Story
Huey is young and therefore has a lot of energy. He loves attention and to be kept busy. Huey is active, smart, and loves kids and other dogs. He sees every new face as a potential playmate. He would do best in a home with another play mate or an active family. At the facility he has staff and volunteers that have spent extra time with him in training, teaching commands and helping him take out all his pent-up energy. Huey is always ready for a walk, run, hike or a training session. Extremely treat motivated and very focused of what`s being asked of him to do. Huey still needs more training, but he is an amazing dog. He loves to please his person and would love to have a job. His perfect home would be one with one or two people that are very active and super involved in his training or a family that has the time to take him on walks and keep his mind and body active. He won`t do well in a house that wants a couch potato dog or calm dog. He needs stimulation to be calm afterwards. He was born in Jan 2020 and is located at the rescue. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. Story
Ellie started out with us as a young pup. She was adopted out, only to be dumped at the shelter at another state. From what we have gathered from the shelter accompanied with our own experience with her, it’s because she needs a home without other dogs. She is 35 lbs and otherwise friendly with all humans and hopes you accept her terms and conditions because she is sooooo worth it! Ellie was born in 2018 and is located at the rescue. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Story
Dahlia is a loving, loyal, and very goofy girl. She is always down to play with her favorite toys, a racquet ball or tennis ball, squeaky stuffed animals or a cardboard box, she just loves to play with you. She also loves to run so a yard is a must. At night after a long walk, she loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep until it’s time for bed. Dahlia was adopted July 2022 and was a little over a year old, so i think her birthday is about June 2021. She is anxious around other dogs so would need to be the only one in the house, but I think with time and training, it’s fixable. She was attacked so she is skeptical of unfamiliar dogs. She has never been around a cat so i’m not sure how she would react around them. As for children, smaller children make her nervous since they’re so close to her face and she can get a little over excited and jumpy so it’s best to have older kids in a house. Dahlia now knows sit, down, stay(sometimes), still learning “come” but she loves learning. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Dahlia is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
Brownie was born August 12, 2022, we kept her along with her sister Buttercup. She is an outstanding and an amazing dog who loves to run and play all day. Shehas not found a toy that is as lovable as she is. She loves to cuddle in bed and give kisses for attention. Unfortunately, we have too many females in the house and with our large dog (Mastiff) which is older - our Mastiff has started to fight for dominance, Brownie has become of age and hierarchy issue. We thought it would be okay because she was born with us in the house and our Mastiff has been with her since she was born. Brownie is not the issue; it is our Mastiff, and we are fearful that something bad will happen to this amazing dog if we are not around. Due to various issues that have become known about the Mastiff we are unable to rehome her due to size and social behavior. Brownie is amazing with our 7 year-old daughter. We just want to make sure she finds a family who will love her as much as we do!
