Winston has been our family dog for seven years, purchased from a local private breeder. He spends the day in our fenced yard and is in our home in the evening. We have toddler grand kids and he is good with them and has never bitten anyone. But he will bark at strangers and neighbors who approach our backyard from the outside. We have ducks and he has too much of a hunter's instinct not to attack them. He is fine with our cat. He will be happiest with a yard in a rural setting and a daily walk. He loves playing fetch and is very loyal.

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Chelsea, AL Meet Dorothy Mae! She is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 51 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Dorothy Mae is great with kids, cats, and dogs! She tested positive for heartworms and started the slow kill protocol. She is given heartgard for her heartworm. She was originally found running in a rural area and was never claimed. The current owner is surrendering her because they already have other dogs. She needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Dorothy Mae, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. Need to rehome older dog. Deserves to live inside of house and get lots of love and attention and go for long walks. Still has so much life ahead of him - living in backyard barely getting any attention and walks is just not for him. He was house trained but may need to be retrained. Loves to hang out anywhere his humans are. Enjoys walking, can take him on 10 walks and he'll still be enthusiastic. Loves hikes. Should be only dog "child" or paired with a dog with similar temperament. Preferably a family that's active and outdoors. That can give him love and attention throughout the day.
