Story
Meet Charli! She is a 7-month-old puppy! Charli is the biggest from her litter (78 pounds) and is the boss! She likes to be in charge and is super smart! She loves adventure, and exploring new things but can be cautious in some new situations. Charli is the dominant from her litter, and likes to put everyone in their place and can be very vocal at times. She is a typical puppy and loves to chew on things, play and sleep. Charli is a little more independent, she loves people but will go off and do her own thing as well. She and her brother are bonded and will need to be adopted together. They will need a secure privacy fenced in yard. If there are children in the home, they need to be over 12 years old. She is working on potty training and doing very well , she prefers to go outside to do her business. With continued patience and a good schedule, she will be fully potty trained quickly! She does sleep through the night but as with all puppies this may change a little in a new home. Adoptions in the St. Louis area only. Applications and inquiries can be submitted at actnowrescue.net Questions can be emailed to shannonkreader@gmail.com

Story
Meet Beans! He is a 7-month-old puppy! He is the smallest from his litter (but is already 58 pounds) and will require a very special home. Beans is the shyest of the babies (VERY SHY)! He will need a very special home that will give him time to adjust to new things (possibly life-long). Once he is comfortable, he is amazing, sweet, and loving, but each new situation he encounters requires a little more patience and time than his siblings. Every new thing he comes across scares him and he is not quick to warm up to new situations. He tends to hide when scared. He would prefer a quiet home, without a lot of loud noises or chaos. He is a typical puppy and loves to chew on everything, play with his siblings and sleep. He and his sister are bonded and will need to be adopted together. They will need a secure privacy fenced in yard. He needs a home with no children or older teens that doesn’t have frequent children visitors. (kids scare him a lot) He is not fully potty trained, but is doing incredibly well and prefers to go outside to do his business. With continued patience and a good schedule, he will be fully potty trained quickly! He does sleep through the night but as with all puppies this may change a little in a new home. Adoptions in the St. Louis area only. Applications and inquiries can be submitted at actnowrescue.net Questions can be emailed to shannonkreader@gmail.com

Story
Hello, I'm Woodie. I'm a 2.5 year old Stafforshire Terrier/Lab mix. I'm a bit shy, but once I get to know you, I'm the sweetest companion. I enjoy quiet moments, a good scratch behind the ears, and gentle walks. I'm mellow, not much into chaos or loud noises. I prefer the calm, the gentle rhythm of a peaceful day. I may take a little while to warm up, but once I do, I promise you a lifetime of loyalty and love. Adopt me, not just because I need a home, but because I have so much love to give, and I'm waiting to share it with you. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. No need to call to find out about me, you can ask questions on the application or email questions to info@polkcountyhumanesociety.org. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2019900##
