Story
Kylo is very full of energy and love he definitely needs a yard to run in and a home with space that unfortunately I just can’t accommodate. His zoomies are A LOT LOL! He’s a big time chewer so tough toys are a must. Kylo is very treat and food possessive so best to separate feed and do not take his treats/food away by hand. He’s a good boy just needs someone with patience and the time to work with him after all he’s just a puppy 8 1/2 months old

Story
Meet Tux !! This handsome boy is looking for a loving home. He’s been a family dog his whole life and would love to find a family that’s loyal to him. Tux had a family that decided he wasn’t worth the time anymore. We were thankfully able to get him before they dumped him at a crowded shelter. He did nothing wrong to lose his family. He’s a super sweet boy. He is an approx 2 year old, male American bully/staffy type mix. He weighs 60 pounds and is full grown. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is thankfully heartworm negative. Tux came from a home with multiple kids. He’s done very well with children. He is still big and excited at times. He may accidentally knock over small kids but he does not have any aggressions towards them. He can be initially shy meeting new people. As soon as he realizes you’re safe he’s so full of love. He adores people that are kind to him. We aren’t sure how his life was before but he cowers and behaves as if he’s had some harsh corrections in the past. Tux has done well with all the dogs he’s met so far. Other dogs sometimes get annoyed with his hyper play so a tolerant playmate would be best. He doesn’t always pick up on cues when another dog is done playing. His previous family said he’s good with cats but we have no idea if that’s true or not. He is crate trained and rides well in the car. A little nervous but nothing to bad. He’s working on leash training. He still pulls when excited. He understands potty training but still has some accidents. Mostly bc he doesn’t like to go outside alone. He will stand by the door and not potty if you don’t go out with him. He is also still marking things indoors. He was neutered today so we expect to see that behavior fade away. Tux has a medium energy level. He loves to go outside with you and also to roughhouse with other dogs. A little playtime and some walks seem to keep him pretty balanced. He also loves puzzle toys and games like a snuffle mat. It’s not to hard to meet his energy needs with just a little effort and attention. He loves to play ball and tug o war with you. Otherwise he hasn’t really played much with toys on his own. Tux has shown no food aggression with people. He takes treats very gently from you. He is a rushed and messy eater so we suggest feeding him separately from other dogs. He is happy to eat in his crate or in another room if you have other pets. He likes to rush in to see what treats are in your hand and that might trigger other dogs if yours don’t like to share. This sweet boy has so much potential. He’s very loving and sweet. He just wants a family that’s kind and loving toward him. He needs some refinement in his basic manners but overall he’s a really good boy. Vet and home checks required. ⛔️DO NOT APPLY IF YOURE RENTING AND HAVEN'T SPOKEN TO YOUR LANDLORD FOR PERMISSION TO ADOPT THIS BREED.⛔️ Located in Hampton VA. Story
Meet Zero!! We don’t know how this guy is still here?! No one has even come to meet him. Everyone is really missing out on this big, ball loving baby. He’s so sweet and wants nothing more than to be your best friend. Zero was initially seized by animal control. He lived outside and when they found him he was starved, chained outside and had infected cuts on his legs. Thankfully he was saved in time. He healed up nicely and gained his weight back. He quickly went to a great home but sadly has been returned to us. This guy is really a big, loving, scaredy cat of a dog. He is super outgoing with other dogs and people but also gets afraid of walking through doors at the pet store. He also doesn’t like to be alone. Really just an oversized sweet baby. He is an approx 3 year old, male Pitbull/ Staffy type mix. He weighs 66 pounds and is full grown. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is thankfully heartworm negative. Zero was very loved by his adoptive family. He was only returned due to accidentally hurting their cats. We want to be clear that he is not at all aggressive to cats or other animals. The cats got hurt on three separate occasions just due to his size and weight. Due to this we want him to go to a home without cats or tiny dogs just so he does not accidentally hurt a smaller animal. He loves all people and does great meeting everyone. He’s very much an overgrown puppy. Super sweet, goofy and loving. He’s done well with all the dogs he’s met so far. Other dogs sometimes get annoyed with his hyper play so a tolerant playmate would be best. He loves everyone including kids however he is big strong and playful. He may accidentally knock over small kids but he does not have any aggressions towards them. Zero is crate trained but can be vocal in protest at times. He has a little anxiety about being left alone. We have found some easy tricks to help with this and he’s doing way better now. He doesn’t have to be crated as he’s not been destructive but he has been crated during the work day in hopes to get him more comfortable with it. He will willingly go in the crate when asked. He pulls a lot still when walked on the leash. He doesn’t get sick on car rides but can be very anxious about them. He is always happy to get where he is going but not sure about the trip lol. He is potty trained with a doggie door. He does get very anxious when moved to a new place and did have several potty accidents while adjusting to his foster home. It seems to be anxiety related and once settled he does very well. When he’s let out immediately when you come home from work he does great. Zero LOVES to play fetch. He is obsessed with his ball. He will do it for hours. He will bring it right to you and drop it in your lap or at your feet. He would be so happy to have someone wanting a dog to play endless games of fetch with them. He is fine to relax and not play ball but anytime you’re up for it he will be ready to go! He has a moderate energy level. He loves to go outside with you, play with other dogs but mostly wants to lay around with you and be loved on. He’s such a sweet soul. He soaks up any affection he can get from people. He does get very hyper when you first get home or let him out of the crate. Once he gets some of that excited energy out he is much calmer and laid back. Zero has shown no food aggression with people but needs to eat separate from other dogs. He came to us starved and sometimes that leads to being protective over food. He does not do it with people at all. He is happy to eat in his crate or in another room if you have other pets. It’s also best to let him have chew bones separate from other dogs. There are thousands of blue pitbull types out there looking for homes but this guy has something special. Its hard to explain but when you meet him you’ll feel it to. He is still a little rough around the edges with training but the person willing to put in the work with him is going to end up with the most loyal and steadfast companion you could ever ask for. Vet and home checks required. ⛔️DO NOT APPLY IF YOURE RENTING AND HAVEN'T SPOKEN TO YOUR LANDLORD FOR PERMISSION TO ADOPT THIS BREED.⛔️ Located in Hampton VA. Story
Avalanche came rolling into Heritage as a stray. He is an older gentleman but no one has told him that yet. He loves to go on walks and will do a little happy dance with tippy tappys when it is time to put on his leash. He is friendly with everyone he meets, gentle when he takes treats, and has lots of meats. This baked potato needs a little training but could be the perfect dog for anyone who wants a cuddle buddy.

Story
Pinky is currently in foster and doing great! Her foster`s report she is house trained, crate trained, does well with the cat in the home and loves belly rubs. Here`s what else they have to say`I think one of my favorite things that Pinky does is smile when I get home from work, afterI`ve been gone all day (my boyfriend was home, or got home much earlier then I) and shegets super excited and starts smiling at me. I also love how I am never lonely at home. Shelikes to follow me literally everywhere, whether that`s cleaning, watching tv, or studying, sheis very curious with everything. Also if you stop giving her bellyrubs she will lay on her backand wiggle side to side until she gets more. She loves showing off her toys as well.`
