Story
Sunny is a gentle soul with a heart full of love, waiting for her second chance at happiness. She is an 80-pound, 6-year-old Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix ready to find her forever family. After spending 557 days in the shelter due to a welfare case, she truly deserves a place to call her forever home. At first, Sunny may be a little shy and nervous, but beneath that quiet exterior lies a loving and calm dog who is beginning to open up to the world. She has made amazing progress with us, becoming more comfortable during walks. While she may not fully come out of her shell, one constant is her comfort around other dogs. She has her favorite spots in the house—typically a cozy couch or a human bed—where she enjoys spending her time in her own little retreat. We've even seen her initiate play with another dog, though these interactions tend to be brief. Sunny will require a bit of coaxing to go outside for potty breaks, but if you keep her on a regular schedule, she will consistently go right on cue. She is crate trained, though she is so laid-back that crating is unnecessary. We are looking for a patient, loving home where Sunny can enjoy a calm and relaxed life. She rarely barks and has been incredibly quiet during her time with us. Could you be the special family Sunny is searching for? After waiting so long for her forever home, she deserves the love and security that only a caring family can provide. Let’s give this beautiful girl the happy ending she’s been waiting for! If you are interested in adopting, please visit the I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue website and complete an adoption application: www.icaredogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter • shots up to date • micro-chip • fecal and vet check Breeds and age are not guaranteed. Story
Honey is a 6 year old female anatolian shepherd Honey was "rescued" by an organization called Delaneys Dog in June 2022 aling with "Sugar" the husky. They were pulled from Animal Friends of the Valley Shelter in October 2022. Delaneys dog reacue re-dumped the 2 dogs at a boarding facility in the high desert area, they left them there and never came back or paid their bill. The owner of the boarding facility recently passed and these dogs were in danger of re-entering the shelter system, but we stepped up and brought them into our care. Sugar is just about the sweetest dog I've ever met. I can definitely see how she got her name, which was given to her by valley shelter staff back in 2022. She is spayed and gets along with every dog she's ever met. She can be pushy with her affection--so if you're working from home and don't want to be interrupted for pats regularly, she's not the one. She will come check on you and get a little ear scratch every so often, nudging and nuzzling your hand till you give her lovin'. Spayed and great with dogs, chickens, the cat, and all the people she meets. Gently and mellow. When she's not curled up next to me on the rug, she can be found lounging outside under the tree. She is protective of our yard and scary looking at the fence, but once the people are inside she just wants love. Beautiful temperament, such a lovely dog--over the years, there have been a few foster dogs that I truly wish I could keep, and this is one of those times... Honey is now 100% potty trained, she knows sit and paw, she's spayed and vaccinated, and her adoption fee is $250

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter,
Story
This is Rufus. He will be 2 years old on November. He is a very excited puppy that needs a good adopter to have a nice yard or able to take to the dog park. Because he is a puppy he eats quite a bit. He is a yard dog so there was no need to bathe him as much. We cannot take Rufus to the dog park to let off his energy and we have made the decision that our current schedule does not fit with his and would rather someone else take the time to help him get what he very much deserves. And that’s being an active pup as he should be. It hurts that we want him but cannot let him suffer to enjoy being a puppy.

Story
Remy von Remse is a very handsome 11 month old Anatolian Shepherd mix. Remy is a big, beautiful baby boy who is going to get bigger, but that only means there will be more of him to love. Part Anatolian shepherd with a large frame, he is very friendly with everyone, playful, happy, and eager to experience all that the world has to offer. A smart and active pupster, Remy will do best in a home with lots of activities and hopefully a fair amount of space to run and play with another playful dog if there happens to be another furry family member. (no small kids as he is still a big puppy). He's happy to meet dogs and is the life of the party in his playgroups, delighted to play and romp with everyone. If you want this sweet face greeting you every morning, come meet Remy! (No cats please.) Rescued from the Victorville animal shelter. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Remy von Remse YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Story
Astrid is a LARGE Armenian Gampr weighing in at a healthy 160 pounds. At 3 years old, Astrid is still a puppy at heart and seems to be unaware of her larger than life size. More often than not she can be found lost in her own world, running around, jumping in the air trying to catch some wind under her paws. Astrid must have a vivid imagination as she loves to just hang out on her own, keeping herself entertained. She enjoys simple things like a dip in the kiddie pool and a fluffy squeaky toy. Astrid would like to find a home where she can have all the attention to herself with no other animals. She may get along with other humans 16 and older. She would like a home with a large yard and high secure fencing. An owner willing to invest in training her to be well behaved is a requirement. My adoption comes with a free month of training from GoodPup.com to ease me into my new home and help me bond with my new family.
