Story
We are finally introducing Odie! Odie has been with us since January, however he arrived with a serious case of demodex mange and went straight into foster. As you can see, his coat has come back beautifully. He would be the envy of fashion models! We also noticed right away that he had something wrong with both eyes. After visiting local vets and going up to UGA it was determined he had multiple issues. He suffered from entropian (eyelashes/lids roll in and scratch the eyes) and deformed eyeballs. A plan was hatched to get surgery done on them to have entropy fixed and eyes removed as needed. On top of all that, shortly after he arrived, his foster noted that he is deaf. This is the miracle of dogs. He has every reason to be grumpy, but look at the smile in his pictures. Odie is THE happiest dog you will ever meet. The poster child for the disabled. His sniffer works exceptionally well. When you take him on walks, he stays pretty close. He knows he's ventured too far if he can't smell you.  Odie plays like any other dog. but does best if he has a buddy. Our Catelyn made fast friends with him when he stayed at the rescue for a couple weeks while his foster vacationed. She would let him bite onto her collar and she would walk him around. He's housetrained, but his adopter should expect a few accidents while he figures out where doors are. He does great in his crate. Due to his loss of other senses, his working one's are enhanced. His foster tried a vibrating collar as a means of recall, but it scared him a lot and that was abandoned. Odie would need a collar with sensitivity settings. Odie is looking for a single story home with minimal stairs in/out. He does great navigating once he's learned the lay of the land. He loves kids and other friendly dogs and cats.  If you can open your home to this incredible, young special needs dog and devote the time to helping him adjust, we know you will never have regrets. He's easily one of the sweetest dogs we've had at Paws and in his 2 week stay at the bldg, very quickly became a volunteer favorite. You can't help but love this happy lil fella. If you think you can provide him his best furever home, get your application in today. ##1940822##

Story
Available for adoption in Perry, GA - Sweet Saint found himself being boarded more often then he was at home since his humans retired and started traveling. His parents found a home for his brother but could not find one for Saint. Saint is 2 years old and neutered. He is up to date on vaccines, Heartworm negative and up to date on HWP and flea meds. Saint is house broken, crate trained (he prefers plastic crate instead of wire crate). He has minor separation anxiety which is getting better. He has had a lot going on the past several months being boarded and losing his brother. He is good with my cats and has been good with other dogs except unaltered males, all my neutered males he is good with. He prefers quieter dogs because he only has one eye and does not feel comfortable with anyone jumping in his face. He needs leash work. He is about 45 lbs and is very strong. He does bark when I leave for work so probably no apartments!! Here is the app: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application
