Story
Hi there! I’m Goliath, a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix, tipping the scales at a solid 89 pounds of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. Don’t let my size intimidate you—I’m a gentle giant with a calm, easy-going personality. I’m happiest when I’m spending time with my people, whether we’re going for walks, enjoying a peaceful car ride, or just lounging together at home. I’m a little shy when I first meet new people, but with a little patience and love, I’ll quickly warm up to you and become your most devoted companion.I’m great with kids, the elderly, other dogs, and even cats, so I’m pretty adaptable and can fit into a variety of homes. I’m a quick learner and already know some basic commands like “sit” and “no,” and I’m always eager to learn more, especially if there’s a tasty treat involved! I’m fully housetrained and know how to use a doggie door, which makes me pretty independent when it comes to going in and out. While I do enjoy spending time outdoors, I’m also content to come inside at night and curl up with you for some quiet time.Having spent plenty of time around livestock like goats and chickens, I’m naturally inclined to help with herding, and I once helped guide some chickens into their coop without any formal training. I take guarding my family very seriously, and while I’m not loud or intrusive, I’ll always be on alert and ready to protect the ones I love.Though I enjoy having some space to roam and explore, I’m just as happy to relax by your side, stretching out on the couch, or snuggling up next to you for some quality bonding time. I’m looking for a family who can provide me with the love, attention, and space I need to thrive. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and intelligent companion who will be your protector and best friend, then I may be just the dog for you. I can’t wait to meet you—let’s see if we’re a perfect match! Story
Hi there! My name is Picabo, and I’m a 2-year-old, 61-pound Great Dane-Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. Not only am I a big, beautiful girl, but I’m also incredibly photogenic—I even seem to smile for pictures! If you’re looking for a stunning pup who’s always ready for a photoshoot, I might just be the perfect match for you.I’m a playful and affectionate girl with a lot of love to give. I get along great with male dogs, but I’d prefer to be the only female pup in the home. I haven’t been tested with cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. When it comes to people, I do well with kids over 12 and the elderly, but I get so excited to greet my favorite humans that I tend to jump up and give big, happy hugs—so a home without anyone with balance concerns would be best.I’m highly intelligent, food-motivated, and eager to please, which makes training a breeze. I already know how to walk nicely on a leash, I load up easily into a car, and I ride like a pro. I also know how to use a doggie door and prefer to do my business outside like the well-mannered lady I am. Most of the time, I’m quiet and observant, but I’m always paying attention—so I’d make a fantastic guard dog, keeping my home and my people safe. While I love to run and play, I also have a snuggly side. There’s nothing better than curling up on the couch with my favorite people for a good cuddle session. I’m the best of both worlds—playful and energetic when it’s time for fun, but also sweet and affectionate when it’s time to relax. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and loving companion who will be your adventure buddy, cuddle partner, and personal supermodel all in one, then I might just be the dog for you! Come meet me today—I can’t wait to find my forever home! 🐾💕 You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 for any other questions.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
