Story
Meet Marcus, a smart, playful, and active Border Collie-Retriever mix with a heart full of love and potential! This handsome boy is full of energy and would thrive in a home that can keep up with his enthusiasm for daily play and mental stimulation. He’s incredibly intelligent and enjoys learning new tricks and commands, making him a great companion for anyone looking to bond over training and activities. While Marcus has had a challenging start to life, having been found on the streets, he’s come a long way and is now looking for a special family that understands his unique needs. Due to his past experiences, Marcus is best as the only dog in the home and would benefit from an adopter who can provide him with a secure environment where he can continue to thrive. He does have some food resource guarding tendencies, which is why being the only dog in a home is essential. He can also be very creative when it comes to looking for food so make sure your counters are free of food as he has been known to eat entire loaves of bread. Marcus is a loving and loyal companion in the home, and with the right care and patience, he will blossom into an even more wonderful pet. He would do best in a calm, quiet environment without the stress of other dogs or public spaces like dog parks, but he’ll give you endless affection and joy in return. If you’re looking for an intelligent, active, and loving dog who’s ready to build a life full of adventures with you, Marcus might just be the perfect fit. He’s waiting for his forever home where he can truly feel safe and loved! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Look at us—aren’t we just the cutest bunch you’ve ever seen? We’re a playful, curious litter with all kinds of looks—some of us have adorable spots, others are soft and fluffy, and a few of us have sleek, short coats. We’re always on the move, chasing each other around and wrestling with our toys. Exploring is our favorite thing to do—we have to sniff and check out everything before we’re ready to settle in for cuddles. We love playing tug-of-war, pouncing on squeaky toys, and running in circles until we wear ourselves out. After all the fun, we’ll curl up in your lap or next to you for some much-needed naps and snuggles. We’re adventurous, smart, and super sweet—ready to bring lots of joy and laughter to our forever families! Could that be you? Story
Just look into Joe Fisher's ice blue eyes, but full disclosure alert, even though Joe Fisher AKA Patches is probably the most beautiful dog you have ever seen, he comes with very specific, very unique, and very inflexible behaviors. Anyone considering adoption of Joe should have previous owner experience specifically with Aussies and understand that he will be a constant work in progress. This beautiful Aussie is very smart and follows your every move waiting for your next command. He needs to be mentally challenged and is definitely a "project" dog. Joe Fisher is not a starter dog. No first-time dog owners. He needs an owner with time and that has worked with an Aussie in the past. He'll do best in a home as an only dog or with a medium/large girl canine companion and absolutely no small children as he tends to be very anxious and snappish. He is terrified of thunder and will bolt if outdoors. He ignores most dogs but doesn't get along with some. He doesn't require much exercise so will do fine with a small yard. Joe is a one-person dog. He remains constantly at his owner’s side or at their feet. He will defend you with his life (even if that includes not allowing your family or EMTs access to you during a medical emergency, which actually happened twice). On a one-to-one basis with his owner, he is dedicated, loyal, affectionate, and super attentive. He may or may not take a shine to other members of your household. He does not care for most other dogs but tolerates some girls that ignore him. He generally ignores cats, if they leave him alone. He does shed and will need grooming or frequent brushing of his beautiful long coat.Joe walks great on leash and loves long walks. He does not prefer to be in the yard alone and will run out and get his business done and race back to the house to join you. He listens very attentively and is smart and learns new skills quickly. He is crate trained and remains happy there for long periods. He has a great fear of thunder but is happy and comfortable in his crate during storms. To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please follow the link below to complete the Adoption Application. Once your application has been processed, we'll be in contact. We cannot schedule a meet and greet without a completed application. Please go to http://ootwrescue.org/adoption to fill out an application or review our Adoption Process.Cat adoption fee is $100. Dog adoption fee is $150, unless otherwise specified.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Paragould, AR Meet Josie (JoJo)! She is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 35 lbs. She is spayed and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t up to date on shots. Josie is nervous around strangers! She is good with kids, cats, and dogs! Josie has anxiety during car rides and when around new people. The owner is surrendering her because they recently moved and their yard is too small for her. She also hasn’t adjusted well after their other dog passed away. She needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Josie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Josie. Owner’s Contact Information: Kathy doxgal@yahoo.com
