I have a gentle nature and love people and other dogs. Add to my list of likes things such as hugs, belly rubs, chew toys, and treats especially sliced apples. Already know sit, stay, drop it, leave it, and no. I lost a leg due to an accident but it doesn't slow me up in the least. I'm incredibly agile and an expert fly catcher. Cuddling on the couch with my new family would make be the happiest pup ever. Include a few kisses and I'll give them right back. Story
RIPLEY IS READY TO BE ADOPTED! 🎉 This super sweet 1-1.5 year old Aussie girl is all healed & ready to be someone’s forever love. She is a pretty herdy girl, so we are specifically seeking a home familiar with herding breeds. This also means no children under 10 in her forever home. Ripley has pemphigus, so she will likely need medication for life. It’s not an expensive med, but it is very necessary to keep her well. She also will need to limit her sun exposure. Just like most pups of her breed, Ripley loves to play, learn, and have adventures. She would love a furry sibling who likes to play. Kitties and chickens are fine with her as well. Viva! NM Rural Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue therefore we do not have a shelter facility. Meet & greets can be arranged by appointment only or if the animal is at an adoption event. Our adoption process begins with an adoption application, which you can fill out in person at an event or onlinehere: https://forms.gle/nwTzSeaXwgRb7xX68 Once the application is submitted and approved, Viva! conducts a meet & greet, and then a home visit. Once the application, meet & greet & home visit are successfully completed we complete our adoptions with an adoption contract and payment of the adoption fee. Each contract includes a 10 day trial adoption period. We do NOT do out of state adoptions. Adoption fees for our dogs is $250 Seniors and select animals may have reduced fees. The adoption fee includes current vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter and heartworm testing.

Story
My name is Olive.  I am ~ 3 years old and believed to be an Aussie mix. I am a love bug of a girl and I would love a home with another dog my size or smaller.  I am potty trained and love my humans to death!  I can be a bit anxious and would do best in a home where my human is home most of the time.  I love to go place and do well in the car!  I would love an active human that likes to hike and camp and go fun places where I can run and get loads of exercise.  I am the SWEETEST girl ever.  I will be your loyal forever friend and promise to love you forever, if you promise the same to me.  For more details about me and the adoption process, please email LisaAmy@comcast.net.   ##2077687##

Story
PLUTO is a curious semi-feral dog who likes other dogs. With humans, he'll sniff your hand through a fence, but if there's no fence, he keeps a short distance. He is a sweet dog. While he's getting to know you, he'll be fine in a secure yard with housing and hanging out with you. As you progress in your bond to each other he'll make his way into living in the house with you. He's a diamond in the rough, he's sweet. He needs a hero - a human that will commit to him and gain his confidence and bond with him. When he was a puppy, a human poisoned his fur brother and fur grandmother. He is wary of some humans because of this. He has many dog friends - Koda and Arby of two of his bff's. His adoption fee includes his neutering, vaccines, deworming, microchip. He was born on a reservation one and a half years ago. We are still Covid-cautious and have specific adoption and Covid rules listed below. Revised adoption policyDue to Covid -19 pandemic and social distancing requirements, we've revised our adoption policy. First, please email (desertpawsnm@gmail.com) to inquire before you fill out the online application to see if the pet is still available. (Please do not call or text). We'll send you a link to the application. We are unable to do multi-dog/cat meetgreets or adoption events at this time or bring multiple animals to your house to choose from, so please only inquire if you're serious about adopting this particular animal. If you're just shopping around with several shelters and rescues, please let us know this. If your application is approved (which 'could' take up to one week) then we will contact you to set up a Zoom chat or ph call to answer questions/clarify anything and set up a day/time to bring the pet to you. Since we can't come into the home due to Covid-19, we ask that you send us pics /video of your home/yard/living area/current pets. We will discuss with you about meeting your other pets. At the meeting/adoption at your house (outside) please wear a mask (as will we), keep to a properly distanced social distance and have hand sanitizer and your own leash. We adopt locally to Abq, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, White Rock and Rio Rancho areas. No out of area adoptions inquiries please. The animals are fostered and our foster families like to know their fosters are happy, healthy, and cared for during their lifetime. We appreciate staying in touch periodically (just a pic, holiday card, social media, pics/videos etc will make our work worthwhile :-)) Our volunteers and adoption board are working diligently with an overload of inquiries since Covid to match families and forever pets. Our workload on the reservations has also increased. We're sorry, but if you email us with questions that are already answered here or fill out an application that does not fit the parameters of our procedures we will not be replying to you. Thank you for your understanding on this! Thank you - we look forward to hearing from you and having another furbaby united with a furever family!August 10, 2024, 3:51 am

ZAZA is beautiful, easy-going, smart, playful and affectionate. She has special needs - she is blind and deaf. Her condition is called microphthalmia. When she's very close to someone, she sees a bit of a shadow, but nothing more and no hearing. She gets along great using her sense of smell and touch and cues from her siblings/other friendly dogs. She has mapped out the house and the secure yard. She has a great disposition, as does her mom. She loves playing with her siblings and other friendly dogs. She also loves being petted and held by the humans. Story
Rosy is an easy keeper who gets along with dogs and cats. She is about 1 1/2 years old, housebroken and knows how to use a doggy door. Does not mind the crate but is not currently confined there as she isn't destructive or anxious when left alone. Plays with toys and loves to fetch. Doesn’t dig out or attempt to jump the fence. Loves attention and has a very gentle personality. Don't think Boarder Collie activity level, she's more mellow, enjoys meeting anyone who comes to the house and playing some ball. A nice walk and fetch would be great in terms of daily activity. Thank you for your interest in a Rescue Pet! PACA is a Foster-Based Rescue with no shelter. We have adoption clinic on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11a-2pm at 6300 San Mateo (along the grass next to Academy Rd) in the southern end of the Spouts Market parking lot volunteer staffing/weather permitting. We can also make arrangements for a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with approved applications. You can complete and easy online application here: https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The $250 adoption fee covers S/N, microchip, vaccines and heartworm/tic borne illness testing.

Story
What a sweet, smart girl! Parker knows “sit,” “down,” and takes treats gently. She’s very focused on her person and will look up at you with those bright eyes and happy smile just waiting to see what you’ll do next. Will it be going for a walk? Parker’s already pretty good on leash and seems easy to train. Will it be playing fetch? Parker learned how to chase tennis balls in just one session! This playful, affectionate 3-year-old also seems dog friendly. Bring your dog in for a meet & greet to see if they can be buddies. Parker is an awesome dog just waiting to bring joy and fun to her new family. Will it be yours?
