The adoption fee is $450 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.  ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##2355057##

Story
Say hello to Toby (b. 8/2015) an Australian Kelpie x Belgian Shepherd mix, who is looking for his FURever home! This shy guy is a complete ladies' man and does better around women more so than men. Toby requires a slow introduction to new people as he gets very shy. He would shine brightest in a home where he can be the center of attention so no kids or other pets, please. Once Toby gets to know you he is the biggest cuddler there is and just wants to love on his human. So ladies' who is ready for their night in shining fur? Appy to adopt Toby today! The suggested adoption donation for Toby is $265. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $306,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Adoptions for Toby are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.   ##1489993##

Story
Miss Dixie is a sweet older gal (born 2013) who is looking for a home where she can be loved, cuddled and snuggled.   She is well behaved and leash trained, housebroken and gets along well with other dogs, older children and people she doesn't know.  Smaller children frighten Dixie, so she will need to be in a home with older children (age 6+) and adults only.   Dixie really likes to snuggle, take snoozes with her humans, and spend time together outside playing fetch, but most of all she loves going on walks!  She knows commands for sit, stay, lay down, and high five.  Dixie does very well in a kennel, but does need to be taken outside frequently to avoid leakage.  If you're looking for a wonderful companion who gives lots of kisses and will go on walks as often as you want, please submit an application to adopt Dixie! The suggested adoption donation for Dixie is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.    ##2278398##

Story
Fievel is a very sweet 2.5yr old toy Australian shepherd. He does have some anxiety and barks at people/pets he doesn't know, but will warm up quickly. I had to find a new job and my pay was cut in half and Im expecting a baby in October. It breaks my heart to let him go but I can't financially keep up as it is and it will only get harder from here. He doesn't have experience around kids but he's such a happy sweet little guy I feel like he'd be a great kids pet once he gets introduced.

Precious is just that, Precious. She loves to cuddle and cozy up to you. She loves her snacks and is playful when you show her attention. She'll be 3yrs old in July and just a great and loyal dog. Unfortunately, my situation can no longer afford a pet. I want her to go to a loving home, where her new owner can spend time with her.

Story
Every once in a while, you meet an extra special dog that is full of gentle love, affection and resilience that will melt your heart! Meet Indigo Blue known also as Indy, our visually impaired one-year old 45-pound stunning girl. Your first instinct will be to wrap this sweet soul up in the comfort of your arms and keep her safe but soon you'll see she is so full of joy and doesn't act handicapped at all! Yes, her life was previously full of pain in a horrid kill shelter but since she is safe and no longer in pain she's just thrilled to be a normal happy girl! Plus remember Indy has never had full sight so knows no different.  We found Indy as a stray where she was to be euthanized the next day as her left eye was destroyed from glaucoma and she was in severe pain. Simple drops would have taken care of this, but she was not to be given a chance until Haven Animal Rescue Nebraska quickly called and arranged to have her transferred to Omaha immediately. Unfortunately, we could not save her left eye, and had it surgically removed so she would be pain free. Her right eye was evaluated and drops that only cost $10 a month have saved what little vision she has. Indy mostly sees shadows but you'd never know she is not fully sighted. She fully mapped out her foster home within two days and then roamed all levels including stairs and the outside yard without bumping into a thing!  To say this girl is amazing is an understatement! Indy's life now....she is extremely happy and gets along with all dogs from 35 to 155 pounds in her foster home. She plays respectfully with dogs and takes their cues.  She has learned several commands and wants to please.  She loves to be with her people and is very devoted whether outside playing or laying beside you. Indy also walks well on leash once she trusts you and will follow a clicking sounds of your tongue in new places she has not mapped out in her mind. Nothing stops this lovebug from living life to the fullest and she is a pure delight. The perfect home for Indigo is a home with a fence, another dog and lots of love and patience to give her!  She also adores children. No apartments please as she will alert you to sounds she can hear but not see. She is potty trained and crate trained. Although if you are home Indy wants to be out and with you! Please apply to meet Indigo Blue (Indy) and see if she is what has been missing from your life! www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org ADOPTION DONATION: $375 *She will require eyedrop twice daily that she takes well and 2-3 vet visits a year for a simple glaucoma test. *All dogs must be adopted as inside companion animals and are altered, up to date with vaccinations, HW tested, microchipped and take preventatives monthly.   PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! March 25, 2025, 9:34 pm
