Story
Reese is a sweet 2.5-year-old, 66-pound terrier mix with the most beautiful light tan coat. Reese is quite the snuggle bug! She lives for scritches and snoot kisses. She’s officially house broken and kennel trained. Reese has picked up on appropriate manners at meal time (her second favorite time of day) and basic commands. She’s shy around new people, but quickly warns up if they offer pets or cheese. She loves to play and wrestle before taking a good nap. She’s not a chewer, but does love to carry her stuffies around. She’s been fascinated by the guinea pig, she’ll sit and watch her for hours, but has never been aggressive towards her. Our cats have steered clear of her, but she hasn’t shown much interest in them. She needs a good home with a playmate and a decent yard or daily walks. She’d be the perfect family dog, she’s very loving and gentle.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
- Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and had a great time with his human companions: "Buddy enjoyed the car ride a lot! He really wanted to be in the front seat. Thankfully, he was clipped to the seatbelt, or he would have been on my lap in the front! He enjoyed the store as well. He didn't overly care for a pup cup, but loved loved going on walks and checking out all the smells! He did slow down in a hurry, although he did still keep up with us. He would be good for a slightly more active family." - Loves going on walks and does best with a harness- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) - May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro recommended) - Has been diagnosed with allergies (more info at ARL) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for ageThe ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, and not breed label Primary Color: Fawn Brindle Weight: 55 Age: 7yrs 2mths 0wks

- Loves people, activity, toys and being silly; likes to be at the center of whatever's going on - Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and had a great time: "He rode calmly in the car with his head out the window and ran happily in our fenced yard while playing with a squeak toy. When he was inside, he just wanted to get pets or lay on the floor by someone." - Knows sit and has been learning a lot of new tricks here at the shelter; he's truly one of the smartest boys!- Will give you his undivided attention if he knows you have treats - they're his favorite thing - Loves going on walks and can pull hard when he gets excited, so he will do best with a harness- Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs (dog intro required) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for ageThe ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
Bena is in need of a new home because my mother died and I am a student in Washington DC. She is an incredibly sweet and loving dog, with the cutest and most expressive face a dog could ever have. She loves to cuddle, she will climb on top of you while you are laying down and spread herself out so she can be in as much contact with you as possible. She is a bit of an oaf, she was kicked in the head when she was very young. She is somewhat clumsy, and she sometimes needs guidance with commands (like gently pushing her down to sit). She is a relatively high energy dog, she loves to play and should go on daily or near daily walks. She loves to sploot, she will lay down and stick her little back legs out like she's superman:) She is food motivated and may try and sneak a few bites of your dinner if you're not careful! She is a patient at Ashworth Road Animal Hospital. She is healthy and up to date on all of her shots and they would love to keep seeing her.

Story
He is a sweet guy. He snuggles, gives kisses, loves going after balls, loves chewy toys. He tears up any of his toys that are soft but won’t touch the kids stuffed animals. He has an established routine and is really good with it. Kids love on him a lot. He’s great with going in his kennel during the day. Loves car rides and laser lights. He does get concerned about people at the door but does settle down once guests are inside. Needs some training with that to learn some manners to allow guests to come in and not jump on them or bark at them. He also would need some training if any dogs or people approach the car as he loves his people and guards the surroundings like any good dog. He does tend to be stubborn at times and doesn’t want people to physically move him but he will move with a firm command. I would recommend a man in the home to establish with Titus who is in charge unless you are an experienced female owner. I’m including kennel in adoption.

Meet Jessie!Jessie is a gentle, calm soul with the sweetest demeanor. At about 2 years old and 50 pounds, this beautiful Boxer mix was found in the cold but showed right away what a loyal and patient girl she is—hopping out of the car without a leash when arriving at the rescue and waiting patiently for help. Her finder said she even seemed house trained for the few days he had her. She’s incredibly quiet and mellow, fantastic with kids, and neutral with other dogs. Jessie has no desire to run off—she just wants to be near her people. Though she’s still gaining weight, she’s thriving and enjoying life at the rescue. She was found with her buddy, Caroline. With her big Boxer lips and even bigger heart, Jessie is ready to find a loving home where she can be the loyal companion she was meant to be.
