Story
Meet Barney, a loving Aussie-doodle. He is 4 years old and weighs 37 pounds. He is an active, smart dog who loves attention and snuggling. He is very well trained, understands commands, walks to heel, and is crate trained and potty trained. Because of his energy level, he needs at least two walks a day, but is happy being home and sleeping most of the day. He needs a strong owner that understands dogs and is able to keep structure in his life. He is great with folks that he knows but is insecure outside of the home and with people he doesn't know, and can be reactive if he feels insecure or threatened. When meeting new people, he needs to have slow introductions and does not like when strangers try to pet him. He is great with other dogs, just not puppies, and hasn’t not been around children and it would not be advisable. When he feels overwhelmed or threatened he can be reactive with other dogs but does not attack or bite. He loves to play and being chased. He loves to hike, and absolutely loves and bonds to his person.

Please contact Isabell (pawparent@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Sansa was a stray on the streets of Lancaster and brought to the Lancaster shelter with a terribly matted coat. Poor guy must have been in so much discomfort. The shelter staff bathed and groomed him, but nobody wanted to adopt him so Paw Parent welcomed him. He is very happy here and gets along great with all the dogs. He is afraid when we try to put a leash on him, he must have had bad experiences from living on the streets. He also hates being groomed, his matted coat when he was found probably caused him so much pain and he might have been also terribly abused by people that he will show you his teeth when you approach with scissors. We give him Benadryl before taking him to the groomer to calm him down a bit. He also needs to be taught not to pee in the house. Otherwise is very quiet and mellow and does not cause any trouble. He is around 9 years old and weighs 15 pounds. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and ready for his new forever home.
