Story
This charming pup is named Waylon. We’ve been informed that he is an Aussie/Pit mix. Initially, he can be quite nervous, but he warms up quickly. We can understand this; having spent his entire life with one family, transitioning to two different shelters in just four days can be quite frightening. Waylon loves to sit in the staff`s laps and soak up attention. He arrived at the shelter with a severe ear infection, but thanks to East Carolina Veterinary Service, he is on the path to recovery.Waylon genuinely wants to trust people and craves love and affection. Earning his trust is truly worthwhile because once you do, he becomes the sweetest boy in the world. As he is still new to HSEC, he may become less shy and more eager to connect over time. We are thrilled to witness this beautiful soul come out of his shell and begin anew with someone who won’t give up on him. He truly deserves a life filled with unconditional love.

Hi, I'm new here! Please reach out for more information and a Maggie volunteer will be in touch soon! Did you know that when you adopt from the Maggie Society, your new family member comes with two copies of vet records. All Maggie dogs are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention prior to adoption. Your adoption fee goes towards the vetting of another dog or puppy in need. If interested in adopting, please complete an application. An approved application from The Maggie Society is valid for up to one year. It is not necessary to complete additional applications for dogs or puppies of interest if you have already been approved. Please reach out to the Maggie Society or your adoption counselor for a meet and greet!

Story
Koko is a one-year-old puppy who catches on to commands quickly, is very attention-oriented, and loves going for runs. She is a big snuggle bug and enjoys a good nap in the sun. Her bread mixes consist of a Great Pyrenees, border collie, and Australian shepherd. Her biggest areas of work are needed on settling and jumping. She has never gotten into anything in the house even when left alone and as long as she’s kept on routine she’s great at not going to the bathroom inside. She isn’t socialized but does get along great with our other dog in the home who is the same age. She does jump as a first reaction to greeting people and her nails need to be filed every two weeks or so. Overall she is a very smart dog who needs an owner that has dealt with or is ready to take on the craziness of a border collie and the drive of an Australian shepherd.
