Story
Tiger is one of the most loving pups ever! Around 3 years old he has eyes that melt your heart ❤️. He was a stray in OK who was lucky enough to be rescued and sent to CO to find a family. His past has left him a little untrustworthy of new people. But within the hour he will decide to love you if you are calm and patient. Once he loves you he likes to follow you around and sit by your side, often so close he is leaning on your leg or half on your toes. Tiger does great with other dogs but because he is a bit anxious some other dogs have a tendency to pick on him. He can be curious about cats and likes to sniff hello but mostly ignores them! He is crate trained and potty trained! He always wants to be next to his people (Velcro dog for sure!) but it has lead to a small bit of separation anxiety. Continuing to crate him when he is alone will support this! This love bug will cuddle you and watch movies on the couch as long as you want! He also loves a neighborhood walk and is a good boy on leash. Loud noises indoors and outdoors can be very scary for him. A calmer/quieter home and no young kids will be more successful for him. This boy is beyond ready to meet his family and be snuggled and loved forever. Come meet him in Thornton!

Story
Riley, a gentle Anatolian Shepherd mix, has overcome more than her fair share of challenges. Alongside her loyal companion Max, she's embarked on a journey of healing and hope after a difficult past of neglect and abuse. Despite it all, Riley's spirit remains unbroken, and she's ready to discover the warmth and love of a true forever home. This sweet girl is learning the joys of being part of a family, slowly realizing that not all humans are scary. With patience and kindness, Riley is blossoming into a loving and affectionate companion who adores being close to her person. Whether it's snuggling up for a cozy cuddle session or playing with her favorite toys, Riley finds comfort and happiness in simple moments of joy. Although Riley and Max share a special bond forged through tough times, Riley is open to being adopted separately. However, the presence of Max brings her an extra level of comfort and security, making them an ideal pair for anyone looking to open their hearts to not just one, but two deserving souls. If you're ready to give Riley the love and care she's been longing for, and perhaps consider welcoming Max into your home too, please reach out. Together, we can write the next chapter of Riley's story—one filled with love, trust, and the happiness she so truly deserves.

A large population of people love summer way more than they love winter! I know I do! Summer is around 100lbs but is in the process of putting on more weight due to having 9 puppies a few months ago. She's also recovering from mange. I'm not sure what Summer's life was like before her rescue, but I can say she is loving her new life. She's incredibly sweet, patient, and motherly. She is wonderful with my younger and older children. Her adjustment and transformation is going way better than we could've imagined and will be an exceptional member to anyone's family.

Story
This pups adoption fee has been partially sponsored by All Aboard or an All Aboard partner! The new adoption fee is reflected on the profile. IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THIS DOG: Ombre can be easily startled by new people and things. He is occasionally slower to meeting new people, especially men, and other dogs. Ombre has the potential to get overwhelmed easily and can resource guard. Ombre needs an adopter who is patient and willing to continue his training. Ombre is big guy with a lot of love to give! He came to us with a few quirks that his foster has been helping him work through and he is constantly making progress! He does need an experienced adopter who will be dedicated to continued positive reinforcement training and ongoing socialization. He has come a long way since his arrival in January 2023 and needs the perfect partner in crime to help him continue making progress! Ombre can be a bit skittish with new sounds or unexpected movements and can resource guard at times. He is occasionally slow to warm up to new men and other dogs, but not consistently! He can get overwhelmed in new high-activity environments, so continued socialization is a must. Ombre is very loving and curious, and acts like he is his foster's shadow. This loving boy is a classic case of a dog who is worth the effort! With the right, experienced adopter who is committed to setting him up for success through continued training and socialization, Ombre will absolutely blossom into his adopter's most dedicated friend! He is house and kennel trained. Story
Meet Haku! From his foster: " Haku-In the Hawaiian language, Haku means Lord, Master, Overseer, Leader. And boy does he live up to his name. This big boy has lived a short yet hard life but he is the definition of a survivor! Since arriving to AAAR at only 31 pounds, he has worked hard to gain almost 45 pounds. With that strength, he has also learned that he loves to talk. Whether it's to give you his opinion or express his undying appreciation for you, he is never short on words...or barks. He knows how to sit like a proper gentleman and lay down. As long as he has a comfy blankie to cuddle with, he will kennel up though he prefers a cover over his kennel to help him decompress. Kong's or any toy you can put food in is his favorite; he's always up for a challenge. Car rides give him a little anxiety and he still hasn't learned how to get in and out of the car very well but we're working on it. With some patience and trust building, he'll come a long way! He enjoys playing with medium sized dogs he's not always sure of big dogs. He does need some extra time, patience and knowledge of a reactive dog when it comes to men though he takes to women and adores children! With a little time and love, he will bond with men as he has gotten very close with my boyfriend. Cookies and treats are his favorite and he is very treat oriented. He's still understanding how toys work but has learned a lot through watching members of my pack. Haku is looking for someone who has as much love to give as he does. Someone who is ready to show him the world, continue his training to work his brain and give him a consistent, safe and loving family. Previous shelter staff notes - Haku is the sweetest boy that adores other dogs! He's so wiggly and friendly! He's great with big and small dogs too! He arrived to us underweight and starving. He's gaining weight and is getting to healthy weight after fending for himself on the streets for who knows how long. Despite his rough past, he's ready for a brighter future where he can be cherished and loved and never know abandonment again. ADOPTION FEE: $425 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Meet Audrey! Audrey is a sweet lady! She’s always down for whatever. She loves a good snuggle just as much as a good hike. She’s very well-mannered both on and off-leash. She enjoys the company of humans and animals, and she has a special fascination for farm animals.  She is large with a disarming bark, but she is very gentle. She loves to communicate and typically asks for what she wants with sighs and body language. She sleeps a lot, always on the softest surface she can find. August 19, 2024, 3:58 pm
