Story
Meet Momma Moonpie – The Sweetest Velcro Dog Looking for Her Perfect Forever Home! Everyone, meet Momma Moonpie, our absolute obsession! This incredible 3-year-old girl was the devoted mother to a litter of puppies we adopted out in fall 2024, and now it’s her turn to find a forever home. Moonpie is sweet, gentle, loving, and honestly, just perfect. She adores kids of all ages, is a professional-level snuggler, and is what we call a "velcro dog"—she wants to be with her people all the time. Because of her deep love for human companionship, we’d love to see her go to a family where someone works from home, so she can always have her favorite humans nearby. Age: 3 years old Weight: 46 lbs Personality: Loving, gentle, snuggly, people-oriented Great With: Kids of all ages Ideal Home: A family or individual who works from home and wants a devoted companion Health: Spayed, completed heartworm treatment, up to date on all vaccines Adoption Fee: $300 – But only for the perfect home! Pet Insurance Required: We require pet insurance with every adoption to ensure our pups receive the best care possible. Cats? We can have Moonpie tested for compatibility with cats upon request. Important Information for Adopters All of our dogs are up-to-date on vaccines and altered, unless there are extenuating circumstances which we will make certain that you are aware of. Paws From Afar believes that all dogs should have adventures as often as possible! They need a change of scenery, smellery, new paths to explore, or oceans to swim in. Pet insurance is required prior to pickup. Please make sure you calculate this into your monthly expenses. We recommend Trupanion for its:1 Coverage for all new injuries and illnesses2 Direct payment to the hospital or facility3 Unlimited payout for the lifetime of your pet Cats? We can have any of our dogs tested for compatibility with cats upon request. If the pup is still listed, they are still available. We bring our dogs up from the South, and if you require a meet and greet, we are not the right rescue for you. However, we are happy to connect you with the pup’s foster prior to adoption. To submit your adoption application, please visit: www.pawsfromafar.org/adoptables Please refrain from sending "I'm interested" messages. If the dog is still listed, we will reach out if we decide to move forward with your application. Thank you for your understanding! We all want to adopt Momma Moonpie ourselves, but we’re at full capacity with our own pets. Could you be the lucky family that gets to call her yours? Apply today! ##2308274##

Story
Bethany is currently located in North Georgia, though transport runs twice a month. We have waived her adoption fee, and transportation fee. This girl originally came to us when our local animal shelter reached out, and let us know about a cruelty case, where this sweet girl had been shot then ran over by a car! Somehow she survived and has no remaining injuries! This girl has a purpose and is meant to be alive! We would love to get her to the safety of a forever home, where she can become part of a family, and never worry about her future again! Bethany has now been in a foster home for 5 months and they admit that she is a fabulous house guest! She is smart, mellow, and listens very well. Be sure to watch the video of her taking commands from a 4 year old, you can see how sweet and appreciative she is to have a safe place! She is fully vetted and will come with a one year supply of flea/tick/prevention medication. Please message us today if you are interested in learning more about this sweet and very special girl! Story
Macie is just a young girl at about 6 months old who had a rough start to life. Macie was found as a stray with an embedded collar that has healed beautifully. She walks with a limp due to an old injury that she sustained around 1-2 months of age that has healed and left her right leg shorter than the others. But that doesn’t slow her down at all! She is such a sweet, kind, goofy girl that is full of love and energy. She LOVES to play with her toys, cuddle, and gives lots of kisses. She is great with kids, other dogs and cats. Shes is a great listener, great in cars, kennel trained and is doing very well with potty training. She is working on her manners but she knows how to sit, lay down, down, and stay. She is happiest when she’s with her family. She does well in the kennel and outside when left alone. A true people-pleaser, Macie is a friendly pup who thrives on attention and love. She is a super mutt, our best guess being a terrier of some kind! She is currently about 20 lbs and we anticipate her to be medium sized full grown. Macie is located in Texas. Her adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip, and spay. If you are interested in adopting Macie please complete the adoption application at the link below. Story
Axel is a almost two year old, who is a loving dog that loves to snuggle, listens to commands very well. Great with kids and other animals. Has a high food dependency which is hard for us to keep him from scrounging around the house from our kids leaving a mess. We got him intending not to be working so much but ended with having very busy schedule work wise and kids which keeps him in his crate for long hours, which isn’t fair. Can’t keep him out because he raids anything food wise. Needs a home with someone who is home a lot, and cleanly. He’s a high energy dog that wants to be loved and played with and also has plenty of space to get his zoomies out. We want him to have a happy life that we can’t give him, unfortunately.

Story
Tilly is a sweet girl, and she’s been here too long! She loves being outside and going on walks with her favorite people (which is anyone willing to give her attention!) She plays great with her yard mate, Stanley, and gets along great with other dogs! She also is good with cats. Tilly loves children and thinks they make great playmates, as they match her energy! She’s just as snuggly as she is playful and her favorite thing in the world is BELLYRUBS!!
