Story
Stubbs is a mature, affectionate and obedient good boy who is looking for a loving home. He came to the shelter when his owner passed away and he is so deserving of a loving home that wants a loyal companion. He loves hanging out with you and keeping you company. He`s mellow and easy-going yet alert. He is quiet overall but will alert you if he hears something concerning. He has good manners, listens well, knows sit, comes when called and is housetrained.Stubbs is a great hiking partner and keeps up a good pace for his age. He loves going for walks and rides well in the car. He`s a very manageable size of about 50 lbs in a compact bod. He is in good shape for his age and you would never guess he is 9yo by looking at him. While he has lived with other easy-going dogs, he is just as happy being a solo pet. He does have a high prey/chase drive and is not recommended to be housed with small dogs or cats.Stubbs is a very good boy and is looking for that special home that needs a good buddy to share life with.If you are interested in meeting Stubbs please email awdfoster@cabq.govhttps://youtube.com/shorts/GrKqnjJO1vg?feature=shared < Check out my youtube post!

Story
Meet Snoop Dog, a very outdoorsy gentleman with a kind, playful heart. If you have a nice backyard for playing fetch, Snoop will be in doggy heaven there. Snoop loves spending a lot of time outside when it is warm, but he is quite content to relax indoors, especially if it is cold outside.Snoop has a very sensible, mature demeanor around humans, in general. He finds a walk around the neighborhood to be interesting, and although he is very well behaved when on a leash, out walking, or in the car, he loves running around free in the backyard. Snoop is well behaved around most human and canine strangers, happy to meet and say `Hi.` Oh, and Snoop is also potty trained to only do his business outside provided that you have a doggy door or learn to recognize his signals and routines. If you are a human with a lot of space and in search of a smart, quiet, and handsome terrier to help occupy and guard it, Snoop may be the one for you!

Story
Young at Heart Seeks Kind in HeartPolite, affectionate, liberally minded elderly gentleman seeks a kind companion of any age and any gender to share his golden years with. Likes long—but not too long—leisurely walks in light rain or sunshine. Content to while away the hours with a companion by the warm fire, or at least in a heated room, with a good book, or watching PBS (though not during fund-raising season). Moderate, respectful, and prudent in his habits, though he still goes for a good rear-end scratching now and then.Takes his treats gently and appreciatively. Young at heart, though with some of the habits of older gentlemen, e.g.: likes to have dinner by 4:30 in the afternoon; knows the value of a dollar and a good haircut; accustomed to living on a fixed income; some aches and pains getting up in the morning, etc. Nevertheless a very fine and enjoyable fellow all-around.Those interested should please respond in person at the Albuquerque East Side Animal Welfare Department Shelter, and ask for Baxter the Dear Old Boxer.
