Story
What a great family dog this girl will make!!! She LOVES kids! Always cuddling, gentle, quiet, innocent, and does a happy dance! Chicken LOVES kids. She recently met a sweet 5-year-old boy at the park and her eyes lit up and her tail started wagging as soon as he petted her. Watch her video here: https://youtu.be/GKQsiN3-c9w?si=6BFHCePXqFsWp44L What I love about Chicken the most is how in tune she is with you when you give her attention. She will walk at a heel to kiss your hand and get a pat on the head. Her recall is amazing. She comes trotting toward you to get love. She met my five-year-old son and acted totally comfortable around him, enjoying his attention. This girl loves to run with her person. Chicken would make a great girl for a family who enjoys running, biking, and hiking. This girl has not slowed down with her age nor does she look it. Her favorite event is cuddling near her people. She loves soft blankets, lying near your feet while you work, and cozying into your side on the couch. She doesn't even mind sharing her couch and you with other dogs. Chicken is a large mature girl who still has a lot of pep in her step. We think she is about 7ish years old. Chicken loves going to the river and wading in the water. She is the perfect girl to take along with the family. Chicken shows no signs of not being able to hang with an adventurer. When out at the park she is perfectly behaved. Perfect car rider and easy to handle. Chicken Nugget is a confident older girl who does well with other dogs. She isn't incredibly playful but would enjoy a home with another easy-going dog. Her current foster has a male Staffordshire terrier and she loves to lounge with him on mom's bed. Chicken Nugget is currently in Texas and ready for a virtual meet and greet. We are happy to answer any questions you might have. What I LOVE about DUKE: he is calm, exceptionally loyal, and loving, perfect to take anywhere. Duke’s current foster is a teacher with no other dogs at home. Duke is okay with hanging out in his crate until she gets home. He is fostered in a suburban neighborhood and loves to take walks with his foster for exercise. He also loves couch cuddles! Duke says he would prefer a home with squirrels to chase in a big backyard and a cozy couch to squeeze his 62 pounds into to get his love scratches on. His age is a complete guess. He may be younger. He does not act like a senior. He is mature and laid-back but does not act old at all. We absolutely adore his energy level, and how lovable he is. He is going to make a best friend for someone. " When I took Duke out on the trail this afternoon, he walked beautifully on the leash! There was a dog on the trail that was not on a leash. Yikes! Duke did not react, even though the dog was barking and walking towards us. I had Duke sit and wait patiently until the dog started to walk away with its owner. Duke would check in with me, and we kept walking. He had a great walk!" Duke is an 6-year-old medium-energy sweet soul who loves attention and going places. He went to a restaurant this week and stood patiently next to the table while we ate dinner. He did not jump on people, bark, or do anything embarrassing. He sat for french fries on command, greeted the children, and wagged his tail when every new person came up to say hello. He did not bark or snap towards other dogs. He was a pleasure to have around out in public! His foster mom says, “ My favorite thing about Duke is he is so happy to see me when I get home and after his walk he loves to couch cuddle with me. Duke is also the quietest dog I have ever met and the perfect car rider. Anyone who adopts him will be so lucky!”- Hannah He will jump right into the car and sit in his assigned chair like a perfect gentleman. His manners are impeccable in the car. Fall in love with DUKE: https://youtu.be/NU9U3hKYQ_o When taking him to the park to walk, he was a quiet boy the entire time. He wouldn't have cared if a stranger wanted to say hello. The kids playing loudly in the background didn't bother him at all either. Dogs would stroll by and he would want to meet, but he never once barked or growled at another dog. Now once Duke gets a bit of exercise down, his leash skills of pulling improve well.... until he sees those pesky squirrels. He thinks they secretly torment him!! Duke is dog friendly but being a senior gentleman, he doesn't want to play or rough house. His perfect dog mate would be an easy going female or an older female girl who knows how to relax. Relaxing is Duke's jam! Duke is fostered in Texas! We would love to do a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions about this boy. Hey there! I'm Jessica, your future best friend wrapped in a stunning brindle coat! While I might look like a supermodel, I'm actually a big softie who loves nothing more than snuggling up close—yes, even if I’m a bit larger than your typical lap dog! I'm a certified couch potato who enjoys lounging around, but don’t be fooled—I still love a good play session! A yard to run and play in sounds like a dream, and daily walks would keep me happy and healthy. I’m a water lover and can't resist splashing in the kiddie pool; with the chance to swim, I'd totally embrace my inner beach bum! When it comes to manners, I've got them! I very rarely bark, don't jump, come when called, and sit when told. Plus, I'm 100% potty trained. I'm mastering basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” and I'm all about those squeaky toys. I'm a social butterfly who loves puppy playgroups and gets along with dogs of all ages and sizes, including my two small dog buddies and my mom's larger dogs. I looove kids and get along wonderfully with my fosters elderly father. But I also appreciate some alone time to chill out and relax. At home, I’m a well-behaved girl, already crate trained however I love laying at your feet and sleeping at the end of the bed. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion to share life’s adventures and cozy moments, I’m your girl. Ready to add some extra joy and cuddles to your life? Let's meet and start our journey together! 🐾❤️ Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/65bfd33b7114afda750a2bd7 Please email elizabethbower@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Story
