Story
I was brought in to Colonial Capital Humane Society as an owner surrender. My family did not have time for me so they kept me outside. The shelter life is stressful so it’s hard let my true personality shine. I am considered dog selective because it takes me a minute warm up to other dogs. I prefer a slow introduction but I wouldn't mind being a single-dog companion either! I am kid friendly. Please visit our website, www.colonialcapitalhs.org to fill out an application today!

Story
Zula came from a friend’s litter. She is 10 months old and full of love. We wish we could keep her, but have a baby on the way, husband is deploying and fear she will not get the attention she deserves. She stays by your side, always wants to play but will lay down right by your feet when playtime is over. She is a very active dog and loves playing with others. She has been around cats and has been timid but curious.

Story
Tinkerbell is formerly known as Bella but responds to either. I was told her was an 11-year-old American Stafford Terrier. We took in Bella the weekend after Christmas. She was in an extremely abusive and neglected home where she was starved and left days at a time in a kennel. We took her in and have spent weeks getting her healthy and weight gain. She is an extremely sweet and loving dog. She is completely unbothered by other dogs, cats, kids and the vacuum. She loves cuddling and sleeping on her dog bed. Most days she spends napping or bathing in the sun. She has been known to play a little with toys but would really rather just sleep. She is crate and leash trained. Currently we havent found any allergies. She does have an incontinence issue and has issues holding her bladder. Vet said this is likely due to the abuse and holding it for hours. She will let you know she has to go but wont ask twice before she will find somewhere to go. So please keep this in mind.

I came to CCHS after being found in flood water during Hurricane Florence. I was so skinny and sick, but CCHS nursed me back to health, and now I am strong and handsome! River is our resident superstar. He is a very shy boy but has come a very long way. River would do best in a calm home without small children. He prefers female dogs only. Please visit our website, www.colonialcapitalhs.org to fill out an application today!
