TEMPERAMENT - I am verrrrry loving and deeply enjoy the company of humans. This also means I can be quite bouncy and energetic around people and I do well with boundaries to remind me that I can't give you hugs ALL the time (dang!). I play well with other dogs too although I can be reactive to some male dogs who try to dominate me and would do well with a family who is willing to work on this with me. Luckily for you, my foster family says I am very obedient, smart, and responsive to training...I've learned several commands in training school! I am also the perfect mix of energetic/playful while outside and calm while at home. If you choose to add me to your life I will repay you 1000x with all the kisses and love in the world! ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – I am friendly and sweet with older children but can be rambunctious so supervision and an assertion of boundaries is recommended - see here (this is because I don't know my own strength and can be bouncy - for this reason I wouldn't do well in a home with younger children).  Dogs – I do well with other non-dominant dogs (see here and here) but can play a littttle rough (that rambunctiousness again!). I can be reactive to dominant male dogs and would do well with an owner who is willing to work on this with me.  Cats – Unknown  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am great with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am doing very well with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says this is going well but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – I can get nervous in a car and may need some additional training to help me relax and enjoy this relatively new experience. I have been enrolled in training and I know some commands like 'sit', 'stay' and 'no'. I am a very smart boy if I say so myself! Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I have a few small scars on my body from some old wounds - one medium sized scar is on my leg.  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. Story
***Located in Houston, TX. Available for out of state adoption.*** Hi there! I'm Luna, the luckiest puppy ever! ? I may be just around 8 months old, but I've already had quite an adventure. One day, a kind human found me at the cross section of two busy roads, and they saved me from a very close encounter with a car! It turns out my previous owners didn't appreciate my puppy charms, so they left me all alone. But guess what? I respond to the name Luna now, and I'm ready to find my forever home thanks to my wonderful foster parents. I'm a probably going to be around 50 pounds of pure cuddly love, and I can't wait to share it with my new family. I'm a playful pup, always up for a visit to the dog park, a walk in the neighborhood or a romp in the yard. I'm as sweet as can be, and my curiosity knows no bounds. But what I love most in this world is cuddling up with my humans. It's my absolute favorite! I currently have a 3 year old human foster sister and my foster parents say I'm great with her! I'm also friendly with other dog friends! Squeaky chew toys and bones are the keys to my heart, and I'll entertain you for hours with my enthusiasm for them. Oh, and let's not forget about snacks – they're like tiny treasures to me, especially when I'm a good girl outside (potty training is going great – no accidents here!). So, if you're looking for the cutest, most lovable dog to be your best friend, look no further. I'm here, ready to fill your life with endless joy and puppy kisses! ??? If you would like more info on me or an application please email westhoustonanimalrescue@yahoo.com.