Meet Panthera, the graceful and loyal canine with the deepest, soulful eyes, and jet-black coat. She is smart, well-behaved, and eager to have a forever home! This beautiful, all-black beauty is ~60 lbs and almost 1 year old. We think she may be a Staffy/Lab mix, but with rescue its always a guess. We like to call them a Texas Surprise! She was given her name because she looked like a graceful and majestic black panther as she would pounce on her toys as she played. Potty trained and crate trained, Panthera possesses a repertoire of commands that demonstrate her intelligence and eagerness to please. She knows "Sit," "Lay down," "Settle," "No," “Outside,” and “Night Night.” She is a very good girl who just wants to please her people and be rewarded with yummy treats and lots of pets. Panthera thrives in the company of people, kids, and/or other dogs. Despite her quiet demeanor, she embodies a sense of loyalty and watchfulness. She has spent her whole life in a loving foster home with her mom and siblings, who have given her a great start in learning doggy manners. She also lives with her foster parents, a special needs granddaughter, and another adult who is in a wheelchair. She does great with people of all ages and abilities, as well as other dogs. While her shy and skittish nature may lead her to seek solace from loud noises and unfamiliar environments, Panthera's gentle spirit shines brightest in calm atmospheres where she can take leisurely naps and indulge in her favorite pastimes. Some of her favorite activities include playing with her squeaky toys, chewing on bones, or munching on apples with peanut butter. With her quiet demeanor and penchant for napping, Panthera could thrive in an apartment setting as long as she receives adequate exercise and affection. She’s pretty good on leash, making daily walks a joy. While she can get carsick, a little Dramamine will help. In her video, you will notice that she is squinting quite a bit. This is because she had recently had surgery for entropion in that eye. Entropion is when the eyelashes poke into the eye, causing irritation. When it’s all healed, it should not cause her any issues. She can see out of her eye just fine when it’s open. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and vetted to ensure she’s healthy and ready to go to her forever home. In Panthera, one finds not just a dog, but a cherished friend whose presence illuminates the darkest of nights and brings warmth to the quietest of days. Embrace her, and you'll discover a loyal confidante and a kindred spirit, forever by your side. Currently fostered in Texas, she is ready to travel to her forever home in the PNW or NE areas! Her absolute favorite thing is riding in the car, though. She loves to load up and go for rides, Adelaide’s favorite outing is a coffee shop date, she loves her pup cups! She also loves park dates that include playing ball, catching treats in the air, and meeting other hikers on the trail! She’s the BEST car rider!! She sleeps all night in her crate like a good girl and she’s potty trained and well behaved in the house. Adelaide has great house manners, and loves to snuggle, sit in your lap, or get belly rubs. Adelaide is such an affectionate and loving girl. We put a hat and tee shirt on her and she seemed to like them. She kept the hat on for a long time! Adelaide can often be found wearing her pony-bead necklaces- custom made jewelry gifted to her by her teenage foster “cousin.” Adelaide can be a teeny tiny bit hesitant to open up to new people, but she’s very easily won over with a couple treats and sweet pets. Once Adelaide has deemed you one of “her people,” you have a friend for life. Adelaide recognizes people she’s met, even just briefly, immediately and is always excited for the reunion. Such a good, loyal girl. With kids, Adelaide is a big house hippo and can sometimes be “a lot” for kids that aren’t used to big beefy goofy pittie types. Adelaide is incredibly sweet with them though, giving gentle kisses and playing games to their hearts content. Adelaide is beloved by so many kids, both here at the rescue, and within her foster family. She is dog friendly and will play with her doggy friends for short periods of time but most of the time she is off doing her own thing or loving on any human around her. She would do best with other dogs that are moderately playful like her, but will respect when Adelaide when she doesn't want to play. Adelaide does so well with small dogs, and seems to prefer their company! She is currently living in a foster home with multiple small dogs. Adelaide knows a few basic commands, she’s very intelligent, treat motivated, and loyal, which will make training her further enjoyable for both of you. Adelaide knows to auto-sit for treats and knows how to catch treats in her mouth. Adelaide came into rescue without much leash training, and loved to pull on leash- our behavior team trained Adelaide to walk on a gentle leader, a special type of leash that uses doggy psychology to make walks more enjoyable for both of you. When you take Adelaide home, we’ll be sure to send a gentle leader with you, so she can put her best foot forward on your first walk together! Adelaide is suuuch a good girl and a rescue favorite. “She is the best snuggler… ever. She will completely lay on top of me when I’m on the couch. She has the cutest personality. She gets the zoomies and it’s hilarious! She only has one bad thing about her really…..she’s a counter surfer sometimes. But working on it! We love fostering Adelaide, she is the best girl!” Adelaide is such a sweet, loyal, good girl. Her perfect forever home will be loving, kind and kitty-free. (Adelaide does like to chase cats!) She would do well as one of your pack, or as a solo-dog, soaking up all of that love for herself. Adelaide is medium energy and would do great in a semi-active family with kids. She does great with kids, as long as the kids are used to big dogs! Adelaide has been waiting for her forever home for far too long, if Adelaide sounds like your kind of girl- please fill out an application today. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $62 surcharge for transport.
