A bit about Misha, she loves her toys and will prance around showing them off to her friends. Misha loves sniffy walks, blanket forts, treats, snuggles and naps. A perfect home for Misha would be one where she can be the only pet and soak up all the attention, she will also need cuddle time on a regular basis. Misha is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. Come meet Misha in person at the Kent County Animal Shelter.

Story
West went for a field trip and this is what the volunteer had to say: West is perfect gentleman, I had never taken West out before so wasn't sure what to expect. He was calm, cool, and collected! The park was busy many of the fields were full of kids playing t-ball with lots of children and parents walking around. West seemed to enjoy the hustle and bustle and wasn't phased one bit. He also did not react when other dogs were nearby. He listened and definitely knows how to charm you. West stayed by my side the entire time and would sit calmly when I offered him a treat. He also loved the car ride and quickly laid down on the back seat for the trip. He would be a joy for any family.

Story
Meet Steve. At just shy of 100 pounds and about 2 years old, he's ready to find  a permanent place of his own. This guy is a happy, playful dude who loves to parade his toys around! He does well with a rough and tumble female playmate. But his favorite thing ever ...  literally just being next to people. He will sit right in front of you to take every opportunity for all the pets possible. If a 100 pound dog could be a lap dog, that's Steve. He didn't have the best start in life so, unfortunately, he's heartworm positive. (*Steps on soap box* Please keep your dogs on heartworm preventatives!) What does that mean for you? It means you foster him while he undergoes treatment for this at no cost to you ... And then when he gets the all clear in a couple of months, he's yours to adopt!  You can apply to adopt or foster this most handsome man at www.rescueofhope.com/adopt/ ##2007330##

Story
Meet Max, a 7 month old medium sized fella weighing in at 30lbs, who may be the happiest guy you’ve ever met- he is excited for just about everything! Playing fetch in the yard? For sure! Taking a walk and meeting new people? Definitely! Snuggling up after a day of fun and play? You betcha. Max is just a happy guy who is ready to participate whole-heartedly in whatever his family is up to. With a little learning, he could potentially be a great running buddy! He’s an active boy who would love an active family, whatever the activity, and is an eager learner especially when treats are involved! Max does best with older children as he is still working on not jumping up in excitement and would do fine as an only dog but could do ok with other dogs who have lots of patience while he learns to read social cues.  He can also live successfully with dog-savvy cats! Max is up to date on vaccines and preventatives, neutered, microchipped and his adoption fee is $250. ##2122165##

Story
We adopted him a 1 1/2 ago from the shelter in West MI. I fell in love with him fast from the description the foster family sent me. Oscar does have anxiety. Which is being treated wiry 100mg of trazodone daily. We thought he would be a great dog to be our first dog together since the foster family told us that he was great with people and animals. Turns out he is reactive, which makes my anxiety skyrocket when he says other dogs and people in our neighborhood. It makes it tricky to walk him etc. I have held on to going down this path for as long as I can, because he deserves to go to a loving home who will train him and offer him a yard that is fenced in, for him to run and explore freely.

Story
We have had Gaia since she was 8 weeks old (April 2016). Her bday is 2/29/16. She's been an exceptional companion, security and fur family member. She loves walks, tennis balls, toys and giving hugs and snuggling. She has grown up with three older children for the last 7 years who are now young adults. She is our only pet. She's an amazing nurse and cuddler. She has never attacked a human but is also appropriately protective. Her dog relations are very minimal. Not her strong suit. She does require a close eye at times with open doors and on walks but nothing abnormal. This will be a major transition for us as well and we sincerely hope she can live out her remaining years in a loving, supportive, fun home. She deserves nothing but the best. A home with no other pets is highly recommended as it has just been her.
