Say hello to the pooch at KHS who's a cute as a button! Buttons originally came to KHS as a young puppy after being rescued from poor living conditions. He was adopted and spent several months as part of a family! Unfortunately, his family is no longer able to keep him. We can tell Buttons was very loved in his previous home because he looks to you for ideas and fun. He has played with dogs and is very smart! He would be a great fit for someone who wants a companion to play fetch with outside! Embark says he is an Australian Shepherd/Perro de Presa Canario mix, and he is over 50 pounds. Annie was rescued from an Amish puppy mill in Northern Ohio. She has been with a foster since February 15th, and has done great in every way. She is extremely sweet and loving. She is friendly with other dogs, and loves people and especially children. She is is excellent health and has been fully vaccinated and spayed. She is good on a leash and housetrained. She has a moderate activity level—she loves to run around the yard or go for a brisk walk but is also happy to be in the house and chill. Milo is a high energy 5.5-year-old, half Austrian Shepard, half English Shepard. I received him from a breeder off a farm near Elizabethtown, KY when he was an 8-week-old puppy. He has lived most of his life in the city, however my parents have a farm that he visits frequently. Milo loves to run around the farm and explore. He has always been a very smart dog, he would learn tricks quickly, but he will push the boundaries of the trick/command. Milo has had some problems with aggression in the past. Generally, Milo is friendly with humans, just give him time to greet you, but other dogs tend to make him defensive, specifically large male dogs. Usually, if he has time to slowly meet another dog and get used to the dog, he is very playful with them. Milo has tons of energy and would be a great dog for lots of exercise, I have walked with him and run with him before on the leash, but he does pull some. The ideal home for Milo would be lots of land, or at least somewhere with a large yard.

Courtesy Post: A Wing And A Prayer Rescue- Lexington, KY Meet Rosie! She is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs around 35 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Rosie is nervous around strangers and it takes her a while to warm up to them. No younger children, due to her high energy! She is good with older children! She hasn’t been tested around cats. She is shy around other dogs at first, but warms up to them after a while. She is doing great with the other dogs in the home! Rose is protective and will steal food if it is left unattended, but she doesn’t have food aggression. She doesn’t like to be left alone outside and will cry for her people. She would excel in agility! She would also love a home where she can hike, camp, or run! I acquired Meenie during a trip to LMAS, when a lady came in to return her to the shelter; due to her disability she was unable to care for her. The shelter refused and said that they would euthanize Meenie. I decided that I would take Meenie and rehome her myself. Meenie is 1 yr old, she is very sweet, very high-energy and would do well with a young adult who has the time and patience that she needs. She really needs to have a yard where she can run and play. We intermittently let her and our dogs in and out throughout the day, it helps to burn her energy. She likes to go on walks, and she loves playing fetch. She gets along well with our pets; 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 bunny. She is very intelligent; she came to me knowing shake,sit, laydown, etc. I have continued to work with her as much as I am able to. I myself am a disabled veteran, and don't have the ability to give her the attention that she needs. She's such a sweet-girl, you will absolutely fall in love with her.
